  1. No, we certainly don't. But the point is that teams adapt to other strengths that they have. Tennessee found a way to be in the game for the full 60 against KC, even though they completed 5 passes. We have much more talent than TN overall, and Keenum has led a team to the playoffs in his career. He's not a scrub, and he doesn't stink.
  2. I think this team is about to go on a run similar to what they did after the "Hail Murray." It's not like our losses were blowouts that would make you re-think how good this team really is. We're as good as anyone, and better than most.
  3. The Bills tend to be cautious with injuries. JA will only play if he feels good and there is no risk of making things worse.
  4. Exactly. There is talent all over this offense - they'll just approach it a different way. And as bad as the D looked at times yesterday, it's still among the best in the league. I don't think Allen misses any time - but if he does, we're not falling off a cliff.
  5. Every response to my comment has been the same. The point is that good teams can still find a way to compete, whatever that is. We have a capable backup QB. We won't be lost.
  6. Malik Willis almost beat the Chiefs yesterday. This team would be fine w/ Keenum for an extended period. I doubt it comes to that, but if it happened, we're built to succeed regardless. Too much recency bias based on a bad game yesterday.
  7. That's a bit extreme. Case Keenum is a very capable backup, and we have arguably the easiest part of our schedule coming up. We'd still be in contention after 6 weeks, even if JA couldn't play that whole time.
  8. Cousins can be scary. He's a capable QB, but generally not fear-inducing. Still, every once in awhile he really seems locked in and plays at an elite level.
  9. Might be best to put him in a cryogenic freeze & thaw him out when they find a cure. He can help some future generation Bills team get to a title. I guess it just wasn't to be.
  10. The speculation on this thread keeps getting more extreme. I feel like in an hour, they might have to amputate.
  11. If the playoffs started today, they'd be the 1 seed. Nothing needs to be fixed, imo.
  12. The NFL world seems to be reacting in a predictable way - kind of a "we knew it! With his style of play..." It was a pretty standard hit that every QB gets once in awhile when they drop back....
  13. I guess it's a day for overreactions. Shut Allen down for the season? It's time to dial back on saying he'll be elite for however many years? Cripes. I'm not saying he'll be fine, because we don't know. But it just sounds precautionary now, and he did throw an insanely long pass on the last play yesterday.
  14. I don't disagree, and I usually can't stand sports cliches like that. But to my eyes, they had more energy. That is not scientific, at all - but it was the impression I had all game. The Bills looked flat by comparison.
  15. When a great offense falls apart - the defense they're facing sometimes has a bit to do w/ that.
  16. I feel like many fans are watching the NFL for the 1st time. If great teams over the years never lost a few games to lesser teams (a.k.a. had a "clunker"), then we wouldn't have to endure seeing the '72 Dolphins celebrate every time the last undefeated team loses a game.
  17. I'll get some negative reactions - but we do not have great coaching. We have good coaching. And that's alright. It's hard to find a truly great coach, and I would say there are very few in the league right now. But our coaches are just a little above average, imo. They gameplan well, and make decent adjustments, but they're never going to be transcendent or "wow" us.
  18. Day to day sounds alright. His last throw to Davis was pretty solid.
  19. If I had pearls, I'd clutch 'em. Overreaction Monday.
  20. 2021 was a missed opportunity. But there will be plenty more. I mean, has anyone watched the NFL for awhile? The best teams in history have had bad games.
  21. Pretty hot takey thread. When he has played this season, he has been a force. Players can have bad games once in awhile.
  22. Allen has had 6 bad quarters. It happens to all QBs. He's not all of a sudden rookie or 2nd year Allen again.
  23. I'm as concerned as anyone about how we looked - but this was a DIVISION GAME. Except for the Bills, both the Jets and Phins often gave the Patriots fits during their near 2 decade reign. It didn't matter how good those Patriots teams were. Division games can be scrappy and tough. And as one of their players said, this is not the "same ol' Jets." They had a terrible game last week, but Saleh is a real coach, and he has changed the culture there. Wilson has skills and can be very good when he doesn't make mistakes. That defense is absolutely legit. They had the better gameplan yesterday, and wanted it more. If anything, that was my biggest concern; their energy just seemed better (not a scientific observation). We have some real division rivalries again. It's fun. I'm now looking much more forward to the next game in Buffalo - and I don't have much doubt that the Bills will respond accordingly. We're still the best team in this division. There are too many overreactions today.
  24. This feels a lot like the "Hail Murray" point of the 2020 season. The hype had started to die down at that point, and that game really put us under the radar. Then we just tore through the league until late January. Here's hoping we see a repeat. The pressure of being the "inevitable" SB champ is real, and a distraction. Now, they can just play some football.
