  1. I think most are concerned about Wentz and that it was a late in the year injury and he would be ready in Training camp. So they would be more willing to trade Foles once Wentz is healthy. So at the trade deadline they would be all for it. With the mindset Pederson and the roster that is constructed, I think a perennial back up could start the season 5-3 or 4-4. I think they would be inclined to accept an offer it it includes a 1st rd pick in 2018. Sell high.
  2. My question, as the Eagles if you are willing to trade Foles in the summer when a contender loses there Qb, wouldnt it be better to have a desperate team like Cleveland offer number 4 for Foles? That pick is much higher than a contender would be. Foles will warrant a big consideration from any team starve of a Qb. He had a great regular season 4 years ago and now had a fantastic playoffs and out dueled Brady for a Superbowl ring. So in the right situation he showed that he can be productive. Mcdermott a Ried guy may very well be interested in Foles. Would you trade 22 for Foles? Idk but Buffalo is going to consider it and Philly would be dumb not to listen.
  3. The only way he is not on the roster to start the season is if a team makes a big offer. Foles is not the future in Philly that is Wentz. After this coming year when Wentz returns Foles leaves for an opportunity to start elsewhere. With that all being true right now Foles will never be hotter. A Qb desperate team that doesn't land Cousins or a starting Qb in FA may rather go with Foles over a rookie. If Philly is offered 1 and 3 like they were for Bradford would they take it? Yes they would. Will a team make that kind of offer? I dont know but I could see it happening.
  4. If Jackson has a high work ethic he could start week 1. Qb is a funny position. Last year the Texans wemt with lets sit Watson as lomg as we can. That lasted 2 quarters. Watson was onviously the better player hence the quick hook for Savage. Jackson is such a dynamic athlete you will have a hard time keeping him off the field. His athletic ability gives him alot to fall back on while he learns to play Qb in the NFL.
  5. In football smart aggressivness normally pays off. Forth and short should always be gos past the 40. Its too early to know what Mcdermott will do. They had to play the averages and he didnt truely trust his offense.
  6. Its not college there is no rule of helment to helment on a runner. Cooks made a move lost track of where he was and cut back right into Jenkins. Clean hit. College it could have beem seen as targeting, but at some point an offensive player is responsible for avoiding would be tacklers.
  7. Right. The way that teams line up they could force every teams tackles to move up, they dont. The Wr split farthest is at mercy of the line judge and as long that they are close to the tackle they are fine. Foles motion and he is a wing and not even with the Wr further shows he is not too far off the line. There is a grey area but Its like traveling in the NBA its not called unless its egregious IE covering an eligable reciever.
  8. Comes down to the far side line judge. He is even with the RT and the wing is behind him so he is legal.
  9. Im not sure about mayfield but I expect many will see him as a massivley more accurate tebow, in terms of leadership. Hes supremly accurate and has all the intagible things. He wont make it far from top 10 if at all.
  10. I see what you are saying. Put Smith on the Lions and Sanders on the Cowboys and it would be night or day. Emmit though is first in yards and only second in TDs to Rice. He has a claim reguardless of situation.
  11. Current Era that is how I saw it with Lynch insted of Dawkins. Looking back Dawkins was the glue for great jim johnson defense and Andy Reids incredible run in Philly. 4 consective NFC championship appearance was quite impressive.
  12. They all have an argurement. If it was 94 or later add Deon Sanders.
  13. Qb and DT would be the top priority at the open of FA. Sam Bradford, Star Loutulia, and John Brown or Paul Richardson. Still draft a Qb, and Dt
  14. Most offenses in the NFL run or ran traditional offenses. In terms of Qb you add talent this time of year. You look for system Qbs as back ups. Releasing Taylor they are in the desperate Qb market. Where Buffalo has lived for much of the drought. My point is there is realistically 3 maybe 4 Qbs available that can start tomorrow and you know will be better than Taylor. If Buffalo gets any of those 4 at that time you release him. If you do not you sign the best system type backup. In the draft if you get the QB you covet you than can trade Taylor. To who? The team that have a system that would benefit Taylor. Houston? Carolina? Maybe Cleveland if you are confident in the guy you got. The worst thing that could happen to me is Drafting a qb who may not be ready week 1 and now you either rush the Qbs development or throw is the career back up who will play in a manner you have to play the rookie anyway.
  15. Add in the fact that Brees didnt pass a physical in Miami and Saban was not able to sway the organization to sign him anyway. They went with Culpepper. Payton had the Dr on his medical staff in NO who performed the shoulder surgery and got Brees cleared in the physical. If Brees went to Miami Saban is still in the NFL.
