  1. I love that he would spend his first check on fixing up his car with what sounds like an eye on making it very street. Pure old-school California.
  2. You do remember there was a lockout this past year that destroyed the usual spring/early summer learning for rookies?
  3. Stop making sense, you'll drive away the knuckleheads.
  4. Buddy has been very clear about team needs and the top of the list are pass rushing DEs and OLB. And yes, that's DEs in the plural. He also has been clear that "you can never have enough CBs." He's also on the lookout for an OT. FA signings will clarify who Nix will go for in the draft. BTW, his remarks also have me thinking that Danny Batten might be looking for work elsewhere.
  5. According to Buddy himself at today's press conference, he has no plans whatsoever to retire at present.
  6. I agree. I was actually surprised he was given such short shrift after the season. Oh well.
  7. Another #2 receiver, another TE and another CB are not the most critical needs I see. If the Bills don't grab a true #1 receiver, then I see no need to sign any receivers (seems like they have 30 or 40 of them right now). Same for TE: either get a stud or forget about it. I'll wait and see on the CB but right now I'd favor a top OLB if we can get one in free agency.
  8. Time to really start thinking about replacing the punter and kicker.
  9. The best D coordinator the Bills had in the last 20 years was Wade Phillips...who seemed to flop as a head coach. I think that The Stache is a similar case, and I expect the D will be much better from the get-go next year and, if he sticks around for two or three years after that, it will be one of the best in the league. Here's hoping he's realized that his best position is D coordinator, not HC.
  10. My criticism of Stevie has less too do with his on-field behavior than it does with his performance. The guy seems to have a an uncanny ability to drop a key pass at the most crucial point in the game. Instead of being a born-again Puritan tsk-tsking TD celebrations, Sullivan would better serve WNY fans by focusing on Stevie's failures as a player.
  11. Life is bad for your health.
  12. More significant than who will replace the Pats and Colts is that two of the NFL's marquee attractions of the last decade are deemed to be a drag on ratings. Would anybody have predicted this six months ago?
  13. Trade for Maybin!
  14. Great piece of work. And what a good man Fast Freddy is, eh?
  15. The only kazoo factory in the known universe is in East Aurora so...
  16. It's just being courteous to your readers to make it readable. Other than that, keep up the enthusiasm.
  17. Population-wise, it's CBS' A game for the day.
  18. There is a scenario that guarantees the Bills a playoff spot: win the division. Out of the question? Tough order but not impossible. Right now I think Buffalo's chances of winning the AFCE are as good as anyone's.
  19. Thanks for that. It's a great video. And btw, props to a fairly large number of people on this site who saw his talent from the beginning with the Bills and backed him often and vociferously. We get a lot of things wrong around here but this was one time we got it right.
  20. Back when the Bills brought in both Ryan Denney and Kelsay, and Denney was getting all the focus, my "baby" brother, who was a pretty darned good linebacker in his day, said that Kelsay was the better prospect, with more "football intelligence." He also predicted Kelsay would likely be dissed by some fans because of his total lack of flash because his personality is that of a workaday guy going about his job quietly and effectively. So, bottom line, a solid player not a great one, a reliable guy, not a "high impact" one.
  21. Didn't Khalid Sheik Mohammed, architect of 9/11, get his degree from East Carolina?
  22. One of the genuine greats in all of Bills history.
  23. The Raiders picked on McKelvin all day long and he was pathetic. You know who Brady's going after next week, along with every other team on the schedule. I think McKelvin will be on the bench very, very soon.
