Good God man... we don't want him because he's got no exceptional aspect to his game, whatsoever. Yeah, like Tyrod he was a late round draft pick. But Tyrod has exceptional athleticism... which is the whole reason there's ever been the prospect of him being a Franchise QB. What exceptional quality or characteristic does Siemian possess? If we bring him in, we've traded Taylor to the Broncos for Siemian in a massive package to move up to #5 to draft our starting QB. Siemian, at best, would be a momentary placeholder.

Don't worry, that's just what he does. He gets owned so much in some of his ridiculous arguments and then just tries to twist everything around as much as possible confusing the issue, pretending like he "won," which oddly enough he seems to care waaaaayyy too much about (so much so that he can't typically see the forest for the trees) and then suddenly turns into some juvenile claiming he won an argument he never won. Sometimes he'll make a good point, though... sometimes

I think assuming the bills have "their guy" and that "their guy" won't change between now and whenever "their guy" is finally decided is a bit foolish. We haven't even had the combine or free agency or interviews with draft prospects or draft prospect visits. I love the situation this team is in right now because I have so much confidence in McBeane deciding whatever they need to do that's right regarding the QB. I don't think they know so rigidly that they'll refuse to change their minds in the future. I'm sure they have someone that they really like right now, but that might change next week.

The problem with your theory of "that ship has sailed" is that McBeane will have a "fair market value" in their heads of how much they expect to give up and in return of such a trade. I agree that's what plan A almost certainly is to do exactly what you said. But if you think plan B, where Buffalo doesn't get what they feel is fair market value and so keeps Taylor for 1 more year while also drafting a QB in the 1st... I think you're being naive.
-
Yes, if they get what they want.... ie: what they feel is fair. And I'm betting McDermott and Beane value Taylor a helluva lot more than some here think they do. If they don't get what they feel is fair, they likely keep him. people are idiots. It's that simple. Hot takes hot takes hot takes!!! God people say such stupid things

It wasn't a great season from Shady, first of all. Shady had one of the worst YPC years of his career. Defensive turnovers? Did you literally say "defensive turnovers" or, like many, did you say something like "Taylor could only be the QB of a team with a great defense!" ??? I can believe you said the latter, not the former. Our defense got timely defensive turnovers in a lot of games this year. But our Defense was average, at best. Bwahahahaha!!!! And this is the pathetic ridiculousness of this argument. There are people here so neck deep in their own blind hatred of Taylor as a QB that they lose touch with reality. Peterman sucks. It was one awful game... the worst half in a half a century from a QB, along with a pass that is still in the air to the sideline in a playoff game waiting to be picked! If Peterman does one thing this offseason, he better get in the gym with an expert QB like Tom Brady and figure out how the hell to make his arm strong enough to throw simple NFL throws like a sideline out.

Well, if we're going by what's said or not said, Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane have spoken on the subject of Tyrod Taylor twice since the season ended. Once at the year end PC and once at the Senior Bowl. At the year end PC, here's some of what Beane said: "We're not satisfied with the whole offense and it wasn't just about Tyrod. There are a lot of hands in the cookie jar so to speak. Sean and I are going to talk about everything. We know we have to get better on offense, defense and special teams. We are far from a finished product. We have a lot of work to do and we know that. That's going to get started pretty quickly after this press conference." "The great thing about Tyrod is you can never question his work ethic. He does so many good things and gives himself the best chance to succeed on the field, by what he does off." at the senior bowl, here's some of what was said by Beane and then McDermott: Beane: "Tyrod did a lot of good things and you have to look at what are the things he could have done better? What are the other things that happened? Was it receivers running the wrong route? Maybe we could have run a better play. There are just so many different things that you could do, and I’m sure Tyrod knows there are things he could’ve done better. We’re still early in the process. We like Tyrod a lot. He works hard and he does a lot of good things.” McDermott: “I’m not going to get into Tyrod’s future. Like I mentioned earlier, we’re still going through our evaluation. Those decisions will come at some point down the road here. I thought the quarterback position, in particular Tyrod, and then Nate (Peterman), did some good things. I’ve mentioned before the work ethic, the intangibles that Tyrod brings to the table are very much appreciated and a big part of how we did things this year and what we were able to do. I thought he did some good things. So, overall, we’ll continue to evaluate where we are and what’s right for this organization moving forward.” The one thing everyone keeps reaching for as almost the sole evidence that Taylor is obviously gone is his benching, which would go a long way in that argument if Dennison, (the guy who reportedly wanted Peterman rather than Taylor because Peterman was the better fit) wasn't fired. But Dennison was fired, and looking at the part of Beane's quote I underlined, I think he and McDermott knew they wanted him gone at that PC, if not earlier. And the guy we brought in as OC spent an entire year last year working with a very limited run first QB who is a fraction the QB Taylor is. I just think the writing is more on the wall for Taylor to stay than he is to leave, barring a massive trade up in an effort to get one of the top couple prospects.

I'll be very curious if Taylor is still under center this year how many of you actually stick to this proclamation. It's amazing how much hatred some of you have for Taylor. Yes, it's hatred. Not hatred for the man. Hatred for the QB. If you hate Taylor the QB enough to not watch your favorite team on the 16 guaranteed days you get to watch him in a 365 day calendar year then, well, I think that's strange, especially coming off a season where we made the playoffs and in an offseason where I expect we will massively upgrade many other positions, especially if Taylor is retained and we don't trade up for a QB. I expect this team to be better next year, no matter who's under center. I'm excited to find out who's under center. I know this, for me, as a fan the football season is too short to not watch the games. I really don't care who's under center. If Taylor's under center, I expect it'll be in his last year as a Bill with a rookie waiting in the wings, but if he starts, I'll watch and be excited in September. If the Bills acquire Cousins somehow, which I just don't think is going to happen, but if they do, I'll watch and be excited in September. If the Bills go out and get Trevor Siemian, Josh McCown, Brian Hoyer, Tom Savage or some other crap QB I don't want, I'll still watch the Bills and be excited in September. I would never say another fan isn't a fan, but I just don't get fans who say stuff like this... or, more specifically, fans who actually follow through with stuff like this, since I think there's a lot of hot air people like to throw out here.

No, it won't. It will be a normal opening to the season. New era field will be sold out to begin the season. Fans will be excited and cheering. The difference, I'm sure, will be that fans will also be much more quick to turn on Taylor. But if McDermott decides to keep Taylor and start him, I'm sure he'd be doing it because he believes the change from Dennison to Dabol could make a huge difference. It's a process

You are the most obsessed person when it comes to Tyrod Taylor, by far. You just have to bring him up in conversation when he's not even relevant. Just amazing.