  16. Cousins and Keenum are two guys that are going to be paid over there ability. Both I would say are better Qbs than Taylor. Besides them who comes in that is significantly better than Taylor? Bortles, but doubt he leaves Jacksonville. Bradford but is risky due to injury but could be had for similar money as Taylor. Besides the names that are listed who is a better starting Qb for average money? The remaining crop are career back ups and no assurance that they are actually better starting Qbs. If Buffalo does not get Bradford or Keenum there is a strong possibility Taylor is on the roster longer than many think. I would rather have Taylor battling a rookie to start than Peterman any day. Taylor has shown flashes of brilliance but those performances are too far and too few between. As a bridge Qb you can do much worst and barring some crazy trade for a Qb I expect Mcdermott doing the devil you know is better than the devil you dont. It wont be the popular decision to make, but that also does not mean it was not the correct one.
  17. The trade market from now til his roster bonus will be slim to none. Only way you trade Taylor is on Draft night or in Training camp. Based off his cap hit idk if Buffalo would be willing to eat that. If Buffalo comes to the conclusion that they would be fine if Taylor was on the roster opening day and possibly starting than they would regain any trade leverage they could have. If Buffalo signs a Vetran at the start of FA they cut Taylor. Outside of that hold on to him and once a rookie over takes him a team could come calling in TC if their starter goes down.
  18. The bottom half of every draft the players have to fight and earn a roster spot. For instance Milano will be a stromg canidate to start. Villajoe who is a linebaker selected before him will be fighting for a roster spot. Peterman doesnt look like an NFL starting Qb. Most assume Taylor is gone, and Buffalo nor only will sign a vetran to compete to start will also draft a Qb early. Peterman would need to beat out one to make the roster. If joe webb is retained Peterman would be the odd man out.
  19. Tyrod does not have the same market as Alex Smith. Alex Smith s a better player. Every team knows about Taylors roster situation so you would have more leverage the closer to that date. Most would just let the bills cut him and all you have to do is sign him and not give anything else up.
  20. I agree. If its not Luck ok but go get a guy. Not just be content with what is left. Add in the risk reward with Luck or the risk reward with a draft pick it is interesting. Now put 80 mil on Luck or 25 mil on the draft pick that levels the field even more.
  21. FA options would be who comes out of Minnesota and see if Luck is available for trade. Can't get either I move up for a starting Qb. As time is going on I have it as Rosen, Allen, Mayfield, Darnold, and Jackson. I would be ok with any of those guys. if the only Qbs brought in are backups, than I want Rosen or Mayfield and Jackson. I think Allen has the best upside followed by Darnold but wouldnt want to go 100% with either day 1. They very well could earn it day 1 but I wouldn't feel as confident as the other 3 without being pushed or battling for the spot. Jackson is so athletic he may win rookie of the year but still not have a better career than any of the other guys. I know I have Jackson 5th and its confusing that Im more confidant with him over 2 guys I rank above him but for me his running ability is going to give teams immense problems the first time they see him. Im not sure how he will adjust when he has to win in the pocket and he will at some point end of year 1 and year 2 prove he can that is why I have him 5th.
  22. Its a unique situation but also the coach hasn't had a chance to evaluate the team and set his own plan into place. They have a good position in the draft but have a wide range of needs and not alot of cap space. If the coach is who everyone expects he very well may like Brissett and be fine with him as a placeholder to develop a rookie. If they move Luck early on in the league year they can add much more help during FA with the added cap space. Do you gamble Luck is back to what he was and build around him? If he is not his market will never be higher than now and they would be stuck with a massive contract. That is as boom or bust as taking Mayfield Rosen, Darnold, or Allen but for significantly less financial obligations to at least sure up the rest of the roster. I 100% believe that it will be a major discussion for them and If the right offer comes calling it could sway it. To me it will be one of the main stories to follow this off-season.
  23. A healthy Luck at a much lower hit than Cousins would be perfect. It would take a NO style roll of the dice. Brees did not pass a physical at Miami and Saban couldnt get the organization to clear him. Payton took him as is and the rest is history. A 1st and a 3rd with a conditional pick next year. If Luck plays 50% of the snap a 3rd. 80% goes to a second. Make the probowl it is a 1st. Indy at 3 could decided to move on get a top Qb and build the roster around them added cap space and draft picks.
  24. Knowing Whaley and the entire scouting department was gone after the draft there was not chance Mcdermott was going to rely on that department to land him a franchise qb. Carr or Wilson were not top 10 rated prospects coming out of college. They proved to be good players but not really the same caliber of prospect as im decribing. Kelly was the last stellar qb drafted high. Ej was a pick of necessity not ability.
