  1. Part of me will be disappointed if we go OL in the 1st round just because its not an exciting position, but I also think it might be the right thing to do. For years, the Colts didn't build around Andrew Luck, and he ended up taking so many crazy hits and getting seriously injured. We need to have OL as priority #1, and WR/RB #2, and followed by DL at #3 with Kyle soon to be gone
  2. I don't see the 2nd CB spot as something you use a lot of resources on whether it be $$ or draft picks. My first preference would be to entice a veteran on a team friendly deal which I think could be possible. That is one of the more desirable positions we can offer a veteran player, playing across from Tre, in what looks like it could be a top 5 defense, many veterans could see that as a great landing place for them or one to sign a short cheap deal to boost their stock while playing on a top defense. Second option for me is trusting McBeane to find a CB2 in the 3rd-5th rounds of the draft... If you use a 1st rounder, you are almost guaranteeing that you will have to let one of your 1st round CBs walk in Free Agency at some point because you will not sign 2 CBs to 20 million/yr deals.
  3. Flag!! Stealing spotlight from the official, 15 yard penalty.... automatic first down
  4. Pittsburgh has shown that Bell's success is due partially to the Steelers excellent oline... I remember lots of talk about how patient Bell is, if he tried to be patient with our line, he would end up tackled for 5 yard losses every play.
  5. They can have him, guy ran with cinder blocks attached to his feet
  6. Like the move, and it appears that they are looking for fast, shifty receivers.... similar to the players that the Patriots have gashed us with over the years, and that other teams seem to overlook due to questions about size. And with the physical play continually being taken out of football, I gotta say this would be a smart move IMO
  7. I haven't seen him play much but Charles Johnson comes to mind when thinking about a Panther comparison for Shaq
  8. You have to give McBeane next year at the very least.... I am not nearly as worried about their eye for offensive talent as others are, and it may be unearned confidence but the guys that they have drafted for the offense have been good IMO, they just haven't had the picks to draft very many YET. When you take away the 6th and 7th round lottery tickets that they have taken a shot on for the offense, their drafts have given us several good players. I am very confident that Dawkins and Zay are going to be great for us. Wyatt Teller in the 5th looked good in preseason and showed signs that he may have a place on this team in years to come. And the obvious one, Josh Allen whom we know nothing about at the moment. Any Free Agents that they have brought in for the offensive side of the ball have been band-aids to buy them time and ultimately draft the right guys. They believe in building through the draft and getting a good pipeline of young players on cheap contracts, which in my eyes is exactly the way you win today, you have to get a QB and then good young talent on cheap deals while retaining your core (Which they are building, Edmunds, Allen-Maybe/Hopefully, Tre) once their rookie deals are up.
  9. McBeane have a plan and are following that plan, although it is quite painful to watch at the moment... Rex's plan was to bring in his brother so he didn't have to work as much and they could go to Sabres games together.
  10. I'm not sure I buy it that most teams pass on 3rd and shorts in the NFL, but I can't say I have looked up the stats on this. I will agree with the fact that putting them in the shotgun on 3rd and short isn't a great idea, have some mystery to it. But also, the Bills are not most teams talent wise, just from watching the games (I haven't looked up the stats, sorry) I would have to guess that we normally run it on 3rd and short, so some unpredictability mixed in there by throwing on 3rd and short is a good thing and helps to break trends the teams may have seen in film study.
  11. Just not sure you can say you don't like predictable playcalling and immediately say that you hate passing the ball on 3rd and short.... Seems like a bit of an oxymoron
  12. huh?? Sorry about taking one little bit of your post and harping on it but I'm not sure you're allowed to say these two statements in the same sentence
  13. Oh no, I should have clarified, I definitely have not watched as closely... just here and there on the other guys, and the throws that they ARE making are unimpressive for the most part... with maybe the exception of a few of the throws on Rosen's last drive yesterday. I haven't seen many big boy throws out of any of the rookies. I was speaking about Allen though, and how he looked worse and worse with each start, although he did seem to make improvements/adjustments to his game (Not spinning out of the pocket, hurdling guys), it just seems he has to learn to win games by sitting in the pocket, reading the defense, and being accurate with his throws, and he hasn't shown much ability to do that. But don't get me wrong, I am 100% rooting for him to succeed, and I do have more faith in McBeane than most people so I have to give Allen the benefit of the doubt.
  14. This gives me at least a little more hope but the eye test has been discouraging so far... Hoping he turns it around in his 2nd season and looks more like Luck, Goff, and Manning
  15. Rosen fan here... but I am praying the Bills got it right with Allen, I’m not so sure about him
  16. I feel like the Bills have honestly tried to do both by moving around (up/down) in the draft. Trying to get the players that they love, that fill a need, and at the right spot in the draft.
  17. We are not trying to install an offense that is best for RIGHT now.... We want to teach Allen the offense for who we plan on becoming next year and the year after. You don't spend a year teaching your rookie QB a scheme that you will toss out next year when you get talent on the offensive side of the ball. As painful as it is now, everything needs to be done to help Allen learn.
  18. I understand what you are saying about the whole not paying for top tier talent and the "you get what you pay for". I 100% agree with that... And Woods is a prime example, guy was/is a stud. We don't have money currently (due to their decisions to offload players), but that changes after this season and then there are no excuses..... IF we keep this staff.... but if we replace them, then its just a brand new staff saying "just give us time to get our guys". I'm sure that McBeane didn't include that in their pitch to the Pegula's but that does happen to be a byproduct of eating all of this dead cap that we have this year
  19. You can tell by the outlook that McBeane have taken since they got here. They would not have started an obvious 4-5 year rebuild process if they had any inclination that they would be on the hot seat after year 2, especially after making the playoffs in year 1. They would have come in and approached the situation very differently, and chances are McDermott discussed this plan in depth with Pegula before he agreed to his contract.
  20. Ronald Darby - Supposedly didn't buy into the zone defense we were installing... So rather than have him be a cancer, they got something for him, can't fault them there Marcel Dareus - Was worthless on our team, put in very little effort, and was a cancer, not someone you want influencing your young up and coming rookies As for in LA, I'm not sure if you were referring to Robey-Coleman or Woods, but I 100% wanted to keep Woods and believe it was a mistake IF Woods was open to staying in Buffalo and they sent him packing. Robey I believe is JAG. And KC, I am assuming you are referring to Watkins and not Ragland, and Watkins has shown that he was nothing special, certainly not worth the $$ he wanted/received from KC. You make it sound like our players that we sent packing are integral parts of these SB teams when in reality they are far from it and were great teams before those players arrived.
  21. Its quite annoying honestly... They are not going anywhere, they have had this plan since the beginning and the Pegula's signed off on it. How anyone could expect them to be good this year with the dead cap is crazy. And yes, they are having more mistakes happen this year, that tends to happen when you get a younger team and have rookies handling the ball more... So we will have to deal with some rookie mistakes, but hopefully in another year or even two years, we will really have a team to be proud of. They are actually doing EXACTLY what many of TBD have said for yearssssss.... Clean house, Get rid of the dead weight, draft a QB in the 1st round, and build through the draft with a splash of FA signings here and there. This is what that "process" looks like people.... Put up with it for now and hopefully it leads us to something great!!! Go BILLS!!!!
