  1. But my opinion is BASED in facts. Who said they don't matter?
  2. My conclusion in the last post I made is final, and irrefutable. Everything else is just fluff.
  3. Mahomes has had a much better situation, from the start. It's cool, though. It doesn't mean Mahomes is a bad QB or anything.
  4. The bolded seems to be the go-to as some sort of "proof." But I don't think the bolded is accurate. I've heard plenty of analysts say that Allen has to carry his team more than any other top QB, and that Reid is one of the best coaches of all time. And analysts correctly hyped the Chiefs '23 defense, all through the season & playoffs.
  5. My entire life as a fan has been "next season - that's the one!" The biggest difference now is that it really could be, and can be for at least another decade or so. I mean, I was saying the same when we picked up Orton, and were having debates about Losman vs. Edwards. At least now, we know we'll be in the mix. It's not some vain, crazy hope.
  6. And it's on another team's board (which already & annoyingly has overflowing praise for Mahomes), literally within days of their team winning a 2nd straight SB.
  7. I thought it was a great move at the time, and it was pretty universally praised from what I remember. But for sure, it did NOT work out. Really, the worst-case scenario happened, with an aging player who relies on speed getting a bad knee injury. It's hard to think about what that money could have done to improve this team. Really hoping Miller can have an impact this season, and at least justify some of the money he's getting paid.
  8. I'd agree if "would" was "could." Probably would have been a good, close game - 50/50. But agreed w/ the general sentiment that fans are too assumptive about how that game might have gone.
  9. This is like a cherrypicking festival. Allen throws more picks than Mahomes, for sure. But he also had 44 TD's to Mahomes' 27 TD's this past year. That's more the kind of QB Allen is - he takes more risks, but makes more big plays. And how is his playoff ratio of TD's to INT's? And Allen was admittedly bad in last year's Cincy game. But why do you choose that game, but fail to mention Mahomes' meltdown in the 2nd half against Cincy in the game right after 13 seconds? Beyond that, you keep bringing up how KC stole a SINGLE PLAY from the Bills. No one ever said the Bills staff has zero creativity. Singling out 1 play for any kind of coaching comparison is the height of cherrypicking, and completely unscientific. My assertion is based on a much more broad overview of MANY stats and factors that make up a more true comparison between both QB's, both coaching staffs and both teams as a whole. It's a much more holistic view. Ergo, the facts actually DO support my assertion.
  10. So why does the world-class McDermott defense disappear in the playoffs, against more teams than the one led by the immortal Mahomes? It's a head-scratcher.
  11. Mirrored by every analyst & pundit? In the age of hot-take sports media? The fun thing on that is, we can all experience the joy of watching those narratives turn on a dime over the next decade+. I'm not sure if Allen would have gotten 6 for the Pats, but who knows. He might have gotten 7 or 8. And thank you, btw. It's awesome that I can have my own opinion about Josh Allen & the Bills - on a Bills board.
  12. Nah. Except for the Ravens playoff game, the D has underachieved in the playoffs. You present a lot of stats out of context.
  13. The Fitz/Fred Jackson/4 INT game! That game was the most exciting moment in 2 decades for me as a fan. But, otherwise, the bolded is sadly correct.
  14. I 100% believe Allen would be as successful as Mahomes if he was playing for KC. If not more.. What now?
  15. Who does that? You're on a board of fans that have had a chance to watch everything McDermott has done. To make a blanket conclusion about him because he backed into the playoffs one year w/ Tyrod Taylor? Not very scientific. I mean, what's your premise? Allen & Mahomes have had equal circumstances every step of the way, so obviously Mahomes is way better based on results?
  16. That's your sample size? We needed a miracle play by Andy Dalton & Tyler Boyd to even have a chance that year.
  17. We get it. KC's success is 100% due to Mahomes, not just the greatest QB in history, or the greatest athlete of all time, but one of the most amazing people to ever live on the planet Earth.
  18. In 10 years, more people outside of Buffalo will evaluate the trade as, "oh, it worked out great for both teams!" Pretty sure on that one.
  19. The Chiefs' SB success goes pretty well beyond Mahomes.
  20. We should really have a separate "Chiefs angst" forum.
  21. Those late '80's teams are some of my 1st memories. I agree w/ what you're saying here - at this point of my fandom, I have had plenty of entertainment from teams that either never had a chance, or had their chance but failed. But I still love watching Allen play, and watching this iteration of the Bills. Allen may not be the best of all time or even the best right now - but to me, he is the most entertaining QB to watch in NFL history. Maybe Fran Tarkenton comes close. I'm appreciating it. I love watching football every week now, and love seeing this team relevant again after the past few decades. I'm definitely trying to go into each season w/ more of a mindset of enjoying the games, and hoping for a title. I don't want to be in week 4 or 5 and thinking "none of this matters unless we get the prize." That said, I'll have no peace until we win it all. But that's kind of a separate concept.
  22. I'm gonna guess that they can chew gum & walk at the same time, and focus on both having a great draft, and doing what they can in FA to strengthen the team.
  23. That's awesome. Major kudos to him.
  24. I do agree w/ this general sentiment. But the drought was brutal. I definitely got my hopes up every season, but it was only the homer in me. That was such a tough time, and something I NEVER would have imagined when I started life as a sports fan. To go through 2 decades of sharing a division w/ the greatest, most enduring dynasty of all time. Crazy. But, it makes me appreciate these days more.
