  1. Yep... clearly you're upset... or Josh Allen's mommy.
  2. Honestly... I'm starting to wonder if he's the first QB off the board
  3. https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/02/08/baker-mayfield-draft-browns-jets-cardinals-dolphins-saints-giants-redskins-chargers-bills-broncos Baker Mayfield’s 10 Potential Landing Spots 8. Buffalo BillsWhere they pick in Round 1: Nos. 21 and 22Key player: Brandon Beane, general managerI could see head coach Sean McDermott falling in love with Mayfield’s origin story—the two-time walk-on who won the Heisman. New offensive coordinator Brian Daboll oversaw a run-heavy offense as Alabama’s coordinator last year but has a great deal of familiarity with the offensive concepts employed at Oklahoma and across the college football landscape. In McDermott’s first year in Buffalo’s war room, they demonstrated a willingness to deal picks at any juncture, in any direction, moving back 17 picks in the first round, then moving up seven picks in the second round to draft wide receiver Zay Jones, and moving up 12 picks into the bottom of the second round to select offensive lineman Dion Dawkins. If they’re kicking themselves for not using last year’s 10th overall pick (traded to Kansas City) on Patrick Mahomes, they can use the capital acquired in that deal to trade up and draft another former Texas Tech quarterback in Mayfield. Tyrod Taylor said in January the team has yet to inform him of his status going into 2018, but it’s safe to assume they’re in the market for a replacement after benching him for Nathan Peterman at one point last season.
  4. You seem upset. Why?
  5. Mayfield isn't a scramble first guy... so I still don't get it.
  6. Well, luckily that's why you have coaches. Favre pretty adamantly and publicly refused to "teach" or "mentor" Rodgers while he was the backup. Taylor wouldn't be doing any teaching... he wouldn't have to. But I don't think Allen will ever be a Franchise QB, no matter who's teaching him.
  7. People here have been doing this ever since Beane got here as an argument for the next QB we draft. Beane may have said that nearly a year ago, but people change their minds. Or better yet, I don't think he said or meant that he would only exclusively consider a pocket QB.
  8. I heard Colin Cowherd today on his radio show do a top 10 trade for the 49ers at #9 with Buffalo so we could move up. He had us draft Allen... which I would be disgusted with and I really really don't think or want to happen. But if we did that and drafted Mayfield... super stoked!!! And I just bothered looking at Jimmy Johnson's draft chart... I think they would trade back to us for both our firsts since the 9th pick is worth 1350 and the 21st and 22nd picks are worth 1580. You can argue that's overpaying, but considering we'd still have 2 2nd rounders, 2 5th rounders and a 3rd and 4th round pick, I'd do it if we could ensure landing Mayfield.
  9. This all just has to be a smokescreen. I really just can't believe a smart NFL GM, as I hope and believe Beane is, would make this mistake again in the same way the Raiders did with Jamarcus Russell or the Titans did with Locker or we did with Manuel or etc.... May field!!! May field!!! May field!!! May field!!!
  10. Everyone voting Allen. Why? Legit question. And if you're argument is arm strength and measurables alone... may I refer you to former top overall pick for the Oakland Raiders Jamarcuss Russell?
  11. Good God... Colin Cowherd seems to think this is the case, too. I sure hope it's not remotely accurate, but Cowherd today on his show did a top 10 mock draft and predicted the 49ers would trade down with us and we would trade up to #9 to draft Allen. YUCK!!! If we do that to draft Mayfield, however... WOHOO!!!
  12. He might end up being better One thing's for sure... he can take a hit
  13. Seem like poor reasons. Cam Newton was the last Heisman winning QB to come into the NFL, wasn't he? Or was it Mariota? Regardless, both are doing just fine in the NFL, aren't they?
  14. I think you're misunderstanding me... we would absolutely need a vet on the roster, but it's going to be one of those "step down backup QB only" type guys.
  15. Yes. Next to Rosen... maybe even moreso... I think Mayfield could start week #1.
  16. Something about Rosen just rubs me the wrong way, but I'll be happy if we get him. I just feel like he has such an expansive injury history, though. And I think Mayfield's attitude fits in with WNY much better than Rosen, who seems like a New York Giants type of QB.
  17. http://www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/31241/bills-can-improve-from-tyrod-taylor-in-late-game-situations The game plan: The home run for the Bills would be to snag one of the draft's top quarterbacks by executing a trade at a reasonable asking price. The problem is that the Bills will not know until April whether that can happen, so they must make decisions in the coming days about Taylor and free-agent quarterbacks independent of their draft plans. Keeping Taylor as insurance or as the starter next season is one option, but trading him and acquiring a quarterback at a comparable or lower price would also make sense. The unlikely scenario is the Bills splurging on a top free agent such as Kirk Cousins or Case Keenum. It would also be surprising if the Bills let Taylor go and rode into 2018 with Peterman as their starting quarterback; he simply is not ready. Right... so basically... trade Taylor (potentially as part of a package) if we're able to trade up in the draft for one of the best guys (please please please let it be Mayfield) or we'll stay put and draft the 4th or 5th best guy (Jackson... ?) while keeping Taylor for one more year as an insurance bridge guy... yeah, sounds good
  18. More than a 1st and a 4th?!?! What a joke. Can we stop talking about even entertaining this idea of trading for Nick Foles now?
  19. Yes. Mayfield looks like he has a similar type of pocket awareness and ability to find passing lanes to Brees. Mayfield is 6' 5/8". I don't know how accurate Brees's listed 6'0" is, but the guys just seems like a winner and a leader of men.
  20. You were probably lucky, then. Do you think that all people who get arrested are bad people? Especially college kids when it comes to alcohol? He was drunk, evidently being yelled at by someone and in the middle of a fight and then confronted by a cop... bad combination. By the sounds of it, unlike Johnny Football, he's not a big worry in terms of being addicted. I think the guy just has a massive chip on his shoulder.
  21. Some of what I've heard/read is that after this weekend the top 3 guys are Rosen, Darnold, and Allen who has propelled himself up into discussion as the top pick. It's just unfathomable to me. I'm so freakin confused that people aren't talking more about Mayfield. He's the only QB of this bunch that I'll be 100% ecstatic in getting with really no reservations. I'll be pumped about the other guys, but Rosen's attitude/durability scares me, Darnold's propensity for turnovers and rather underwhelming 2017 season scares me, and Jackson's playing style combined with injury risk scares me. Mayfield, to me, really just seems like the most sure thing of the bunch at QB. The guy is just a winner who loves the game and has a massive chip on his shoulder. Love that!
