The trade with KC was made by Whaley and McD. Beane was not even with the team as yet. KC used that pick for Mahomes and now the Bills are supposedly prepared to package that pick, their current pick and probably a few othefs to move up and grab one of the QBs left over after Darnold and Rosen are gone. Very Billsy.
There is a lot of overthinking in football these days. Here is a legend out of the past, Big Daddy Lipscomb, with his "analytics" on defense: "You just keep picking up guys and throwing them away until you find the guy with the ball. Him you keep."
Anyone who paid attention knows Rosen was surrounded by mediocrity and that USC was hard hit with key injuries (11 starters out at one point). There were at least 3 third stringers on the O line in critical games. Even then, SC only lost 2 games. Reason? Darnold.
Sounds like sarcasm. Right? Anyway, for all those who think giving up a boatload of picks to grab an unproven college kid for immediate insertion into the role of Bills Savior, this week's championship games feature Keenum, Bortles, Foles and one time 6th round pick Tom Brady. Might there be a lesson here?
The first 4 aren't going anywhere. In fact, I'm not sure any of those 7 are going anywhere. And if any of them are, please, OBD, do NOT for a single moment think about bringing in Cutler, Bradford or Cousins. Pretty please?
