NFL 2024 Kickoff: Ravens @ Chiefs, Sept 5 - 8:20pm

Seeing a lot of criticism online for the Worthy trade. I'll keep saying it: they would have gotten Worthy if they had just stood pat. They gave us Cole Bishop for free. -

Ravens are hanging tough - but man, there is not a lot of margin for error against the Chiefs. That's a good team this year on both sides of the ball. -

Gotta admit - the Chiefs are a little scary. They look a bit better than last year. EDIT: wrong thread. -

Reid really is the difference-maker for that team. Even though that drive stalled - the variety of plays so far is impressive. Really creative. -

Not a Ravens fan - but I will root for KC to lose every single game from now until the sun burns out. -

I think I'm more excited than usual. How will Coleman look? Will Kincaid be dominant? Is Von back? Has Groot taken a next step? How will the LB corps hold up without Milano? Can the safeties hold it down? And heck....football is back! Man, do I love Sundays in the fall. Even during the drought, I loved football Sundays.- 491 replies

I mean, the calls that went in the Chiefs' favor in those games were pretty universally criticized. I saw a lot of KC fans online who knew they got the better of the officiating those days. And that's fine - officiating isn't perfect, and every team also has games where they feel they came out on the short end of things. But those were huge games; I've seen Buffalo have favorable calls in some games, but very few in the postseason.

It's stunning he doesn't have one already. No QB has been more important to his team than JA. Consistently.

Addition by subtraction, imo. We'll know soon enough. I think Allen will be a liberated man.
-
I thought he was really good at times when he was filling in before. He's not great in coverage, but is a really good tackler & covers the run lanes well.

I suppose if I was objective, I might favor the Jets this year. But I'm miles from objective. They really haven't proven anything yet, and AR is old. Brady really changed the expectations on QB longevity - but he's more the exception than the rule.
-
It's important that we beat the Texans this year. That narrative that would follow a loss w/ the Diggs storyline would be intolerable.

I have kids - I don't understand your sentiment. I mean, I grew up at a time when rock stars were on booze or drugs, womanizing, disrespectful, et al. She's incredible in the way she presents a positive image & w/ how she conducts herself in general. She's great w/ her fans. She gives people who work on her tour huge bonuses - she's very generous. She's a fantastic role model, imo.

I have SOME idea - Josh Allen gives us that. But yeah; gotta embrace the uncertainty right now. I like parts of it, like the lowered expectations nationally. We're not being talked about much, which I like just fine. This team could shock us and be amazing, or this could end up as the "step back" year most have predicted. I kind of love that. We'll know more in a week & a day.

I seem to remember that he was hyped more for his ability to pin teams deep than his booming leg. I didn't think he did as well at that last season, but hopefully he rounds back into that form. That can be more of a game-changer than hitting a 60-yarder or something like that.

I feel great about this season, personally.

Personally, I like BB now that he's not coaching. That guy LOVES the game - and knows it inside & out. He can be fascinating to listen to. And I'm rooting for McD, but if we miss the playoffs this year or have an early exit - BB could be our next coach.
