Week 12: Bills at Lions on Thanksgiving
ytownblofan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Out of these, I would assume Kaiir is the most likely. It seemed like he was on track for yesterday's game, so barring any setbacks, I would assume he plays Thursday. Edmunds and Greg feel like a stretch, but fingers crossed! -
Dunkirk Don. My friend works in game day ops for the Lions. He texted me around 2pm letting me know they were going to be having a meeting discussing the game getting moved, which is when I first posted on here.

Just got the text saying "1000% happening, expect a press release later this evening"

Deadline to announce move to Detroit ??????????????
ytownblofan replied to Gisele's topic in The Stadium Wall
LOL you are definitely right. I could end up being totally wrong. Just passing along what I was told. Obviously until the league says its happening, I am as good as anyone saying they saw "XYZ at Duffs" -
No idea, just passing along what he told me. Likely cuz people are not scheduled to work being that they were away this weekend

Right, and I agree with you, if they continue this trend, then we are in trouble. But if we look at the entire season, the first 6 games, they were solid against the run. In the last 3, they have not been great, but its been one specific drive that really killed them in each of the last two games. Given the injuries over the past few weeks, I tend to think the first 6 games are more reflective of the run defense. I could be totally wrong, and this could be the start of an awful run defense for the rest of the year, but breaking it down, points towards the thought that maybe it hasn't been as bad as we think. I will gladly give up one or two drives where Chubb has big plays/rushes if we shut them down on all other drives.

Has the run killed us at times over the last 3 games? Yes, most definitely. But once you break it down, its more that they have serious issues stopping the run one one drive rather than their run defense being putrid. There is a reason the Bills are still the 6th ranked run defense per DVOA. vs the Jets, the Bills gave up 174 on the ground. Putrid. However, lets break it down: Zac Wilson had 5 rushes for 48 Carter had 12 for 76 Robinson had 13 for 48 A mix of WR had 4 for 26 The Jets rushed 8 times for 73 on that last drive. Meaning prior to that drive the Jets were rushing at a clip of 26 for 101, an average of 3.8. Now obviously that last drive was a dagger, and killed us, but up to that drive they defended the run reasonably well. vs the Vikings, the Bills gave up 147 on the ground. Dalvin - 14 for 119 Cousins - 6 for 12 Mattison - 3 for 11 Ham - 1 for 3 Osborn - 1 for 2 Outside of the 1 drive that consisted of 1 rush for 81 yards, the Bills held them to 66 yards rushing on 24 attempts, an average of 2.75. Like the Jets game, this one drive definitely hurt, and is part of the entire picture, however, outside of that drive, I think any of us would take that run defense. The Green Bay game definitely was the worst in regards to our rush defense. However, hearing from Von and others on the defense, it sounded like the Bills were allowing the run to happen and continued to defend the pass, letting the Packers run the clock out on their own. Have the Bills been great against the run? Obviously no, they have not. Do they have serious issues? No, I don't think so. They need to clean up some mistakes, but I don't believe its a dire situation. Could the Browns kill us on the ground? Undoubtedly. Chubb is a beast. That being said, given the weather, I believe the Bills will sell out to stop the run and dare Jacoby to beat us. Much like they did against the Titans when they held them to 27 for 80 yards.

guessing he was likely the next man up at either safety position if either guy goes down. Probably wanted to keep him ready to go if that happened

How confident are you going into tonight's game?
ytownblofan replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Conversely, the Rams have an O-line that's never played together as a unit, a new offensive coordinator (yes, I know McVay runs the O), a star CB coming off of shoulder surgery and has yet to test it against contact, a QB with potential elbow issues, and their starters haven't played at all during preseason. I think its going to be a shootout -
Came here to say the same thing

Welcome to Cleveland! There is a pretty active backers bar on the west side. I've run into quite a few Bills fans when I have been out and about as well. Not sure where you will be located, but Beachwood schools use the Bills logo, but their colors are brown and yellow, so that takes some getting used to.

Bills -Broncos Post Game Thread Week 2 Preseason
ytownblofan replied to muppy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Won’t happen, but at a certain point does a discussion need to be had about Blacksheer vs Taiwan Jones? I know Jones is an ace on special teams, but getting less confident that Blacksheer will make it to waivers. -
NFLN Schedule Preseason Week 2

I mean, some would say the 2nd team Panthers defense is one of the top units ever 😂 -
I don't love it, but lets not act like the Bills are going to be the only team to play starters.... A lot of teams played their guys week 1 of the preseason
-
So lets say a settlement or decision is not announced by this weekend and DW plays again. What happens if he blows out an ACL? "Oh darn, guess you can go ahead and suspend me for 17 games, I am out 9-10 months anyway"? Is the only recourse at that point the fine and the fact he wouldn't get paid for that amount of game?

I truly hope that Wilson is ok.... But a Jets vs Browns bidding war for Jimmy G could be fun to watch -

My guess is they want to see how the first preseason game goes. Our passing offense is supposed to be elite, so it would be expected that they would struggle. Let’s see how they play against another team and go from there.
