  1. Von taking a pay cut and loading his contract with incentives instead of guaranteed money is an incredible development. He was already guaranteed the money and didn't have to take a pay cut. The fact that he did and loaded his contract with incentives instead tells me that he plans on being really good again.
  2. I don't think McGovern was very good at guard. I hope they are not already determined to make him the starting center, he may not be good enough. Obviously there is a lot of time, draft, free agency, etc. until next season, hoping they have a plan where McGovern is a backup.
  3. I forgot he was even on the staff. His cousin Dave Shula (not his coach brother Dave) was a good friend and housemate for a couple years in Park City UT in the mid 80s. Great guy I've lost track of over the years....
  4. The only liqueur with a color named after it. Made by Carthusian monks in Chartreuse mtns. France. Originally created as a longevity tonic it is an extract formula of 130 alpine herbs, first made in the 17th century (1605). The formula has remained a well guarded secret for centuries. I used to keep a bottle around for a night cap.
  5. On PFF, Morse was rated 20th out of 36 qualified centers last season and has been slipping every season. He is near the end of his career and needs to be replaced soon. I know that many think PFF is garbage and I take their ratings with some skepticism myself; but on the other hand all 32 NFL teams (including the Bills) pay for their professional services.
  6. Sure, it's complex with a lot of moving parts, but no one is expected to get everything right. There are 31 other guys with the same complex job and you're trying to be better than them. Spending too much draft and cap capital on the dline with limited success; and taking too long to get a decent offensive line, while needing another top wr, have been his biggest shortcomings imo. Whether that's on him, McD or both?
  7. Grateful Dead Tour 💃 ⛷️Being a ski bum and living outside in Telluride and Park City before all the $$$$$ took over the towns. Hitchhiking
  8. 3 pts regulation win 2 pts OT or shootout (SO) win 1 pt to OT or SO loser It makes sense on so many levels. Each game having the same total points awarded being chief among them. Beyond that it fixes the incentive teams have in the late 3rd of a tie game. Would fans rather watch teams battle for a 3 point win or try to hang on for a guaranteed point? Teams should be incentivized to play for the 3 pt. win in regulation. Not to play for the guaranteed pt. of a tie. This is a huge mistake by the NHL that should be fixed after this season. If they don't like the 3 point win they should do away with the 1 pt. ties altogether. Using the shootout there are no more ties anyway.
  9. I'm not hell bent on them taking a particular guy or position in the first, but trading up for another crack at drafting a good de is just a terrible idea imo. How much draft and cap capital has he spent the last 4 seasons on this one position with what results? From the very start I said to build a great offensive line and give Allen elite weapons. Outscoring everyone should be the goal, not trying to stop a particular individual or team. Also, no matter how good the defense is they aren't used properly in critical moments anyway. It doesn't matter how many great players you have when you line up 8 yards back on 3rd and 3.
  10. Wouldn't surprise me if he starts and plays well in Chicago, I thought he was pretty good when given the chance for the Bills.
  11. The next night in Buffalo 5/9/77 was my first Dead show, and still one of my favorites (out of hundreds). I was not quite 16... They were on fire 🫠 https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://archive.org/details/gd77-05-09.sbd.connor.8304.sbeok.shnf&ved=2ahUKEwiYqarbkdqEAxWgFTQIHfjcBngQFnoECBYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2Llq5l4bZHoddEo-I4hnoj
  12. I was just telling the wife this is like deja vu all over again.... I'm enjoying the games and hoping to see a memorable end of the season run. Keep fighting, keep winning, got to break through one these years Goallll on cue😄
  13. Goalllllll Beautiful move and shot by Girgensons
  14. I have seen a few of his games. Once again, I am not advocating for or against, I am merely pointing out that for a guy who, as you say, is a threat to score on every play......he only scored 5 tds on 75 catches last season. Stats never tell the whole story, but watching more of his tape won't change those numbers... They are in the books, people can make of it whatever they like.
  15. His speed makes him a threat on every play... but the reality is he scored only 5tds on 75 rec this past season. Franklin for example scored 14 times on 81 catches. Straight line speed doesn't necessarily convey or take the place of great route running, deceptive breaks, elusive moves in space, etc.
  16. I'm not advocating for or against, but I would think that running a 4.34 40 at 205lbs would qualify as an elite trait...
  17. Another tough game today, let's go Sabres! Win em all...one at a time The Sabres have the leagues 2nd hardest remaining schedule.
  18. Wtf Disgusted Refs giving the game to Florida with that additional bench penalty on Granato 5 on 3 What a bull#### call to make
  19. Ya The Panthers aggressive D makes it harder to get set up. I think the Sabres need to put more pucks and players to the net and not try to pass it around for the perfect shot. UPL has been great. Here we go....Let's Go Sabres! PP coming up...
  20. They may have only a slim chance at the playoffs but I'm enjoying watching them play the last few weeks. It's been a while since I've watched many games but it reminds me how much I miss it. I'll watch until they're in or eliminated. They really need a breakthrough. If they can win on the road against a really good team tonight and keep this streak going.....who knows
  21. Cmon Sabres Need to shoot more on the PP.... Not gonna pass it into the net Nice save by Luk at the horn 3rd coming up down 1
  22. I'll give you $490 for the unused ticket 🤣
  23. Doesn't seem like that would be a real possibility....but we can dream. Diggs Shakir Franklin, Thomas, and Kincaid would definitely give DCs nightmares Adding just one of them to that group would be scary enough as it is.. Let's hope they can do that at least
  24. Thomas is a great talent as well. I have heard from many that he probably won't make it to 28. I don't know enough to have an opinion on that. I guess we'll found out in a couple months. I prefer Franklin because I think he is a more complete receiver at this point (and I'm a Ducks fan), route running, deceptive breaks, etc. But I like Thomas size, speed and elusiveness as well. I'd be happy if they land either one of those 2.
  25. One thing I like about Franklin that I'd like to add; Bo Nix is a very mobile qb who likes to evade the rush and extend plays like Allen does. Franklin was great at getting open and being available for him in those situations. I met my wife at the Univ of Oregon where she ran track and we are followers of all Ducks sports. We still live near Eugene 28 years later. I have probably seen almost every one of his games on TV or in person. He is a threat to score from anywhere on the field and especially on extended plays. He is also a nuanced receiver who runs great routes with deceptive breaks and short area quickness. He's not just fast.
