  1. Same here. I thought all the clubs in high school seemed very cliquey at the time.
  2. Says the guy that probably still rocks his varsity jacket ?
  3. Ironically when I graduated high school I lost a lot of weight (about 60 lbs) and used to run in 5k’s. Typically I’d finish somewhere in the middle of all the runners. I still enjoy running if my muscles don’t get too sore afterwards
  4. Perhaps this isn’t a fair judgment but my guess would be most members did? Sometimes when I read the posts on the Bills a lot of posters are very knowledgeable about the X’s and O’s of the game. Imo, that comes from playing football on a competitive level. I get the arguments against PFF in that regard. I didn’t play sports at all in high school with the school. The main reasons were I was out of shape and unathletic at the time, transportation woulda been an issue with both my parents working, and well I really didn’t like most of the student population lol. It was a small catholic high school. Anyone else?
  5. You had sex recently?
  6. In pronunciation of name only!
  7. Lol. I admit I can be petty like that as well. Not liking certain things, places, schools, music, movies, or sports teams because they remind me of somebody I don't like. 1985 Yankees baseball. Donnie Baseball just hits a dramatic walk-off run. And notice how many hard core Yankee fans there are sitting where the home run landed. A loyal fan base lol.
  8. I remember years and years back I found out one of my relatives as well as a co-worker were both Mets fans who grew up in the Bronx. And I'm just like how the hell does that happen lol? Obviously liking the Mets I wasn't being judgmental at all, I thought it was cool! My relative explained the part of the Bronx they grew up by the Throgs Neck Bridge was about equal distance to Yankee and Shea Stadium, and at the time Shea was a little safer to go to and cheaper. The other guy I think just likes to be a contrarian kinda like me! I remember reading this article on Doug Marrone as well a long time ago when he was the Bills coach: https://www.syracuse.com/orangefootball/2010/12/baseball_heart_football_body_d.html It's been so long I thought I dreamt it up! But it got explained in it he and Michael Kay both grew up in the same area in the Bronx surrounded by Mets fans who they had to defend their "territory" from. Marrone's grandfather worked as an usher at Yankee Stadium. It just goes to show me NYC will just like whosever trendier at the moment
  9. All depends on the person I guess. To me it’d remind me of when you can actually see cigarette ads.
  10. Lol But kidding aside there’s definitely certain things people hold more dear/you can’t price tags on. The Marlboro ad is cool as well. I think if the OP tried hard enough he can find a Bills fan willing to pay out some serious $$$ for it
  11. For obvious reasons this song wouldn't make sense during a pandemic! Still this was written back in the days you could still walk up to a business and fill out paper applications versus all applications being online
  12. Agreed. I've not made the best decisions with my life a lot of times but one of the few things I pat myself on the back for is never joining Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc... I have no desire to get sucked up into that cesspool which is now worse then ever
  13. I like Billy Buffalo
  14. Lol surprised no one posted yet if this counts. The Talking Proud song as well I’m sure some would remember fondly.
  15. Prodigy- Smack My B word Up Nirvana- Smells Like Teen Spirit (some might disagree but I just see that song as being very that grunge era vs 2020)
  16. Believe me I hear what you’re saying. At the same time though I’m just not sure any Bills fan can really be too hard on Sean. I mean it was a team that hadn’t made the playoffs in 17 years and he was able to accomplish that twice in his first three seasons. All the while seemingly changing the culture around the team where I felt prior regimes just tweaked things here or there. There’s ways he can improve no doubt but you’d have to say he’s been solid overall so far no? Btw, Eagles were a playoff team last year
  17. I vaguely remember John Cangelosi as a New York Met. It's funny when I googled him from his time with the club one of the first images that came up was him making the cover of Sports Illustrated for a brawl. But he had a book out last year where he detailed his experiences as a major/minor leaguer. Ball players cut from his cloth were always my favorite: scrappy, no nonsense, lead by example, etc... His first year with the White Sox he stole 50 bases. Stolen bases in general have seen to be a lost art. Even though he wasn't a Met all that long he did spend a lot of time in the minors playing in WNY. I thought it was cool he seems to think very fondly of his time in Buffalo along with the people there. http://www.herdchronicles.com/single-post/2019/07/22/Leading-by-Example Interestingly enough one of his managers there was Terry Collins. But yeah in quarantine it looks like a book I wouldn't mind reading.
  18. Even sports sometimes I don’t bring it up... My one co worker is a big Patriots fan. Since I like and respect him otherwise it’s just not worth going there at work
  19. The 1st game of the 2012 season comes to mind against the Jets. I know he struggled toward the end of 2011 but it was rumored he had cracked ribs. The Jets opener was supposed to be a statement game that year and he was pretty bad. Topped off by a pick 6 to start the second half. I kinda got pessimistic that day going forward As others eluded he’s a very likeable dude and I give him credit for keep reinventing himself to have that lengthy a career. But teams I think are foolish to think he’s a long term solution
  20. Because someday this crap will all be over. Nothing shall stop us.
  21. I still remember watching the 2013 game when the Falcons kicked the winning field goal and I heard cheers in the stands! They might have done all right financially with it but Bills fans should be glad those days are over ?. The 2011 Redskins game was the only win in Canada I think
  22. Yeah I figured if you’d gone only to a Toronto game those years you really wouldn’t get a real home game experience hence the title. I woulda put Orchard Park in the title but there might be some fans here that were only in the Rockpile. You never know ?
