The coaching staff is probably best at developing players at CB and Safety. I'm w/ the posters who advocate going w/ more youth on this one.

Beane has done a great job building the line, both starters & depth. Really, the most important unit when you have a true franchise QB.

Which QB Will Win Their First SB Next?
Success replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good QB's - but neither has proven that they're on par w/ the big 3 in the AFC. It will help Herbert to have Harbaugh. The Chargers might emerge as a legit contender. But I've really gotta see it. I'm skeptical. Stroud looked great last year. Let's see how it goes this year. It has happened that a QB can look really good, but then the league kind of catches on to how best to defend him. Lawrence & Jax were the hyped team coming into this past season, and took a step back instead. -

I kind of know what you're saying, but generally reject the idea that QB's beat each other. Allen plays KC's defense, and Mahomes plays against the Bills' defense. -

Probably Allen or Burrow. The AFC is better than the NFC, and Mahomes, Allen & Burrow are the top 3 QB's in the AFC. Both Burrow & Allen have rosters than can win it all. Hope it's Allen, but it wouldn't shock me if Burrow won next. -
I'm expecting a WR - but a difference-making pass rusher wouldn't ruin my day or anything.

Dion Dawkins Value - Extend or Trade?
Success replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean, the Bills would REALLY have to like VanDemark. I suppose it's possible, but above average LT's aren't too easy to come by, and Beane loved our starting line last year. That would be a big roll of the dice, imo. Everything is probably on the table this offseason, so who knows. But I can't see them trading Dion. And on a side note, I thought Mahomes was kind of a baby for chirping back on that after the game. His right to do, of course - but c'mon. -
So....who do we have now for depth at center?

This is gonna be a BIG draft for the next 5 years of this team. More picks than I can remember us having in many years. It could really set us up well if we choose wisely.
-
It won't be better than the team we had in September last year - but it will be better than the team that lost to KC in the playoffs. Getting back to health will improve this team on its own. Then, we'll have to see how the draft & FA goes. We have more picks than usual in the draft, so may get at least a few quality starters.

As a Buffalo fan - who is your MLB & NBA team? Help needed
Success replied to Bills!Win!'s topic in Off the Wall
Root for the Yankees. Soto & Judge back to back in the line-up is going to be all kinds of fun. I'm Yankees & Knicks. NY all the way. -
Honestly, losing both him & Damien Harris early in the season really hurt our chances.

Pats now have 101 million in cap space - What would you do with that?
Success replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd be surprised if they didn't go QB in this draft. I'm really hoping it's Maye. It would be kind of like Bledsoe, the sequel. Bledsoe was a fine QB, but nowhere near the top QB's currently playing in the AFC. -

I wouldn't rule anything out - but it's unlikely. They're basically building a team from scratch if they go that route, w/ a whole new coaching staff. That kind of overhaul would generally need some time, even w/ an upgrade in talent. -
I'm still an Andy Reid fan. Not so much anything else KC-related. But man, do I love a sports story where someone turns the narrative about them on its head. Reid was that "can never win the big one" guy, and now he's regarded as the best in the game. Rightfully. Who knows. Maybe we'll get a narrative change one of these days.

I'm envious of the cap space - but not of how irrelevant that team is now. They have to cash in on one of the QB's in the upcoming draft. If they don't choose wisely, it's another 3-4 years down the tubes. -
Anyone like me wanting Beane to hurry up? (Cap)
Success replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
If there is one thing that being a Bills fan has instilled in me, at a very deep level - it's patience. -
It's not something I'm thinking. This is a mock, and doesn't reflect Beane's plans one iota. Beane has been a good drafter relative to the rest of the league. We went O w/ the 1st 2 picks last year, so I don't see the argument that they focus on D too much.
-
This is a mock. It's not Beane's draft board.

Bills 2024 Roster Breakdown (Current status)
Success replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Man, that sounds like a lot of work for Beane. I have no idea what to expect this season. I thought we had our best team in decades heading into '23, but this one seems like it could be a re-set. Which would be tough after the way the season ended. -
I love Morse. I also love Hyde, Tre & Poyer. But there just comes a time. I think Beane has been a great GM to this point - but this is that time in a franchise's development that he has to make those tough decisions. I'm really curious to see how it goes. I think he might surprise us.
-
Yeah - this one won't do at all.
-
Kind of just creates another need for them, too. They're already short good WR's.
-
I loved how Douglas played for us this year. But I agree w/ this - let's roll w/ Elam, Benford & Johnson. And they can grab someone later in the draft, too. If there is one position that this staff knows how to develop, it's CB.
