Kincaid hype train has left the station. What a massive development it would be if we hit gold on this guy..

I don't think that's a bad approach.. in fact, I rather like that Beane does this. That said, I think he does need to review his process a bit due to the fact we are entering the window where rookies will need to start being year 1/year 2 contributors. If Kaiir Elam can get sorted out.. it starts to look really promising with Elam/Cook and Kincaid/Torrence in consecutive years.

McDermott's first game as DC.. Going to be a lot of people's pride on the line in a big Week 1 division game. I truly hope we have a more aggressive, attacking defense. If i'm McD in that game, I want Rodgers to know, immediately, that he is no longer in Green Bay... Light him up and expose the Jets OL. Make him feel it the next day. Come out of that game with Bills W and having Rodgers questioning his decision to go there.

Yup. For as long as Josh Allen is here, we have a Super Bowl window, but with his cap hits starting to become reflective of the QB he is... there isn't going to be the ability to bring in another Von Miller because we can't hit on DL picks. We have got to start getting production from young players, early in their rookie contracts. Can't have a guy like AJE finally click when we have to pay him, or Ed Oliver finally become what we want him to be when he's making big money... these guys have to start producing in Year 1...Year 2... Is Boogie Basham even going to make the team? Now Year 2 for Kaiir Elam, at a money position. I can live with Benford if he wins it.. he might just be very good while overlooked at a small school.. but we know what Dane Jackson is, and Dane Jackson should not be beating out a Year 2 RD1 Corner. This can't keep happening if we want to stay a top contender.

Yea, the FO's view on interior linemen (up until this year) has looked quite foolish.

The endorphin rush, followed by the immediate crash when reading Torrence is running with the 1's ... but so is Dane Jackson.

Bills OL has potential, but we're all going to be holding our breath hoping Spencer Brown makes the jump. I think Dawkins, McGovern and Morse have all proven to be above average pass blockers in their careers. All are still capable of playing at a high level, with McGovern just entering his prime years as a Guard. Bates is solid at RG, but his true value is in position flex, and if Torrence can win that spot, then we may really have something here. At the end of the day, Spencer Brown is as boom or bust as it gets at RT. If he booms... we may just have a very good OL. If he busts... better hope the last minute addition of Shell saves us at that position so we don't need RB/TE help over there all the time.

What’s to stop a team, especially in NYC, from saying “take this pay cut and we’ll make it up to you with X, Y, Z endorsements”? Obviously it would have to be implied, because the NFL would likely destroy a team if they found out that to be explicit, but this is pretty random, and strange, of Rodgers to just give up $35M. If genuine, good for him… his cap hit after this year is still a problem for the Jets, but it’s not a poison pill franchise cap reset post-Rodgers like it was setting up to be.

Do you truly think a DL of: Von, Floyd, Rousseau, Jones, Ford and Oliver is not going to be something we have “going for us”? 4/6 of those guys didn’t play against Cincy.

Nice breakdown. I think many of us are interested to see how the post-Hill WR model works if/when Kelce slows down or hangs it up. -

What do we consider “adversity”? I don’t recall Diggs being a problem at all last year, aside from a heated sideline moment in Detroit.. which really depends on one’s view of the situation. We went through a lot of adversity, but what happened against the Bengals wasn’t “adversity”… it was a collective failure to even show up for a game to get us back to the AFC CG.

I really don’t want Harty playing ST’s if he’s going to be an explosive part of the offense. Everything reported about the guy alludes to injuries being the thing that holds him back from being a big time player in the league. Dude is small and I’d hope we limit his hits. Hoping Shakir takes those duties. -
If one is to believe that White and Von will return to pre-injury form, I’m not sure how anyone would rather have the Dolphins roster over ours. OL play vs Pass Rush could be massive in division. None of the Bills, Jets or Dolphins have proven top tier Offensive Lines .. and, when healthy, all three teams have top tier Defensive Lines.

