  1. Good thing this is football and not a track meet.
  2. Ladies and gentleman, meet the guy who will be the most popular player on the bills message boards for the next three years.
  3. Its possible, but I am seeing more of an Aaron Schobel or Phil Hansen where they are good but not elite. I always felt bad for Kelsay. He took a lot of heat that should have been reserved for the ownership at the time. Kelsay would have been a perfectly acceptable rotational defensive lineman that was used in run stopping situations. Unfortunately the lack of appeal to free agents at the time and the penny pinching of Ralph Wilson resulted in a lack of talent and as a result the franchise paying and marketing Kelsay as if he was the face of the defense and a top tier defensive end. Of course, the fans didn't buy it and when the defense would get gashed for 30 or 40 points, Kelsay was an easy target and scapegoat. Kelsay would have looked better if he was the third or fourth best defensive end on a team instead of the best or second best one. Nice guy and good team player, just put in a bad position.
  4. My biggest problem with this is the extremely condescending and hostile reaction to any one who dares to question staying inside indefinitely on any level. Take a look at all of the posts on this thread and you will see that nearly all of the ones that are rude or sarcastic and coming from that side of the argument. They assume that anyone who questions some of the restrictions is thinking that it is a hoax or not following guidelines and that is not the case most of the time. That would be like me assuming that everyone on the other side just wants a two year paid vacation on the government's dime(which would also be wrong.). The reality is that this is a scary unprecedented in our time situation and that every has had major changes in their life over the last six weeks. No one know for sure what will happen and there is no answer that is not going to result in many lives being negatively impacted or ended. I have social distanced since march 12th, I wear masks when I go out, there are a lot of people that i care about that I have not seen in weeks. When I make my statements, I am not disregarding that danger of COVID 19 or saying that everyone should be out tomorrow. Even in the best case scenario it will take weeks to get things up and running. Keep in mind though that every day that people are inside, that is resulting in suicides, overdoses and people having serious health issues from procedures that were put off. Adding to that, months or years of this would turn the economy upside down, put us in danger of food shortages and eventually get people in a situation where they are losing their homes. There is going to be a point down the road where we have to look and ask if more people are being hurt by other factors staying inside that what would have happened if we had opened things up. It is not an easy choice, and it is not as black and white as some people seem to think. There are many legitimate scientists and doctors out there who do not agree with the lock down going as long as it has. The original cause of this thread was regarding the drafted players having family and friends over. I agree that it would be foolish to throw a huge party in a house, but I had also pointed out that we do not know what happened behind the scenes. Some states have looser guidelines and 8 or 9 people in a house may not violate that. It is also very possible that these people planned ahead or tested before. Unfortunately, too many either were judgemental ("what kind of flowers to you want for your loved ones funeral?") or took the other extreme and acted like it wasn't a factor at all. The bright side for both of us is that there was the draft over the last two days and that there is more draft today. I am sure that all of us who posted here who are Bills fans and football fans were able to enjoying watching some sport related again. I hope that things are back to the point where they can do the games this year and that we are all able to enjoy a Bills super bowl run.
  5. I have followed the guidelines in my area since early March so I am not disregarding common sense. I am talking long term. Plain and simple, this lockdown is not economically or socially sustainable over a course of months or years and all the fear mongering in the world is not going to change that. You can choose to live in fear if you would like. Have a great night.
  6. I completely agree, and know of a couple people in the healthcare industry that told me their hospitals are often at a fraction of capacity. I was referring to the person with the "citation needed" comment
  7. Yeah, but based on the nature of their posts, I am going to guess that if it is not from CNN or snopes, they probably wont accept it as valid.
  8. This link reminds me of how any COVID 19 discussion ends up being https://babylonbee.com/news/infographic-common-covid-19-talking-points-and-what-they-actually-mean
  9. I did notice that in almost every case, there were less than ten people. Guidelines are different in every state, and many are not on full lockdown, but discouraging events with more than ten. There are cases where they could be having people over and still staying within the guidelines of the states.
