  1. Brady shouldn't forget that we have the league MVP.
  2. They could have, unless SF took him. Worthy was probably gonna be there if they didn't trade.
  3. It's cool that our game is the biggest one on the NFL's first Sunday, by a pretty wide margin. I kind of wish there were a few more interesting ones going on. The 4:00 slot has a couple, but the early games look like a snoozefest.
  4. The national discussion around this trade still annoys me. It's over 90% that both teams end up w/ the same player even without the trade.
  5. The "L" isn't that consequential. But I was more encouraged by how they looked - old & slow. Chris Jones didn't seem effective for large portions of the night. Their receiving corps isn't stellar to begin with, and now they might be without Rice & Worthy for awhile. Chargers receivers were getting open pretty easily. That's the most I have seen Mahomes have to carry that team. Yesterday looked more like the average Bills/Allen game than the well-oiled machine we have come to expect out of KC.
  6. It's just a game - but the Chiefs looked OLD, and slow. It wouldn't really shock me if they ended up w/ a WC this year.
  7. I could have done without this thread.
  8. Prater is as good a pickup as you could hope for, despite his age. Pretty reliable over the years, and we might try a few longer kicks w/ him in there.
  9. I've always thought that it would terrify the league if we decided not to have any kickers on the roster. Just go for it on 4th all the time, no matter where they are on the field. Not sure how it would work out, but it's a fun thought.
  10. I definitely doubt that he was lining up 10 yards off if that isn't exactly what the coaches wanted him to do. As to the OP - I thought he had a decent game. He looked like a capable corner out there - not close to elite, but solid.
  11. This is really it. I think my POV on the entire sport will change. I'll still watch every game and even be totally into it, but it won't be this obsessive intense focus that I have now. I won't have that 100 lb. chip on my shoulder anymore.
  12. Lamar, Mahomes & Allen are all top tier QB's. I find that the debates about who is 'better' get mired in a lot of team accomplishments and other basically irrelevant factors. I think one of my biggest pet peeves in life is that many fans think it's a slam dunk that Mahomes is the best, or that he's in a tier of his own, because "rings." I don't think Bills, Ravens or Chiefs fans would trade the guy they've got for either of the other guys. This is an incredible era for QB's. I find it hilarious when Pats fans try to pump up Brady by saying the QB's were so much better in his era, after they spent nearly 2 decades trashing Manning as a one & done choker.
  13. So, if it's worst case and both Benford & White are out - are we talking Ingram & Strong as the starters on Sunday?
  14. Gotta appreciate these days. I remember when the biggest thing in our fandom was a debate over whether Trent Edwards or JP Losman should start.
  15. I really liked how he looked pre-injury last year, and was hoping for a year 2 breakout. Sad for him, for sure. We're all kinds of deep at that position, though.
  16. Most seem pretty upset by this move. Sounds like he's a good leader, also. I hope Beane is at least considering this. We need an upgrade in that unit.
  17. I think he's a bit overrated. He'll be a good culture guy there, but as a coach, I think he's kind of middlin'. He benefitted greatly when the Titans had those good years from having excellent coordinators, and Tannehill playing the best football of his life.
  18. Reminds me of the Mets/Soto deal - great player, WAY too much money.
  19. It's true that injury concerns absolutely need to be part of the consideration. But, sometimes that doesn't work out, like when we chose Troupe over Gronk. It's a tough one. But I get the point you're making here.
  20. Not a bad point, and true. But it kind of emphasizes how it's a little more of a homer take.
  21. They're pretty even in terms of how they play. Are you basing that conclusion just on rings?
  22. I guess I'm higher on Coddrington than most. I think he's one of the better returners we've had over the years.
  23. It bugs me when people say it's a slam dunk that Mahomes is a better QB than Allen because "rings." No matter how you feel about McDermott & this coaching staff - there is a pretty significant disparity between Reid & Spags, and McDermott & McDermott. If you go back through SB champions & participants, it's usually the better coaches that make it more consistently. I like McDermott, but it's just a fact that he's not at the level of what KC has. Personally, I think Allen is a little better than Mahomes, but it's pretty razor thin no matter which side you're on. I wouldn't do a straight up trade between those guys.
  24. I'm not even sure why Beane's "misses" are part of this discussion. Do people think he should be able to see that a guy he picked in the 1st is going to get hurt?
  25. Kind of a low impact call-out.....