About as good of a presser from Diggs as I could’ve hoped for. Sounds extremely locked in and expresses a lot of the sentiment I would hope is fueling everyone on this team.

Don't disagree. I'd give Torrence every opportunity to win the starting RG spot with Bates as utility backup. Same with Bernard or Williams to beat out Dodson and live with the growing pains. I'd start Elam at CB2 and stop playing games. I just don't know that this staff will... especially with opening the season against the Jets. -

I think our OL potential is absolutely a Top 10 unit. Potential though.. Depth is great, but in terms of starters. Dawkins and Morse have consistently above-average ability, with McGovern and Bates having average to above-average potential. If Brown becomes, at least, average... this is a Top 10 unit. -

Opening the season against Rodgers and the division rival Jets seems to me, like it may shape the opening roster a bit. Given how conservative our staff seems to be with experienced guys, I'm not sure they're going to be very willing to throw Bernard/Williams out there against Rodgers or a rookie RG out there against one of the best DL's in the NFL. I'm hoping they do, but if I'm guessing on day 1 of camp... Bates starts the season at RG and Dodson at MLB, with Rapp coming in on passing downs. -

I'm not going to sit here and say it's not a concern, but some of our podcast guys act like the MLB spot being an open competition, post-Edmunds, is some sort of seismic event that could dramatically alter our season. I'm beyond sick of the dramatics about replacing Edmunds. When healthy: Von/Floyd - Daquan/Poona - Oliver/Phillips - Rousseau/AJE Milano - ??? Tre - Johnson - Elam/Benford/Jackson Hyde - Poyer - Rapp I mean... c'mon... That's easily a top 5 talented defense. -

Bengals already letting other guys set the market with Burrow, although some reports are that Burrow isn't ready to sign anything. Let's all hope Justin Jefferson signs before Ja'Marr Chase as well... -

I very much want Torrence to win the starting spot, but Bates is a decent player and Kromer is somewhat known for guys making a jump in year 2 of his system. It shouldn't be concerning if Bates enters the season as starting RG. Elam is a very frustrating situation that, to the outside fans pov, makes no sense given his play on the field. -

I think there's a difference, as you allude to in adjustment, with Dodson filling in for Edmunds in Edmunds role... and Dodson starting at MLB in McDermott's Defense, in which Dodson, hypothetically, earns the starting role. I'm also not sure Dodson is a typical McD 3 down LB, so if there is a larger role envisioned for Rapp, it could be as a rotation piece for Dodson and Johnson in different packages. I'd much rather Bernard or Williams win the spot, but at the very least, I'm incredibly relieved that we didn't overpay for a flawed MLB. -

NFL has a salary cap but a perfect illustration of the differences in owners.. Talk of Burrow needing to take less in guaranteed money because his owner doesn’t have the ability to keep enough money in escrow to play cap games in order to attempt to keep their Big 3 together, let alone guys like Boyd, Reader and their pass rushers. Meanwhile.. Jets owe Aaron Rodgers over 100M next year. Obviously they’re not paying that, and will likely spread the hit out over void years.. Pegula seemingly gives Beane a blank check to any, and everything, under the cap. -

Kincaid is who I’ll be paying attention to. As a fully functioning TE, it’s tough to make a huge impact as a rookie, historically speaking. However, if Kincaid gets work mainly in the slot, while moving inside to chip/block and keep defenses honest, he could be as an impactful as many rookie WR’s as of late. It would be so huge to get a legit weapon in the middle of the field that allows Gabe Davis to play off him with Diggs as the 1. An improved OL with Diggs, Davis, Kincaid, Knox and Cook as the focal weapons would not only be massive for this year, but for the future nucleus of this team as we start transitioning into our next window with the current OL top 6 all locked down for multiple years with Morse being a year to year player imo. (I do think Davis will get extended) Oliver, Rousseau & Elam making the jump on defense would also, obviously, help immensely. -
Excuse me, what?…
