  1. Shouldn't have read this thread. Now I've got a headache.
  2. Once again, thanks for your work, putting this together.
  3. You must be a glutton for punishment listening to that show. It might be the worst sports show out there, which is saying a lot. Carton is a repugnant know nothing moron. Makes the worst guys on WGR sound like PBS. Here in LA it's closer to unmeasureable. Wait a minute, I thought those were warrior princesses.
  4. I don't get the criticism of the Oline in this game. The Jets have the number one run defense in the entire NFL and had not given up more than 80 yards in a game this season. The O line must have done something right. BTW, the failure to neutralize the blitzes cannot be put on the O line. Blitzing by its very nature means you're sending more men than the O line has. It's on the QB to recognize the blitz and where it's coming from before the snap, and to either change the play call or direct his blockers to be prepared for the rush. His failure to do this was my one big criticism of TT last night. Excellent point. And unlike the first NE game, this time Kromer is in the house for next Monday.
  5. Lowest number of penalties this year.
  6. I agree and was puzzled that TT (or Roman) didn't take advantage of the Jets blitz. Don't know if the fault was with TT or Roman but it was a glaring area that NE, for example, will exploit. Man, I hate all thoase 3-and-out series.
  7. I wouldn't call Starr or Bradshaw great QBs. But I take your point. The other side of the argument would be how many potentially great ones never happened because of mediocre coaching. you're right on both accounts.
  8. Putting aside Cowherd's puke-a-tude for the moment and looking at the point he was making, I started thinking about the generally acknowledged greatest HC's in NFL history and I think he has a point. It starts with the father of modern coaching, Paul Brown, and includes Lombardi, Texas Tom, Chuck Noll, Sid Gillman, Bill Walsh and Bill Belichickito. Not a clown in the bunch. They were/are all kind of dour and, on the PR front, pretty dull.
  9. Eh, Little Jimmy, good to see you's back. I remember this guy -- I bet you know a guy -- from Jersey who used to once said, What you see is who you get it from, ya know what I mean? And that's pretty smart, you know, him being a guy from Jersey and all that. So which do you think?
  10. Over the last five years, the Bills are 1-4 at the Jets. Short week, same old same old D, Shady with a sore wing, Percy Harvin flying over the cuckoo's nest, Revis back in the Meadowlands, IK a center of attention...odds say the Bills lose this one. I, however, think they win it going away, something like 33-13. Now where did I stash that bottle of Red Breast...
  11. They also suck in comparison with most of the other D's in the league. In most critical categories, they are in the bottom 20%. That's not average, that's not mediocre, that's suckitude.
  12. After all the grousing, after Rex saying he hears what the players are saying, after a long beer break for Rex to re-think things, the D looked depressingly identical to what it has all year. Leaves me wondering if this team has a ghost of a chance to win against the good teams.
  13. I suspect they might go D line in the first round. One, and maybe two, of this year's starters will, I think, be replaced to fit Rex's philosophy and to free up cap space.
  14. Man, that's not just a Bills fan, those are The Chefs.
  15. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that EJ is indeed Whaley's pick, one he strenuously lobbied for (apparently that's not the case in reality, but let's pretend it is...playing "pretend" is a big, big deal around here). And let's say that EJ is the worst QB ever drafted in the first round (again, that's not true but, you know, we're playing "pretend"). And let's stipulate that Whaley traded down to pick him and got Kiko into the bargain (Oh, wait, that actually did happen). And then let's pretend he said EJ would need time to learn the position so he was bringing in an old pro as a teacher/starter (oh, hell, that's true too). Then let's pretend that guy got injured and EJ was thrown into the starters role under a lousy OC, a lousy HC, with no QB coach, playing behind a lousy Oline and then he gets hurt (Wow! That actually happend too. Sorry about that). And then let's pretend there are 3 QBs and Whaley foolishly trades the really, really good one (Oops. Sorry. The one he traded is actually worse than EJ). So, in the end, the guy he was mad dog crazy about hasn't panned out as a starter and might never. In the meantime, Whaley has drafted a slew of guys who are doing just fine, traded for others who've had a major positive impact, signed free agents who are making solid contributions, re-signed key players and keeps finding other guys to fill the holes created by injuries. And so, out of all this, you "focus like a laser" on the one pick that's gone sour. No need to ask if you're a glass half full or a glass half empty guy. Clearly, to you, there isn't even a glass.
  16. You were expecting rationality, sanity, logic? Do you not know where you are?
  17. With this edition of the Biils? Let's just hope the loss in NE isn't as humiliating as the one in The Ralph.
  18. What in the performance of the Bills so far makes anyone believe they will win another game this season? Using the Blind Squirrel rule, I suppose they will inexplicably stumble into a win, maybe even two. But weighing the mess Rex has created against the schedule, would anyone really be surprised if they go 0-9?
  19. I check in every day to see who's been fired, re-assigned, traded, hired...anything that might show a sense of urgency around OBD about this season. Instead, cobwebs.
  20. On the play in question, what was worse than staring down the receiver was holding the ball too long. EJ seems to fear "throwing the receiver open." Which is what Brady did against the Bills. But to do that, you and the receiver have to know exactly where the intersection point is and that requires pinpoint accuracy. If EJ had either of those attributes, staring down would hardly matter, which is why I said it was the least of his problems and not that it was no problem.
  21. Doesn't matter how high it was. If you can reach it, it's catchable. And if you have it in yours hands, catch the damned thing.
  22. I'd prefer Cody Kessler.
  23. I am not knocking you personally about this as it is a common comment around here (probably other boards as well); just using your remarks as an example of something that doesn't stand up to broader evidence. By this I mean that every QB "stares down" his receivers from time to time. Go watch some tape of Aaron Rogers or Tom Brady or any top QB and you will see them doing exactly that play after play, especially when they're getting the ball our in less than three seconds. This is really the least of EJ's many problems.
  24. I believe the season we anticipated has been over since the Pats game when our rosy assumptions were revealed as nothing more than smoke and dark mirrors. But we're Bills fans so even though that game showed us that the Bills weren't what we hoped and thought they'd be, we at least had the reasonable expectation that we'd be mediocre as usual and maybe a hair or two better than that as supposedly the O was somewhat improved and the D and ST were elite. Now even that has been exploded with the nauseating Jags loss. We now have nearly a half season's worth of performances from which to make a prediction about the rest of the year and I think only the most deranged Bills fan can come to any other conclusion than this season is burnt toast.
  25. Please, I beg you, don't post while under the influence of psychedelics.
