  1. Pats* received the most yards gained via pass interference in the league in 2017: http://www.nflpenalties.com/penalty/defensive-pass-interference?year=2017 If a rule change hurts them more than the Bills I am in favor of it. :-)
  2. The $ matters obviously, but getting this done now allows the Bills to avoid panicking later on depending on what happens with the Gaines situation.
  3. I had another forward thinking idea, but if the mods think this deserves its own thread they can move it. Since father time won't kill the Patriots* we need to look at other options. Step one: Get Terry Pegs on the competition committee Step two: Terry Pegs uses his position to change the rules so microphones in helmets/hand signals from the sidelines become illegal We already have a young coach who could then be signed as the "quarterback" of the defense. Player/coach Sean would also be invaluable as an on field motivator (see: clapping). Patriots* would then be forced to sign Hoodie as the quarterback of their defense, but he is so old and slow. Also not a good motivator. He might be able to call good plays but it would be like the Patriots* defense is playing a man down every play. That solves the defense. Not sure on offense what to do yet. Maybe change the rules so only first round picks can play QB? (Brady totally has to retire or change positions) The braintrust can come up with something better. But the beauty is that we've already got Terry Pegs on the competition committee to make it happen.
  4. I agree. Tyrod's TD/INT efficiency coupled with a relatively inexpensive contract (for a non-rookie) has more value to a QB desperate team than most would expect. Part of what makes this offseason so much fun is waiting for this situation to work itself out.
  5. I would add role models should be held to a higher standard. But winning also tends to cure all... With regards to the original article, thanks for sharing OP. Gave me goosebumps!!
  6. I don't know. Most be losing my mind. Probably thinking of other things in this thread when I wrote that. I love the climate - no humidity. But I miss the "green" grass/trees/ferns etc that it comes with.
  7. I guess this eliminates any chance of the skins putting transition tag on cousins
  8. Yes and no. The paperwork should matter for NFL salary cap issues. But him retiring may be different in legalese than an injury retiring him. I think if he just retired he would have to pay back some of the up front bonus for not serving the entire contact. Semantics to you and I but important distinction for the lawyers...
  9. They need to avoid the nonstop commercial breaks of the NFL. Maybe do split screen type commercials only except between quarters?
  10. I agree. Hopefully something reasonable can be worked out with the Bills, but if not there are teams with a lot of cap to burn and he plays a position that gets paid high dollars (Stephon Gilmore anyone?).
  11. Unrestricted Free Agents QB Joe Webb - could go either way, better be cheap. RB Mike Tolbert - gone RB Travaris Cadet - JAG, replace with a cheap rookie RB Taiwan Jones - gone WR Deonte Thompson - would resign on the cheap, otherwise gone WR Jordan Matthews - resign if healthy, price is right WR Brandon ate - gone WR Jeremy Butler - gone OT Seantrel Henderson - gone DL Kyle Williams - retiring? DL Cedric Thornton - would resign on the cheap, otherwise gone LB Preston Brown - gone LB Ramon Humber - gone CB EJ Gaines - Would like back, but what is his market like? CB Leonard Johnson - would resign on the cheap, otherwise gone CB Shareece Wright - gone S Colt Anderson - gone S Shamarko Thomas - gone Exclusive Rights Free Agents TE Nick O’Leary - would resign on the cheap, otherwise gone TE Logan Thomas - gone DE Eddie Yarbrough - would resign on the cheap, otherwise gone CB Lafayette Pitts - gone It's encouraging that most of these are replacement/rotational type guys. The only two we would really miss would be Kyle and Gaines. Kyle we may have no control over if he retires, and Gaines might be striking it rich on the free agent market. I would resign one of Deonte Thompson/Jordan Matthews if for no other reason to have some continuity in the WR room to go with Benjamin/Jones.
  12. That's an old statistic, like Passer Rating. The QBR of calves is "cottage-cheesiness". ESPN came out with it a few years ago.
