  1. The team loses every single year so I'm not sure how the "hysteria" is wrong. The most talented WR has been traded away, the 4th hurt his toe, the WR who replaced Sammy has a chipped sternum, the starting WR whom the GM hyped is already off the team. It's setting up for the same as always. Go ahead and call it out, but you know it's going to be the same as always.
  2. You were always ripping other fans and always were wrong on the BuffaloBills.com message board, so you might as well keep going now.
  3. You do realize that that our GM was hyping this move at the podium? Hyping a 36 year old WR. Trade Sammy, hype a 36 year old, Streater gets hurt, 36 year old retires, no big deal.
  4. Brady also took a WR group led by Jabar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell to the AFC Title game. He won his first Super Bowl with David Patten, Christian Fauria and Troy Brown. There are no conditions, he is the best ever.
  5. Geez man. McDermott and Beane have done nothing to convince me they're onto something. Quite the opposite actually.
  6. Uninformed? Bitching? That's a starting WR on the depth chart who just walked out. So far this looks like the same terrible organization as always. Hyping veterans well beyond their prime, trading what little talent they do have, losing good players to the Pats, hyping backup QBs. Meanwhile you watch Mahomes get into the end zone twice on 10 throws and Watson run for a TD. These FO guys are supposed to know more than common fans, they are paid like it. But the 36 year old that Beane was just hyping as evidence of the Bills in win-now mode just walked out. With Sammy's trade and Streater's injury this WR depth chart looks really nice....
  7. Where is Mix Master Beane now? Hes the one who hyped Boldin as the proof the Bills weren't beginning a rebuild.
  8. The Bills were sitting at #10 and could have had him or Watson and passed on both. Two more AFC opponents may have grabbed their QB. The steady Mahomes reports have been flooding in since OTA's. In Buffalo we do it a little different. We hype 5th rounders.
  9. You got fans calling up radio stations to trade or bench Tyrod and give Peterman a chance to start under the premise hey you never know.... This town is so desperate for one of their underdog stories to work out. You had fans who couldn't give up on Trent, the fans that agreed with Nix that Fitzpatrick was a franchise QB, fans who think that EJ never got a fair shake, fans who still think Baltimore's old backup is suddenly going to get good in his 3rd year of starting and now Peterman deserves his shot. A real plan would have been Mahomes or Watson at #10. Not these long shot, backup, 5th, 6th and 7th Rounders the Bills trot out there for years at a time.
  10. What evidence is there that McDermott is a "fairly modern NFL thinker"? When he talked about offfense it sounded archaic.
  11. Nate Peterman is not a plan. A 5th Rounder was not someone the NFL thought highly of, and 5th Rounders don't usually pan out.
  12. McDermott's Offensive Approach = Jauron's Run the ball on first and second, get into 3rd and short, short passes, kick field goals. Keep it safe, punting is not a bad thing. McDermott talked run first because of the Buffalo weather and so has Dennison. Pop Gun 2.0
  13. Agree. 3 years for Trent, 3 more for Fitzpatrick, Tyrod now going on his 3rd year. 9 years pouring time into backup level talents. All the excuses you get about time on the system, OTA reps, knowing he is the starter, support of a run game, none of that has mattered at all. How much further ahead would the Bills have been if they simply took Mahomes or Watson at #10?
  14. I don't support Tyrod as the long term starter. He is Baltimore's backup going on his 3rd year of starting. The Bills have been trying this strategy forever, take someone's backup and try to make them into a starter claiming that more time in the system, reps in OTAs, and knowing that they are the starter will be the key. Bledsoe, Holcomb, Brohm, Trent (for 3+ years), Fitzpatrick for 3 more years, Orton, now Tyrod. Taking other people's backups, trying to make them starters and wondering why we aren't winning and having to fire our Coaches every 2 years.
  15. I believe that talent wins in sports. How many years have we heard in Buffalo that this old player is going to teach the young guys how to do it? Never makes any difference. Kelsey was supposed to be a role model, so was Fred, so is Eric Wood, so was TO, Orton was going to teach EJ. Its talent that matters. Talent drives winning. That's all it is.
  16. To me Peterman is an after thought. He's not a plan, or a stop gap starter or anything. He's a 5th Rounder who statistically is apt to fall out of the league.
  17. I think the OP has merit here. Who rolled their eyes when McDermott talked about his offense? Run the ball, we play in Buffalo so that means we need to be a physical team, get into 3rd and manageable. Sounds a lot like Marrone's philosophy and Rex's playbook. Then we are playing an outdated Tampa-2 defense with Leslie Frazier. That system was outdated when Jauron ran it in 2006. Tiny linebackers and zone corners. Then you ask that Bills fans get excited about Anquan Boldin. If this was 2005 we would be excited. It's 2017, he's 37, with an average ypc that has declined 5 straight seasons to 8.7 last year. Jauron droned on and on about working hard and looking at the tape to correct the mistakes. We've also seen in Buffalo how trading away your talent for draft picks works. Lynch, Peters, we lost both of those trades. We've seen it with other franchises too - Mangini running out Kellen Winslow, Braylon Edwards and bringing in a ton of old Jets. McDaniels shipped out Marshall and Scheffler and ditched Cutler for Orton. So a group full of hard workers and lunch pail guys doesn't get it done. It speaks poorly on the Bills organization that three Coaching staffs in a row had the same run first mentality, same just go with a backup QB mentality, and could not figure out how to use a #1 WR who was praised for his run after the catch ability at Clemson.
  18. I think the Bills have line of sight to 20 years of no Playoffs easily.
  19. Wasn't Sammy supposed to be a YAC machine coming out of college? This team couldn't figure out how to get him one bubble screen a game.
  20. The Bills made the trades, therefore neither one will work out because the Bills have a long-standing tradition of losing.
  21. We've led the league in rushing for two straight years and have finished 7-9 and 6-10. What do you think? Maybe about time we got with 2017 football and improved our passing offense? Or maybe Marrone was right and running every down is the way to go.
  22. Exactly. Three years later and Whaley whiffed on QB, Coach, Watkins. His best accomplishment is the Eagles calling him about McCoy. Before that it was 71 year old Nix who again whiffed on Coach and who got caught on tape bashing his QB and gave away a HOF RB for complete garbage. Now Beane comes in and ships 2 of the Bills Top 4 talents out the door for average players and some picks? And after 22 years of not one Playoff win I'm supposed to have faith that he knows what he's doing? All around the Bills reek of losing. Pegula can't find the right people to get either team on the Playoffs, Brandon is still here, and we trade what little talent we have for more draft picks. This regime has already shown its cards to me, and it's not good. Gilmore walks, draft a CB to replace him and pass on two excellent college QBs while giving the Ravens backup QB his 3rd year starting ala Trent and Fitzpatrick and talk about hard work, running the ball and character. YAWN. We've heard all of this before.
  23. Doc that's the thing....these guys are paid to know more than common fans. So how is Beane any different? I don't listen to McDermott, I've tuned him out completely at this point. Walking cliche generator.
  24. I like Boldin, who doesn't? He's tough as nails. But he's 36 and his ypc has trended straight downward for 5 years in a row now. And our GM is hyping the move.
