  1. One more similarity: next year, when Kelvin Benjamin is on another team, he'll probably badmouth Josh just like he did Cam.
  2. "I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints; the sinners are much more fun." - Billy Joel
  3. Our offense has been anemic for a few years. The difference is that we now have a QB who looks like he can take it to the next level (and a couple of levels beyond that), but he needs more experience and some talent around him. So essentially we have a rookie leading the offense to about the same stats (including points) that a seven year vet was doing before. That's a reason to be hopeful.
  4. We watched the late afternoon game between the Vikings and the Eagles. When the Vikings DT picked off a tipped pass and ran it in for the TD, my wife started laughing and I said, "There's nothing funnier in the NFL than watching a defensive tackle lumbering down the field on an interception or fumble return." Of course, I was thinking of Sam Adams.
  5. I loved seeing McCoy and Ivory on the field at the same time. Who should the defense key on? Josh can hand it to either one, pass it to Shady, throw downfield, or run it himself. That's a scheme that plays to the team's strengths while hiding its weaknesses.
  6. On the flip side, others suggest he could have benefited from sitting behind a seasoned vet for a year or two, like Mahomes learning by watching Smith, in which case he'd have zero throws in a game. Getting Josh on the field, albeit with a limited passing attack, gives him some experience without totally throwing him to the wolves. It's a happy medium.
  7. Gus Johnson and John Madden. Imagine the energy in that booth!
  8. This could start a new trend: the "Center Eligible" play. ?
  9. Last night, Watson made a desperation throw that was picked off. He was out of the pocket and should have thrown it out of bounds to avoid the sack. It reminded me of Josh's red zone pick against the Packers last week. Agreed. If he throws two picks, one will probably be a good pass that bounced off the receiver's hands.
  10. Because he's not "just a taller Tyrod Taylor."
  11. They are, Man. I saw Jerry Jones at a Greenpeace meeting last month.
  12. In the world of slippery slope arguments, that one represents an 89-degree decline on an oily Teflon surface.
  13. That's like an unsatisfying orgasm.
  14. Terry's reply: "Sure - why not? I trust Kim's defensive skills over your offensive strategy."
  15. "So Josh hands the ball off, and the RB gives it back, and then Josh throws a pass? Seems inefficient." "It's called a flea-flicker, Boss."

  17. To paraphrase Red Green, "It won't come to a full stop, but I'm guessin' people will get out of the way."
  18. Good for Thurman! I'm sure that they want to do this on MNF to give Thurman a national stage, but geez, could they have picked a worse opponent for the event? I hate to be a downer, but it's likely that the game will be over by halftime.
  19. I'm sorry to hear that, AFL. I can't even imagine...
  20. That reminded me of this: https://www.theonion.com/snooze-button-time-traveler-sets-coordinates-for-5-minu-1819574939
  21. I'm happy to say that it just worked out to be a good match.
  22. That's how I found my franchise wife. But she's a system wife; I don't think she'd be as successful in most other households. (To be fair, I'm a system husband.)
