  1. While I agree with most of your point, I am sure that they see it that they can't possibly have a Superbowl caliber team this year while clearing dead cap, so might as well tank this year and get a blue chip prospect for another position that they strongly value before they spend 90 million in FA and make a push to become a Superbowl caliber team. Not that I am saying I agree with this philosophy or not, but that is what it looks like they are doing.
  2. Let McBeane show us this offseason what they have been working towards for the last 2 years. You can't fire a coach who broke a ridiculous playoff drought and then has a down year while attempting to clear millions of dollars of bad contracts. Let them sign players this offseason and see what they have built after that. After next season, there are no excuses, we need to see a team that can compete with anyone in the league or then we start talking about who our next HC is going to be.
  3. Admittedly this is just my opinion from watching some highlights, I hope the guy turns out to be great
  4. He looks like he has Kelvin Benjamin's speed, and is only 6 ft tall. He couldn't be worse than Foster has looked, but not a stellar signing. Guy does look like he has decent hands though and does come down with a lot of 50/50 balls.
  5. 1. I was born into this 2. I love that they always leave me wanting more from them.... But really, I can't get enough Bills, between the Draft, Free Agency, Preseason, Regular Season, even Playoffs last year, and then Embedded this year I just can't get enough Bills coverage/info, I'm addicted to it. 3. By farrrrrr the best memory I have is the exact moment we made the playoffs last year, it was the first time we have made the playoffs since I can even remember watching the Bills, I didn't get to be part of the Kelly years
  6. Once again, I am 100% sure that Peterman could teach Allen SOMETHING good that would help him develop, and I am also 100% sure that Peterman will never be a successful #1 QB on any team in the NFL. I agree that Peterman is not special, he was drafted in the 5th round, and has shown why he was a 5th rounder.... But he IS smart, and is cheap (Which is important considering our cap situation), and he supposedly looked best throughout TC and Preseason. I never said that they kept him this year because he played in this offense last year, I realize Daboll was not here and it is a new system.
  7. I disagree, I think having Peterman be able to share his experience from last year with Allen is beneficial at the moment and if he is able to prevent Allen from making even just 1 of the many mistakes that Peterman made it is worth the small contract they are currently paying Peterman. Even last game, when Allen was struggling to move the ball before his injury, he can learn something from seeing Peterman come in and eventually hit Zay on the TD. This may change once Anderson is up to speed (Which sounds like it could be soon) but then they will decide if it is more beneficial to have a QB room of 2 or 3, as every decision should be made with the focus on what is best for the development of Allen.
  8. Not saying YOU are an ignorant person my friend..... just saying it is an ignorant thought to say that Peterman cannot teach Allen ANYTHING. And we will just have to agree to disagree that Peterman is touted in those ways
  9. It is quite ignorant to say that someone who is not a good QB themselves (Due to physical limitations IMO) cannot teach someone else anything about being a good QB. How was Jordan Palmer as an NFL Quarterback? Only started something like 5 games, but is now highly regarded by many people for his work with young QBs. Now I am not saying Peterman is Jordan Palmer, but surely Peterman has some knowledge that Allen could benefit from. Peterman is touted as being very smart, can throw with anticipation which shows he knows the playbook and knows where receivers will be, just simply does not have the arm to get it there consistently. And yes we have seen how Peterman can fill in, he came in and threw a TD and gave us the lead, and 9 times out of 10 I would say our defense shuts them down and we win that game. I do not want Peterman as our QB1..... All I am saying is that I understand why he is here at this very moment.
  10. I still like the trade of Tyrod and McCarron. Peterman is on the team because he knows the offense, is a very cheap backup, and is smart. He just doesn't have the arm to execute all of the throws that he needs to make. That said, he can still help Josh Allen learn and fill in when needed until his cheap rookie contract is up.
  11. Out of this group, I would rank them in the following: 1 - Woods (By a long shot), 2 - Goodwin, 3 - Watkins, 4 - Hogan Woods - I said many times to pay the man what he wants, he was a tough, team-first player... always on the field doing what was asked of him. Rarely was hurt, solid route runner, excellent hands, good speed. Hogan - He is a solid player, nothing special but a solid player that will do his job and you won't have to worry about him missing an assignment or getting in trouble. I certainly wanted to keep him, but New England did offer him a decent size contract. Goodwin - It was painful having him here but the one fear that I had about letting him go has seemed to come true.... He has gotten rid of the injury bug, and is showing off his ridiculous speed forcing defenses to account for him. Watkins - He has been overrated since the day we drafted him. He was never worth the ransom we paid, but was worth more than the trade compensation we got in return for trading him. All in all, he is a solid #2 WR in my eyes, and a player I wish we still had on our team but not for the $$$ he wanted/got.
