Allen and Diggs on SI Kids cover
Another Fan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As did I. I still recall the funny sports cards in there I was a big enough nerd to watch this as well at times -
@Gugny @SinceThe70s Hi Guys, Just curious if you are going to watch this series I might check it out eventually. From my local library though I've read The Bad Guys Won, Doc's bio, and Darryl's bio Finding My Way. I mean I think I've heard most of the stories of that club. Cootersgate for example lol. The plane ride back after Game 6 in Houston. I'm not feeling it at the moment. But if you guys recommend I might start

Anything you look back on fondly that hasn’t aged well?

2014- road opener against the Bears. Pretty much nobody including myself thought the Bills had a chance to win that day. This was right after the Doug vs Doug screaming matches in training camp. The Bears were supposed to be a contender that year but it never happened. Anyway I remember Chicago went ahead 7-0 and I decided to go out for a jog.... I wanted to do something constructive versus being aggravated. Get exercise. To my surprise when I returned in the 3rd quarter the Bills were actually winning! I thought about not listening to the game anymore as I might have been a jinx now. But yeah the game went into OT with that memorable run by Freddie where he stiffed the Chicago defender down to reach the goal line. It was cool that it was Buffalo's first road win as well in Chicago. Meaning they had then beaten every team on the road at some point in franchise history.

Scott pulled himself together enough when it mattered but umm that game did him no favors to fans who say he was a solid kicker overall. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is the only road victory the Bills had against the Raiders? I still don't think they won in Oakland... this was the L.A Raiders

Jim Kelly Was Better Than Brady Imo..
Another Fan replied to Billsfanatic8989's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Emotional intelligence on the field I think is his strong suit. -
It's gonna take more than one year to reverse 20 years of one-sided games to a neutral fan. An analogy would be the Twins and the Yankees. The Twins couldn't and can't beat the Yankees to save their lives. As a fan of neither team it would take more than one year of Minnesota success against them for me to believe the Twins could compete with the Yankees

Jim Kelly Was Better Than Brady Imo..
Another Fan replied to Billsfanatic8989's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since everybody is backing Tom to the 5th power, I would say this for Jimbo: He took much more massive hits than Brady in his day. During the drought I remember watching the 1995 playoff game vs the Steelers. You know kind of nostalgia for when the team was still solid. Jim took like a massive shot that day from a Steeler defender I forgot who. Van Pelt had to go in for him. I've honestly never seen Brady take a hit like that in his career. And this coming from a poster that would have been a Reich over Kelly guy if message boards were around then -
??????? For me not quite there yet lol

In your opinion, what’s the hardest position?
Another Fan replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was just going to post C but you beat me to it. If you have a bad center the run game suffers and you'll have people in the QB's face all day. Kent Hull was always a favorite Bill of mine for that reason. Underrated player/understated gentleman. R.I.P coming up on 10 years already -
Thinking about moving back to the Buffalo area.

Granted I don’t know what it’d be like to live there permanently but it’s one of my favorite neighborhoods to visit as well. Good food. Nice area without people being snooty, etc…. -
Josh Allen is...the Oldest?

It’s crazy to think EJ Manuel is only 31 years old for however long ago that seems he played here -
I know a few and have to work with a few managers that fit that profile. Sometimes I find just saying nothing/avoiding them at all means is best.

For what seems like a rather generic topic for a Buffalo fan board I don’t ever remember there being a thread on it. Searching it here just brought instances where it was brought up in tailgating meals in threads…. I remember eating one in Anderson’s in Williamsville when I was around 7. All these years later it was still good. I tried Charlie The Butcher as I thought that was the best of them all. Went to the one by Sahlens stadium in that train station center. I thought it was good but not something I’d go out of way for. Anderson’s was just as good. Wegmans sells them by me. There actually not bad but not like the real thing.

Reasons like that are why I have no emotional attachment to ball players in my mid 30s. Yeah I’m not the type to boo people unless they aren’t giving effort. But they gotta understand that comes with the territory. Especially Lindor. If you want all the glory of a 350 million contract you gotta takes the crap that comes along with it. screw them
-
Just from what I read here I'd give Rojas another season but wouldn't lose sleep if they go in a different direction. I am not making excuses at all for Lindor but a lot of guys struggle their first year in New York after being traded from a more laid back market. See what Cohen does in the offseason. Did you watch any of the Koosman ceremony? He was before my time but it seemed long overdue. You might be familiar with this show Growing Pains. I liked it as a kid. The writers must have been Mets fans. The main families name was the Seavers and the Koosmans were the family next door that were never seen. It was supposed to be taking place on Long Island as well 😁

Comparison to 90s SB teams
Another Fan replied to BoccesOnTransit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It still is actually. But I do agree in general a 50 yard field goal is kind of viewed almost normal today versus 30 years ago where it was kind of a stretch. The little kid in me still gets excited when I see kickers try 60 plus yard field goals. It's like the half court shot in basketball to close out the quarters kind of thing. -
The Timeless Thread....Things That Have Aged Well
Another Fan replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
I guess this is personal opinion but I like this song and think it sounds good versus most stuff today. I just know it always used to come on worst song lists. -
I don’t know if I’m average but I’m ultimately just another 🤣. Kidding aside I’d say I’m something of an average fan. My main motivation for reading and joining the boards is because it’s rare I come across Buffalo fans to talk too in my day to day life. I’d be good for one game a year to attend if I lived more local I’d say.

@Gugny @SinceThe70s Hey guys. Still try to check in here every now and then to hear your guys takes on stuff. Well yesterday was the first game I watched some of in a while. At least it was a win. But I feel really really foolish taking it for granted the team could coast to an 85 win season and win the division last month. I think Cohen's honeymoon as owner has just about came to an end. I thought initially he definitely talked a good game but I still wanted to see on the field results before I christened him the savior of the franchise. It's ultimately just lip service as far as I'm concerned. That being said even if the year does turn out to be a total bust, I'd give the benefit of the doubt there's a learning curve involved for him. It should be interesting.

A little disagreement among Rams fans

I admit it made me chuckle a little at first but then it got extremely distasteful to watch. What’s up with people recording it on their phones? A saw at least 3 people doing so -

Finally finished Queens Gambit. Decent but not a masterpiece. It dragged a little in the middle... maybe that I just couldn't relate to her. Still solid show. 3 out of 4 stars imo
