I am confused about where the notion that Beane is riding his pick of JA17 and that otherwise he is not a good drafter started. I compiled all of his draft picks between 2018 and 2021 and I see very few flat out misses. 2018 Josh Allen Tremaine Edmunds – 74 career games played (74 started). 2 Pro Bowls. Signed a massive deal with the Bears in FA Harrison Phillips – 62 career games played, 45 in Buffalo (28 started). Signed with Vikings in FA Taron Johnson – 71 career games played (50 started). Considered one of the top nickel CB in the game Siran Neal – 80 career games played (1 started). Special teams ace Wyatt Teller – 66 career games played, 8 in Buffalo (59 started). 2 Pro Bowls Ray-Ray McCloud – 65 career games played, 10 in Buffalo (10 started) – 2020 2nd team all pro KR Austin Proehl – Cut and never played a down in the league 2019 Ed Oliver – 62 career games played (53 started). 2019 All Rookie Team. Signed an Extension with the Bills Cody Ford – 49 career games played, 38 in Buffalo (32 started). Traded to Cardinals, currently with the Bengals. Devin Singletary – 61 career games played (56 started). Signed with Texans in FA Dawson Knox – 57 career games played (47 started). 1 Pro Bowl. Signed an extension with the Bills Vosean Joseph – Never played a snap in the league Jaquan Johnson – 60 career games played (4 started). Primarily ST. Signed with the Raiders in FA Darryl Johnson – 38 career games played, 31 in Buffalo (1 started). Traded to panthers, currently with the 49ers Tommy Sweeney – 24 career games played (4 started). Signed with Giants in FA 2020 AJ Epenesa – 43 career games played (3 started) Zack Moss – 39 career games played, 31 in Buffalo (3 started). Traded to the Colts Gabe Davis – 47 career games played (30 started) Jake Fromm – 3 career games (2 started) Never played a snap for the Bills, currently with the Commanders Tyler Bass – 49 career games played. Signed an extension with the Bills Isaiah Hodgins – 11 career games, 1 with Buffalo (5 started). Released by Bills and signed by the Giants Dane Jackson – 37 career games played (22 started). Signed a 1 year deal with the Bills 2021 Greg Rousseau – 30 career games played (30 started) Boogie Basham – 23 career games played (0 started) Spencer Brown – 27 career games played (24 started) Tommy Doyle – 12 career games played (0 Started) Marquez Stevenson – 5 career games played (0 started). Currently with the Panthers Damar Hamlin – 29 career games played (13 started) Rachad Wildgoose – 20 career games played (3 started) Never played with the Bills Jack Anderson – 14 career games played (3 started) Never played with the Bills Is he drafting superstars with every pick? Of course not. Does he draft guys that have sustainable careers in the NFL? Yes, with darn near every pick. Out of 31 picks between 2019 and 2021, only 2 are not currently in the league and 14 no longer play for the Bills, but are still in the league. Do I wish he would have hit on a few more big-time players? Of course, I do. But he has consistently added quality depth through the draft. The notion that he cannot draft or has a terrible draft record outside of JA17 is just flat-out wrong.

no offense taken, I agree it doesn’t tell the whole story on Gabe. However, I also think it shows he hasn’t been this sub par wide receiver that some posters want to make him out to be. I think Gabe has been a victim of the routes he has been asked to run and has been a victim of the epic Divisional game. People expected him to put up 2 TDs and 100+ every game. Comparing his stats to other WR2 around the league, he is comparable or better than most. I also think we need to define what “WR2” is. Most of what people want is another WR1.
-
We have a WR2, whether you want to admit it or not, we do. As you said, the stats speak for themselves. Per Cover 1 Now, obviously, this does not include his drop rate, which we can both agree is too high. But let's not sit here and say we do not have a WR2. Gabe is young, has loads of potential, and has put together a solid body of work. Could we improve the position? Certainly. Could we do a helluva lot worse, absolutely! Kincaid is only going to make this team, this offense, and I believe, Gabe Davis better.