  12. Not sure but I think he is talking about the fans that watched the Bills make the playoffs last year and are now calling for the firing of their coach 6 games into the season
  13. I thought you were going to be referring to the type of playmakers they have, big target in Mike Evans (Much better version of Benjamin), and a burner in Desean Jackson (Non-existent on the Bills), and I believe they have a big athletic tight end.... I never expected someone to advocate for Fitz.
  14. Wow wow wow..... They almost took Watson down for a sack and a safety in the endzone, Hughes forced a fumble that they couldn't recover, then they unfortunately gave up 50 yards on a PI call in the endzone by their weakest link on the defense, and a position that is sure to be upgraded next offseason, and then had 3 straight stops from the 1 yard line to force a FG.
  15. One thought I had on the way into work this morning was that McBeane only have had so many resources at their disposal to turn this team around (I know some will disagree and say they created holes and have wasted picks to trade up, but they felt they needed to trade/cut people in order to get everyone to buy in and be "pulling in the same direction" so to speak) and complete their vision. To establish culture, they may have felt it better to focus most of those resources on one side of the ball (defense) and have a strong unit that will not second guess their coaching ability and/or THE PROCESS. And it only made sense to use the defensive side of the ball considering McDermott's background. Next year, they will have tons of money/draft picks and the ultimate goal is to replace almost the whole offense, besides Allen, Dawkins, Zay, Clay (Maybe), and McCoy (Maybe). So the new group coming in will not have gone through this train wreck season of offensive performance and should buy in to whatever the coaching staff is asking of them. Whether that turns this unit around is yet to be seen, but it does seem to make some sense to me.
  16. I am feeling very good about Zay Jones. What happened last year was completely mental IMO, he started dropping balls and then he let it get to his head and never broke out of it. I never bought all of the bust talk last year and I think he is growing into the solid #2 WR he will become.
  17. And it probably hurts even more because of the fact that they tried to trade for McCoy last year but opted to acquire Ajayi instead when they heard our asking price
  18. We are not trading for Bell, lets make that clear right now... That is the exact opposite of the McBeane philosophy.
  19. Has to be at least a 2nd rounder, since that second rounder will be around 60 or so in the draft
  20. I would disagree that McBeane are not better than the field at drafting but admittedly that is just my gut feeling... I believe these guys know how to identify good players, not that they won't have their misses but I think they hit at a higher rate than most others. I think the Edmunds pick is a perfect example of this in that they knew he was a fit because of many reasons (talent, character, etc..) and his position is one in which they value highly so they chose to spend the draft capital to get him. They have traded up for positions they strongly value, QB (Obviously important), MLB (Leader of their defense), LT (Cornerstone of any good offense), WR (What they may have thought was a WR1 or WR2). Now if they are trading up for guards and fullbacks or other positions that are not highly valued, we have an issue IMO. There could also be an issue with the Zay Jones pick in that he has obviously not shown to be as good as they thought he was... hopefully he develops further and proves them right but I don't think anyone would have been upset with the tradeup if they had taken Juju instead of Zay because that is certainly an important position and it would be helping our rookie QB a lot right now if they had hit a home run on that pick. While I understand your point of the draft being somewhat of a guessing game and coaches not getting 5 years to rebuild anymore, I guess I am really hoping that the Pegula's do give McBeane 5 years as they have shown to have a vision (Whether it comes to fruition is yet to be seen) and I do believe if given that time we could have something special that was well thought out.
  21. I think it is more important to get the RIGHT players than to get more players. If there is someone that McBeane has identified and wants to trade up for them, I am all for it..... But that has everything to do with how much confidence you have in them, I trust them at the moment to find the right players and go out and get them... That may change in a year or two.
  22. Thought he was a good coach last year, and still do. It is amazing, watching yesterday and there was a stretch of plays where Milano had a huge play, Edmunds had a forced fumble, Phillips had a moment, and then Taron Johnson gets the pick. It just gets me stoked for what we could be in another year or two when we have drafted more of these quality players. I do admit that we need this level of quality on the offensive side of the ball, but still believe that McBeane were waiting to invest draft capital heavily in offensive players until OC was really nailed down.
  23. Can't wait to see our next offensive possession and watch Allen drive us down for the winning score
