I agree with this. If Watkins had been a late first round or a second round pick, he would have been viewed as a pretty good injury prone receiver who moved on but played well here when he wasn't hurt. The fact that he cost two first round picks in a class that had so many good receivers including three potential hall of famers in Adams, Evans and Beckham will always give him a not fully warranted label as an underachiever.

The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
dgrochester55 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now it becomes an interesting question again when asking who the best QB in the 2018 draft class is. Last year it was Jackson without question, now in my opinion, Allen has the stronger case. Still plenty of career left for both, but it is interesting how quickly things can change. -
Williams would be my choice if it was an injury half way thorough the season, but being a playoff game I would go with Yeldon. Less exciting and less upside, but a proven veteran who can pass block and make catches out of the backfield.

The colts fumble that was not called
dgrochester55 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Many people always said during the years of bad ref calls against Buffalo that the good teams can overcome bad officiating. We finally have a team that is good enough to do that. I am much happier about the win than I am mad at the call, but this does need to be looked at further by the league. A playoff team is tough enough to beat on their own. -
Playoff Game Postgame Thread

Same here. This had a chance to become part of the hard luck narrative for the bills right alongside wide right and the homerun throwback, but fortunately the defense stepped up. It should have never been allowed to stand and those refs need to be pulled from doing more playoff games. -

A little of both. Indy was better than many of us gave them credit for, but this was nowhere near the best that Buffalo can do. -

Hopefully that was Buffalo getting their bad week out of the way and returning back to form for the rest of the playoffs. -
Indy reminds me of our team last year where they can pretty much get the job done against the middle and lower tier teams but fall short against the better ones. Their defense is one of the better ones in the NFL, but Buffalo has shredded four good defenses over the last four games. Their offense is a middle of the road one so our defense is more than capable of containing them. Anything is possible in the playoffs, but the only way that I see Buffalo losing this is if they play uncharacteristically bad on both sides of the ball.

Wait Kelvin Benjamin Was Part of '14 draft class?!
dgrochester55 replied to HardyBoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember watching that game and hearing him say that live. Considering his appearance on that picture and that fact that he was 6'5, I think that 245 pounds was quite a generous estimation of his weight at that moment. -
Bills 34, Niners 24 Game Balls!

Pretty much everyone besides Wallace and Moss but if I had to narrow it down, I would give it to Allen for having a mistake free game and arguably his best game as a pro. -
Fair enough, but sometimes a high draft pick that does not work out initially needs a change of scenery. Jerry Hughes is an example that comes to mind, he was a 1st round pick who was considered a bust for the Colts before being traded to Buffalo. This is only Baker's second year. Besides the character issue, he is not a bad risk for a low price and no worse of an option that Norman or Worley at this point.

I think White has been good overall this year, it just doesn't show as much the players around him have not been performing. The defense is not the same overall but I am not panicking about them yet. There was no preseason for the new players to get used to the team and I think that this effected their overall bad play(although Klein is coming around). They are also playing some of the top offenses in the NFL this year. Hopefully Buffalo can get healthy and make adjustments in the bye week.

The schedules Buffalo-Chargers, 49ers, Steelers, Broncos, Patriots, Dolphins Miami-Broncos, Bengals, Jets, Chiefs, Patriots, Raiders, Bills. I do not see that much of a difference. True, the Dolphins have a Jets game left, but they still have 7 games while we have 6. Both have one very tough game left in the Steelers for us and Chiefs for them. I do not think that the Bengals or Raiders will be push overs for them. The Dolphins have made it interesting, but this is far from a foregone conclusion. It is still our division to lose.

No other WR in the league today besides Hopkins would have caught that. The loss sucks but if you told me after the second Jets game that Buffalo would have taken two of the three against New England, Arizona and Seattle, I would have been happy. Miami is beginning to worry me, but Buffalo still plays them and currently has the tiebreaker. This is still Buffalo's division to lose.

Week 10 Around the League
dgrochester55 replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would personally rather see Brady fail because of his overall personality and for him also bringing Gronk and Antonio Brown there. I think the best compromise for this would be to have both of them do terrible for the rest of the year.