For the sake of argument, let's say this is true. How many "good corners" do most teams carry? 1 maybe 2. Cool, let's say 2 just for the argument, one on Diggs with likely bracket coverage, and the other "good corner" on Kincaid. Does that leave a team's 3rd best corner alone on an island against Davis? I present you, Gabe Davis, against an average corner, with no safety help:

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

PacMan, who likely is talking directly with DHop, is saying something could go down as early as tonight. -
Taylor Rapp Signing with Bills
ytownblofan replied to hellofellowbillsfans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just imagining Mac Jones walking up to the center and starting to read the defense. Looking across the line, he sees Von Miller in a track stance, gulps, then scans the rest of the defense and sees Milano, Rapp, Po, and Micah all casually walking toward the line and he has no idea who is coming. Puts a big smile on my face thinking how quickly he is going to throw the ball directly into the ground or pick the wrong blitzer and be shocked when *insert Bill here* gets a free release on him -

Exactly oh shoot, you’re right. Beane does need to run everything he does through Tasker. If he hasn’t asked Taskers thoughts then it surely isn’t happening. Shut down the thread boys, nothing else to see here. -

So we can assume that DHop wants to come here? But because nothing has happened yet, we automatically assume that Beane has walked away? What if the asking price is too high? What if he overpaid, would he be “lousy” then? When it comes down to it, none of us know DHop and none of us are on the calls between Beane and AZ. So we quite literally have no clue what is going on outside of random Twitter accounts and a few experts saying we are the leader of the pack. -
I agree they haven’t been playing their best. But the Bills went 7-1 with 1 cancellation in the second half. They scored 235 points or an average of 29 points over those 8 games. They allowed 168 or an average of 21. Whether or not they are in or out of sync or if they are playing good can be debated. At the end of the day, they have been putting up points and winning games and in January, that’s all that matters.

Week 18: Pats at Bills, Sunday 1/8 1pm
ytownblofan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it will be Marlowe. From what I have read, Cam has been active over Marlowe because he plays Special Teams and can play corner in a pinch, whereas Marlowe does not offer the same flexibility. I think this staff will go with the veteran in Marlowe, knowing he will likely make the safer decisions. But definitely expect both Marlowe and Cam to be active -

Week 16: Bills at Bears on Christmas Eve

On the contrary, I am happy to hear other possible explanations, which is why I asked for more information from you. However, it is interesting that you can make the claim over and over, but when pushed for an example or reasoning behind your claims, you shut down and deflect. -

I've seen you say this multiple times, and I'm curious, what knowledge or evidence do you have of them "lobbying so hard" to move the game? -
Devin Singletary not scoring a TD with 34 seconds left
ytownblofan replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Also, for those saying to take the points and score the TD... the PAT would have been a longer attempt and in those conditions, it would have been much less of a sure thing. With the FG attempt they were closer, and plays had been run in that area that had helped clear some of the snow. -
What was the furthest you traveled to see the Bills play?

I was at the "Welcome to the NFL" Josh hurdle game in Minnesota. Quick 2 hour plane trip from Cleveland -
Does this suck? Absolutely! But get out of here with the "What a waste" or "terrible contract" takes. We were all completely fine with the contract and extremely happy with Von and his production. Injuries happen. Contracts are a calculated risk. It sucks we got burnt by an injury on turf that the NFLPA is demanding gets replaced. But we are still a 9-3 team, with a great shot at making some noise in the post-season. We still have the best QB in the game steering our squad for years to come. It will be ok.

Week 12: Bills at Lions on Thanksgiving

Rhodes was not signed to the active roster. The Bills have used two of his PS elevations. After the game, the PS player reverts back to the PS. I believe they changed the rules so that this can occur 3 times, then the player must either be signed to the active roster or remain on PS for the rest of the year.