  10. Boy you sure showed him! How about trying a civil conversation? I do not mind following the guidelines so much as I mind the sudden deluge of self appointed Barney Fifes that feel like it is their duty to jump all over and personally attack any thought that goes against staying home for months indefinitely without question. Many people are not doing well as a result of staying at home for weeks and there is going to be a point where keeping this up results in more people dying from suicide, overdoses and putting off vital medical procedures than what would have been from covid 19. Edit-I am not minimizing the concern of this, nor pushing for something silly like injecting bleach. Just pointing out that there are many different stories out there and many different opinions that are valid on how to best get things back to normal over the next few months
  11. No team has three true #1 caliber receivers just lying around. Diggs is a #1, Brown and Beasley are good options and 2 and 3. Many non Bills fans think that this is one of the better trios out there. Keep in mind what we had at the position in 2017 and 2018. We do need a running back at some point, but many good running backs have been drafted in the mid rounds. As far as Epenasa, seems safe and not flashy, but McDermott and Beane a good track record on picks so far, so I trust them on this
  12. I do not see Tua ending up like Manziel. If anything I could a see career path like Bradford or Locker where injuries shorten or derail the career.
  13. At this point, I think that Buffalo has enough at each position where they should truly go BPA in each round. Many of the positions with less depth are ones where mid to late round pick can land a good player. Tackle, and running back depth, along with an upgrade in backup quarterback are what I would like to see addressed the most.
  14. I initially balked at the amount of picks, but I think the Diggs at four years a low salary for a #1 receiver is closer to a guarantee than a receiver in the late 1st round. The two extra picks came from trades of players that were being cut anyway and were found money. Diggs, Brown and Beasley are as good of a group as any in the league Buffalo addressed three needs today and there is still plenty of cap room to resign key players and add more pieces
  15. Not a bad low risk signing based on his early career, but I do not see him as likely being an upgrade over Wallace or Johnson. I see this as similar in caliber to the Boldin signing(minus the phony retirement) three years ago. The slight chance of having White paired with Norman playing how he used to is interesting. The more likely scenario is that he gets beaten out in training camp and either cut or moved for a late round pick.
  16. I thought that this impeachment was about Ukraine and not Russia which was disproven. I do not see a purpose in arguing because you seem to be too trusting in the mainstream media which was a part of this attempted coup. If you want Trump out, the wonderful news for you is that you have the chance to do that in November! I will probably vote libertarian again like i have in the last three elections. You see I don't like Trump either, I just find him a bit less dangerous than a party who has done nothing but attempt to overthrow him since january of 2017. I hope that you also exercise your right to vote for who you want. Have a great day
  17. If witnesses were important to the democrats, then they should have let the other side call witnesses too, but they did not want that. How on any planet is that a fair trial? Isn't putting through a trial to change the leader of a country without letting the other side defend a bit closer to the traits of a dictatorship that a president who can be loud and obnoxious? During this whole time they tried to make this as one sided as possible and give the other side as little chance to defend themselves as possible. When it got to the senate and a defense was finally allowed to present their case, it was not seen as strong enough to continue. Trump is by no means perfect, but if that was impeachable, then every single president in the last 50 years could have been impeached for something.
  18. Maybin hands down. It was already bad enough that a few better players had fallen to us when he was picked instead. On top of being worse than many 7th rounder and UDFA's on a given year he felt the need to hold out longer than anyone the year that he was drafted. Next to Jamarcus Russell, probably was a big reason why rookie contracts were changed up a few years back. As a player, Did not try, his career never even came close to the level of a replacement level rotation player, let alone that star that people expect from a top 10 pick. After his stint with the Bills, goes on the Jets and is used by Rex Ryan as a way to taunt the bills by getting a few garbage time sacks. After his career, trashes football in general and has nothing but negative to say about the Bills. Just about every other Bill on this thread either was not on the team long term or at some point has a redeeming quality or legitimate reason for disappointing play. Not Maybin, bad on all levels.
