  1. Man, I'm genuinely excited about Ray Davis.
  2. Man, if Groot can take that next step this year - it will go a long way toward the Bills contending for a SB.
  3. I don't know - it's just hard for me to imagine that if Josh Allen stays healthy, the Bills miss the playoffs. He's a top QB. And it's not like we're devoid of talent elsewhere. This has potential to be our best running game in the JA era, and the O-line is solid. We have some playmakers on defense also, even w/ Milano out (and he will be coming back, btw - hopefully for the home stretch). I just can't see us missing.
  4. I kind of like the lowered expectations - here and nationally. I mean, no one nationally has Buffalo in the title conversation this year. Under the radar is a good place to be. They might be right nationally, but I really like this team, and I definitely like this quarterback. The Bills rarely get blown out - games will be close, and if we can eek out enough of them, we can can be there in the end.
  5. Honestly, that's important. We should all visualize that. And if you don't believe it can be effective - it certainly can't hurt.
  6. It's possible. I don't rule anything out at this point. We don't have that many weaknesses, and we have a great QB. I think the running game stands a chance to be better. Given the production of Diggs & Davis for large portions of last season, I'm just not seeing a huge dropoff at WR. The line should be good on O. The defense is a little more iffy - but we'll see if Von can make it back, and if Groot takes a next step (that could really be a key, imo). The secondary is solid. I really don't know, but I take some solace in the idea that we very rarely get blown out over the past few years. The Cincy playoff game stands out, but most games seem to come down to the end, and JA is a clutch performer.
  7. This might be a better overall team that the one that went on a run in the 2nd half of the season last year. People forget how beat up we were by the time we got to the playoffs. Even some of the guys who were on the field were playing hurt - but we were missing too many guys. It hurts that Milano is out, but I'd give this team as much of a chance as last year's to win the division and get a high seed. We know how it is; most games will be close. Can we come out on top in those - as we did in the 2nd half run last season? Probably.
  8. We have the best QB in the league - of course we're making the playoffs.
  9. It's August. I have no worries in August. Just pure excitement and anticipation.
  10. You're not serious w/ this, are you? We're talking about 20 years vs. 1 year. And Brady joining a stacked team, while Belichick had a team that was clearly on the decline. If you want to move goalposts all over the place to prop up Mahomes, have at it - but the fact remains that the Pats were faves for close to 2 decades because of the QB/coach combo.
  11. Well, no one is or was arguing that Brady was a bad QB or anything. And that was a stacked Bucs team. Kinda moving the goalposts there, though. The point remains - the fact that the Pats were constant faves was not just Brady.
  12. But it IS an equation. And a logical one - most thought it was both that created the success New England had, and made them favorites every year.
  13. Or, maybe, it's the best QB/coach combo? You're leaving the GOAT coach out of that equation.
  14. I just pumped my fist at the Eagles pulling out a preseason game against the Pats. I realized that's probably not healthy. Does anyone hate the Pats as much as I do?
  15. It's easy to say "fall" - just a beautiful season in Western NY, and the football really adds to it. Love the crisp weather & foliage, the apples & grapes, Halloween, even raking leaves. But I kind of like all 4 of 'em. Winter could be shorter, but I still love the snow. And who could dispute spring & summer as awesome seasons? Life is good, truly.
  16. Allen & Mahomes are a wash. People can think Mahomes is better, and many do - but it's not significant enough in terms of the differential. You could even argue that Allen has played better in most of their matchups. Rosters are a bit of a wash, too - though the Chiefs' D has made more plays when it counts, and in the playoffs. I like McD, but Reid has solidified himself as one of the greatest of his era - in a sport where coaching matters more to winning a title than it does in any of the 3 other major sports.
  17. Why is anyone talking about releasing him? It sounds like he can come back in December. Sure, he'll be rusty - but that will be a massive addition heading into the home stretch & hopefully the playoffs.
  18. You know, it's really just about making the playoffs. If he can return in December, that's really the time of year we'll need him most. Obviously, terrible news, but that's a guy we need in the playoffs more than any other time. Hopefully guys like Dorian can step up.
  19. Makes sense, though you could have ended the sentence w/ "trolling." Of course, Judon has actual production when he's healthy - and he's a real team leader and not a distraction. Aside from that...
  20. You're not being serious w/ this, are you? Feels like you're just mailing it in these days, quite honestly.
  21. That's certainly an interesting take. How so?
  22. I would have LOVED Judon. Great leader, and a very talented pass rusher. Too expensive, though. On the plus side - man, are the Patriots bad now. I lived through those 2 decades - it was hard to imagine a day like today, when we rule the division, and the Pats are true tomato cans.
  23. Cool to see that even after a couple of SB titles, you're still so obsessed w/ Buffalo that you watch an entire preseason game & exaggerate about a player's performance.
  24. I didn't see the game, but I'm comparing the comments about Martin to his stats - his stats look good; was he bad?
  25. That doesn't really tell anyone how he fared against Mahomes individually.
