  1. Dumb move, just plain dumb. Yes, Taylor looked bad but the offensive line and defense are atrocious over the last two weeks. This might make sense if we were 2-7 but this is a 5-4 team and they are starting a 5th round rookie who barely has 50% completions when playing in preseason and garbage time. Taylor needs to get better, but the line has been disgraceful over the last two games, at least Taylor can run, Peterman stands no chance behind that turnstile factory. Despite the rough last two weeks, Buffalo could potentially beat fellow wild card contender San Diego, be 6-4 and right back in the thick of the hunt with four division games left. That is not a time to mail it in. This is going to backfire big time.
  2. Kaepernick's best chances are in Denver or Green Bay. Both of those team are in the playoffs this year if the QB play is even average. Right now, the current QB level for both teams is nowhere near that. One could argue that a QB with superbowl experience and some success in the past can't be worse than what Hundley and Siemian are doing now. This would assume that he has stayed focused enough to stay in football shape and quickly learn a system this year.
  3. Typical argument from that camp, take a differing opinion from yours and immediately jump to the most extreme conclusion.
  4. It's like when I was 11 when I got a Nintendo for Christmas. my parents told my brother and I not to expect much for Christmas because money was bad, after a couple small presents and "time to go upstairs and get ready for church", we went back downstairs to see the Nintendo system
  5. Sad thing is, there would have been ten posters and two threads saying this on the old Buffalo Bills Message Board.
  6. The only thing I wanted to see was a backup running back. Receiver and Tight end were the big talk, but Thompson and O'Leary have filled in pretty well. If McCoy get hurt, this team is suddenly in trouble. Mike Tolbert is not geared for 20+ carries a game.
  7. This is fine, we are off the hook on a monster dead space contract. Dareus has all of the talent in the world but does not care. By 2019, Darues will be right where Mario Williams is now. I see this as free 6th round pick.
  8. This isn't a mistake here and there, he is dropping passes at an NFL record high rate in the last 25 years. The team is not in a full blown rebuild, they are 4-2. If they were 0-6, I would say, keep him out there and see what he can do. Because they are 4-2, Matthews/Thompson or even Matthews/Tate gives them a better immediate chance. This doesn't mean I say cut him or let him sit on the end of the bench. Give him chances when the other starters need a break or if is a 3, 4, 5 wr formation. As he gains confidence, give him more chances.
  9. If it is mainly on Taylor, than why have Nick O'Leary, Deonte Thompson and Brandon Tate had flashes of recent production while Zay has only been consistent in not producing? Jones is not ready, period. Doesn't mean that he is a bust, just that he maybe has no business starting yet. Give him time, Eric Moulds was seen as a bust until year three.
  10. Two weeks ago according to some, it was 1) Peterman 2) Brady 3) Rodgers 4) Brees 5) Everyone Else 6) Tyrod
  11. Same here. I almost turned the TV off after the Evans TD. The more often that Buffalo can win like that, the better our chances o breaking the playoff curse before the decade ends. Tampa bay lost the game in the same fashion that Buffalo lost games over the last two years with Rex coaching. It is nice to finally be on the other side of that.
  12. Time travel anyone? Look for that rip in the fabric of the universe when Whaley travels back to 1983 and uses the 1984 fourth round pick and 1985 first round pick to trade up for Todd Blackledge.at 7 instead of drafting Kelly at 16.
  13. It's easy to be frustrated with the receiving group as it is. Sentimentally speaking, when someone sees a familiar name like Johnson as a free agent and think, "why not? How could it be worse? I am not advocating the thread, just stating that I see the thought behind it. Logically speaking, Buffalo is better off resigning Streater or promoting Reilly.for the best chance at immediate improvement. This is a year where many teams have receiver depth issues. If Johnson still had it, he would be on a roster somewhere. I think that a Johnson signing would be similar to the Harvin signing last year if it happened.
  14. I don't think it is going to be that bad, but it is safe to say that he has underachieved. He is nowhere near Evans, Beckham or Cooks in production and probably never will be. I believe he will be starter caliber for years. He will have average to slightly above average numbers with pedestrian stats on many games but the one or two big games a season that make people say, "wow he could still be great". This would be ok if he was a 3rd round pick, but not if he was a top 5 pick who thinks that he deserves Top receiver pay.
  15. During the game I was flicking between the bills and Red Zone. As I saw the game between the Chargers and Giants, two teams going nowhere fast I am thinking in my head, Keenan Allen and Brandon Marshall would be two perfect options to trade for. Marshall is no longer the case for obvious reasons, but if Buffalo could trade for Allen, while promoting Reilly and giving him a shot, that would certainly be an upgrade over what we saw on Sunday. Buffalo's defense has them in a position where playoff contention is a possibility.. Unfortunately Buffalo short changed themselves at Wide receiver. Matthews is hurt, The veterans signed aren't working out and Jones is nowhere near ready to contribute. If they think there is any shot at a playoff run, trading for a receiver or two is not unreasonable. .