  19. I don't even think Rosen would be "right josh" when compared to Josh Johnson, let alone Josh Allen. The other quarterbacks in that class still have a good chance at a long career, but Rosen seems to be a close to done as a qb going into their third year can be.
  20. I am the same way. I have been pretty apathetic when it comes to watching the playoffs besides the Super bowl over the last few years, but nothing like after the game yesterday. I'll go to a Super Bowl party and watch the game with friends for the social aspect, but I am pretty much done with football until August. At least I have Syracuse basketball to look forward to.......Oh....wait......
  21. Hard to care now that Buffalo is gone. All of the teams left are been there done that to me, so there are no compelling stories. If I had to pick, since the Titans made the day a little better by beating the Patriots, I hope that they make a run.
  22. This team is more complete than any Bills team has been in a long time. There are a few missing pieces between good and great. For me the needs would be. 1) Tackle-Dawkins is decent, but Ford is a turnstile. 2) Wide Receiver- Williams and McKenzie improved and are good depth, but adding a true number one to complement Brown and Beasley would open up the offense. 3) Linebacker- With Alexander gone, you have Edmonds, Milano and no one else who is proven. 4) Running back- Singletary looks like the real deal, but a good team has multiple options at running backs. Gore is not getting any younger and Yeldon is not an answer 5) Backup Quarterback. I know that there are many Barkley fans, but this position could use an upgrade. I personally think that last year's Jets game was an outlier and that what we saw from Barkley in the Patriots and Jets games this year is what we would see more of if Allen went down for a few games.
  23. 1) A true #1 receiver. Look, I get it. Brown's had an amazing year, but he clearly lacks the size necessary to compete for contested passes. Completely agree. Brown and Beasley as a one and two are adequate and much improved from what they had last year, but not ideal. As a two and three with a true #1 receiver, that would be a great group. I would imagine that this is a top priority 2) A RT that's actually capable of blocking people. Cody Ford is pretty clearly not the answer here, as was evidenced on the last series of the last drive. Ford is a disappointment, but i am not ready to call him a bust yet. If I recall correctly, Ford is better suited at guard. He looked pretty good in preseason when playing there. Feliciano is having a good year but traditionally is replacement level. I would like to see Buffalo add a true starting tackle and Have Ford compete for a guard spot next year. 3) A DE capable of creating consistent pass rush. Shaq, while having the best season of his career is clearly a second-tier kind of guy, a Ryan Denney/Aaron Schoebel type. Any team could always use an elite pass rusher, but this is not as much of a need as the other two. I doubt that Buffalo retains both Lawson and Phillips, so adding depth here with a veteran free agent or mid round picks seems to be the likely path. 4) A RB to pair with Motor. Need more size and youth at this position.- One nice thing about running back is that it is routine to get good ones in mid or later rounds of the draft. I could definitely see Buffalo adding a couple of running backs to the mix this year. I would also add linebacker depth. Alexander isn't getting any younger and Milano can be pushed around sometimes. The backups seem to be nothing more than depth and not real long term options as starters. I could see this position suddenly becoming a weakness if not addressed in the next year or two. Overall, this team is just a little bit away from being great. The needs are not as much as they have been in many others seasons.
  24. I always hate losing to the Patriots and this loss sucks just as much as the others. My biggest comfort is knowing that even though yesterday was more of the same, that the Patriots era is on its way out and Buffalo is on its way up. This is still a playoff team and the last two losses were close ones against arguably two of the best teams in the NFL. This is still a team that is good enough to make a run in the playoffs and the optimistic side of me hopes that they learn from the Ravens and Patriots losses in the same way that they learned from their losses earlier in the year. With a little more consistency on the offense, this team can beat anyone.
  25. I do not care for Trump, but I hate the misuse of the impeachment process even more. This is the democrats way of saying that they do not think that they have anyone who can beat Trump in 2020. Everyone knew that this would happen and also known that the senate will not allow the next step to happen. All of this time could have been spent by both parties doing something like, maybe improving the many issues in this country? We will see what happens over the next year now.
