Von taking a pay cut and loading his contract with incentives instead of guaranteed money is an incredible development. He was already guaranteed the money and didn't have to take a pay cut. The fact that he did and loaded his contract with incentives instead tells me that he plans on being really good again.

I don't think McGovern was very good at guard. I hope they are not already determined to make him the starting center, he may not be good enough. Obviously there is a lot of time, draft, free agency, etc. until next season, hoping they have a plan where McGovern is a backup.

On PFF, Morse was rated 20th out of 36 qualified centers last season and has been slipping every season. He is near the end of his career and needs to be replaced soon. I know that many think PFF is garbage and I take their ratings with some skepticism myself; but on the other hand all 32 NFL teams (including the Bills) pay for their professional services.

Sure, it's complex with a lot of moving parts, but no one is expected to get everything right. There are 31 other guys with the same complex job and you're trying to be better than them. Beyond that it fixes the incentive teams have in the late 3rd of a tie game. Would fans rather watch teams battle for a 3 point win or try to hang on for a guaranteed point? Teams should be incentivized to play for the 3 pt. win in regulation. Not to play for the guaranteed pt. of a tie. This is a huge mistake by the NHL that should be fixed after this season. If they don't like the 3 point win they should do away with the 1 pt. ties altogether. Using the shootout there are no more ties anyway.

I'm not hell bent on them taking a particular guy or position in the first, but trading up for another crack at drafting a good de is just a terrible idea imo. How much draft and cap capital has he spent the last 4 seasons on this one position with what results? From the very start I said to build a great offensive line and give Allen elite weapons. Outscoring everyone should be the goal, not trying to stop a particular individual or team. Also, no matter how good the defense is they aren't used properly in critical moments anyway. It doesn't matter how many great players you have when you line up 8 yards back on 3rd and 3.

Wouldn't surprise me if he starts and plays well in Chicago, I thought he was pretty good when given the chance for the Bills.

I have seen a few of his games. Once again, I am not advocating for or against, I am merely pointing out that for a guy who, as you say, is a threat to score on every play......he only scored 5 tds on 75 catches last season. Stats never tell the whole story, but watching more of his tape won't change those numbers... They are in the books, people can make of it whatever they like.

His speed makes him a threat on every play... but the reality is he scored only 5tds on 75 rec this past season. Franklin for example scored 14 times on 81 catches. Straight line speed doesn't necessarily convey or take the place of great route running, deceptive breaks, elusive moves in space, etc.

I'm not advocating for or against, but I would think that running a 4.34 40 at 205lbs would qualify as an elite trait...

Ya The Panthers aggressive D makes it harder to get set up. I think the Sabres need to put more pucks and players to the net and not try to pass it around for the perfect shot. UPL has been great. Here we go....Let's Go Sabres! PP coming up...

They may have only a slim chance at the playoffs but I'm enjoying watching them play the last few weeks. It's been a while since I've watched many games but it reminds me how much I miss it. I'll watch until they're in or eliminated. They really need a breakthrough. If they can win on the road against a really good team tonight and keep this streak going.....who knows

Thomas is a great talent as well. I have heard from many that he probably won't make it to 28. I don't know enough to have an opinion on that. I guess we'll found out in a couple months. I prefer Franklin because I think he is a more complete receiver at this point (and I'm a Ducks fan), route running, deceptive breaks, etc. But I like Thomas size, speed and elusiveness as well. I'd be happy if they land either one of those 2.

One thing I like about Franklin that I'd like to add; Bo Nix is a very mobile qb who likes to evade the rush and extend plays like Allen does. Franklin was great at getting open and being available for him in those situations. I met my wife at the Univ of Oregon where she ran track and we are followers of all Ducks sports. We still live near Eugene 28 years later. I have probably seen almost every one of his games on TV or in person. He is a threat to score from anywhere on the field and especially on extended plays. He is also a nuanced receiver who runs great routes with deceptive breaks and short area quickness. He's not just fast.