  16. It is obvious. There are some people who thrive on negativity and will spread that message wherever they can. Let's admit, a 16 year playoff drought makes for an easy target, so this is why that culture is prominent on Bills boards. When Buffalo beat two good teams in a row they backed off and probably posted negative crap on other forums that had to do with different subjects whether it was hobbies, politics etc. Now that the Bills didnt come through they are gladly back.
  17. How could he be worse? He could take 12 sacks a game like Rob Johnson. he could have three 50-100 yard games for every 300 yard game Like Losman, He could get 25 completions a game for 150 yards like Edwards. He could even forget the whole playbook like Hobert. If you are an NFL fan for any team, chances are after a loss In most cases, the quarterback that annoyed you yesterday is not the worst EVER. The next guy in line is not the guaranteed savior. This is something that many Bills fans seem to miss. Taylor's game was not good enough yesterday, but overall the team is 3-2 with a run first offense that banks on minimal mistakes. Taylor isn't good, he isn't bad, he is status quo. Yesterday was his worst game, Denver was his best, he is average he is starter quality but no more than a game manager with some legs.. That is not ideal, but for all we know Peterman may be a deer in headlights or get 5 turnovers if he started. Maybe not, but going with an unknown every 6 games is not a recipe for success. I think more of us can agree than taking a shot at a franchise QB in a good draft class next year is a good risk,
  18. Poor front office planning on planning for wide receivers and injuries. I know it's "Taylor, it's Taylor!!!!!!" "He's the worst quarterback EVER!!" If Taylor had a game where he went 30 for 31 with 350 yards and 3 touchdowns, there are a handful here who would create threads afterwards complaining about his one incomplete pass. When Taylor is eventually replaced by Peterman or a Rookie next year, most of these same people will be back doing the same thing to that quarterback as soon as the Bills lose a couple times with them starting. By the way, I am not saying that Taylor is anything more than average. I don't get how the fact that Buffalo was down two lineman and had no reliable receivers or tight ends can be lost on some people.
  19. I can't blame Tyrod for today. He held on to the ball longer than normal, so that is on him, but what could he have done today?. Keep in mind that we were down two lineman with Vlad the QB impaler starting. We had no receivers after Charles Clay was hurt. When O'Leary and Tate are your most reliable options, it is hard to succeed. Zay Jones is not ready this year, he may end up being ok, but he is useless so far, , he drops more than he catches. Holmes is not contibuting, not that I expected him to be a star, but he is the veteran of the group. , Kaelin clay is invisible. Logan Thomas is a tall athletic guy who might be fun to have on a flag football team but doesn't know how to play any position at an NFL caliber level. Don't get me wrong, Tyrod is no more than an average starter, I still think Buffalo should try for a franchise QB next year. If someone wants to argue benching him or that he is terrible, this is not the game to base it off of.
  20. I was thinking 6-7 wins, now I would say 8, maybe 9. I am still worried about the consistency of the offense. I also want to see what the defense can do against some of the higher caliber offenses that they play later in the year Buffalo is now 2-1 Before the season started, the six game stretch from week 2 to 7 looked impossible. Carolina was a loss I saw that as a toss up in favor of Carolina, Denver was a win today, but i would have seen that as a sure loss. Atlanta would be a tough game to win. Tampa Bay, Cincy and Oakland suddenly do not look as tough as before. I see 4-3 or 3-4 going into the rematch against the Jets From there Winnable-2 miami games, Indy, Jets Toss up, New Orleans San Diego Losses-New England games, @ KC Lets be optimistic but still realistic and say that Buffalo wins three of the four winnable games and spilts with New Orleans and San Diego. This gives us 7-8 wins unless an upset happens against the Chiefs or Patriots. Long story short, to get to the playoffs, Buffalo needs to win all of the games that they should and pull off a couple more upsets.
  21. I'm generally against this whole NFL protest trend, but Trump brought this on himself. He could not have handled that any worse. Keep in mind that I am a conservative.
  22. You need to have the Olympic level speed like Goodwin to pull that off. Goodwin was borderline Olympic caliber and got 62 td's, Makes me wonder if an elite sprinter like Usain Bolt could break the 100 td mark on 2 catches.
  23. When I think of Jenkins, I will remember his storied Bills career to be as legendary as past others including Ed Eagan, Darwin Walker and Matt Leinart.
  24. In other news, the Jags Sunday morning game in London has been moved to Saturday at 4 pm in Yankee stadium.
