When he trimmed down to 267, he played OLB in a 3-4.
He’s a DE here, who will crash inside on rush downs like Smoot and Lawson.
I have zero interest in seeing Douglas return at CB due to his declining athleticism, however his skill set translates to safety very well, and we need meaningful competition there.
I feel like his verbiage doesn’t match up with the feedback McBean gave.
He’s saying the offensive rhythm changed and that was tough to adjust to post injury.
McBean seemed to almost be critical of his effort or preparation.
And we also need to remember that it isn’t 2014 anymore, and the cap has gone up around 50 million the last few years. Guys will get “big” contracts because there is more money going around.
