  1. I have kids - I don't understand your sentiment. I mean, I grew up at a time when rock stars were on booze or drugs, womanizing, disrespectful, et al. She's incredible in the way she presents a positive image & w/ how she conducts herself in general. She's great w/ her fans. She gives people who work on her tour huge bonuses - she's very generous. She's a fantastic role model, imo.
  2. I have SOME idea - Josh Allen gives us that. But yeah; gotta embrace the uncertainty right now. I like parts of it, like the lowered expectations nationally. We're not being talked about much, which I like just fine. This team could shock us and be amazing, or this could end up as the "step back" year most have predicted. I kind of love that. We'll know more in a week & a day.
  3. I seem to remember that he was hyped more for his ability to pin teams deep than his booming leg. I didn't think he did as well at that last season, but hopefully he rounds back into that form. That can be more of a game-changer than hitting a 60-yarder or something like that.
  4. Awesome post. Aside from letting a football team decide my mood for the next 5 or so months - I just love this time of year. Football Sundays are all-day affairs in my household - noon until midnight. Great food & drink, a lot of laughs, occasional tears. Who could ask for more?
  5. I feel great about this season, personally.
  6. Personally, I like BB now that he's not coaching. That guy LOVES the game - and knows it inside & out. He can be fascinating to listen to. And I'm rooting for McD, but if we miss the playoffs this year or have an early exit - BB could be our next coach.
  7. It certainly has potential to be better, given age & injuries last year. Too many new faces to guess, though. Excited to see how we look against the Cards.
  8. "Turnover machine" has become the opposing fan characterization of Allen. But no one ever brings in the TD to turnover ratio. Allen takes more chances, but he gets more results. Most opposing fans would take Allen over their QB in a second.
  9. So, at the end of this year when KC fans are coming here arguing that Mahomes is clearly the best over Allen - there won't be a debate anymore that Mahomes has much more to work with?
  10. Is this supposed to be a big thing? He's pretty average.
  11. Not sure yet - I usually try to go w/ a theme centered around the opponent, so probably something southwestern. Definitely some beer & vodka. I know this isn't conveying much information - but I wanted to stop by this thread to just express how much I love football Sundays. It's really a way of life.
  12. I could beat him at that thing when you use your keys to punch a hole in the bottom of the beer can, pull the tab and chug it. That's about it.
  13. We still remember the Cincy AFCCG, and the Eagles SB.
  14. This board MELTED DOWN a week ago. People gotta relax.
  15. The running game stands a chance of being MUCH better, also. Really like what I'm seeing from Davis. And the D stands to be better if Groot takes a step, and Von gets back to any kind of effectiveness.
  16. I kind of get it. There is a caution you build in after awhile - you don't want to be disappointed again, so you lower expectations. This is pervasive throughout sports. I'm excited and positive about the season, though. I can handle disappointment as a sports fan.
  17. At this point, we haven't really lost much in terms of the season. Samuel is week to week - with a little less than 3 weeks to go. MVS will take longer, but it's not like he was going to be in the top 3 anyway. People here are kind of panicking unnecessarily, imo.
  18. I think Kincaid could be kind of scary if he takes a next step and has a bigger role (both of which I see as likely). Maybe he's not technically a WR - but he kind of is. Almost how Kelce is w/ KC. Shakir might not be 'scary' in the traditional sense, but he's a playmaker and can hold it down as a top target in the WR group.
  19. We're still around 7-8 in most power rankings I've seen. I don't put a ton of stock in those, but it kind of just shows how spoiled we've become by expectations. Maybe we have less of a chance to contend for a title this year - but it's still a GOOD chance. We've been derailed by some key injuries in previous seasons, and particularly last year. If we happen to be the healthier team when January rolls around this year, I'd love our chances to finally get to the Superbowl.
  20. I can't disagree w/ that. I'd love to see us have at least a top 10 WR corps. Personally, I don't mind the focus on RB - we need a running game, and we're still not there yet. I really like what I saw out of Davis, and think he and Cook can potentially be the best tandem we've had under JA. We'll see, but that would improve our offense as much as an upgrade at the 3 or 4 receiver position. And I almost always rationalize lack of investment in the WR position by looking at what the Pats did for 15+ years while they were going to Super Bowls every other year. It was so rare to see them make that investment. Moss stands out. You can say guys like Welker & Edelman were great, but they were both late rounders that I'd guess we would hardly know if they played for a lot of other teams.
  21. Fair. But couldn't you say the same about a Hollins or Hamler? I get that we can see how they've actually done in the NFL - but we've also seen great QB's get the best out of receivers who were previously unheralded pretty often throughout the years. Manning & Brady were most notable on that front.
  22. This is all a pretty premature freak-out. They have said Samuel is week to week. That means it's low grade. There is probably a very good chance he's playing week 1. It's not like we're all of a sudden in a more dire situation than a month ago. The WR group was always going to be a question mark this year. I don't chalk this up as some "Beane fail" or anything. Another WR pick in the 4th round wasn't going to make any discernible difference this season.
  23. This board can be pretty surreal. We have Josh Allen. I am stoked for September. And I will be every single year that we have Josh Allen. I have no idea what to expect - but I think we absolutely could be as competitive as any team we've had in the JA era. People are freaking out about the WR position, but this still has potential to be a potent offense w/ 2 very good TE's and an improved running game.
  24. And, ironically, the year they had him they didn't win a SB.
