Agreed on all counts. Just target and draft a damn 1st round QB, please! -
Guess the longshot QB
transplantbillsfan replied to BuffaloHokie13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the primary folks who view Taylor as a longshot starter in 2018 for the Bills are the national media who doesn't really focus on or care much about the Bills and a faction of fans on places like this message board who have generally disdained Taylor for the bulk of his tenure in Buffalo. We might cut him, but even the national reporters like Rappaport are catching onto the fact that even that is rather unlikely. We might trade him, if we can. We might go after Cousins, but at his price tag, I just kind of doubt it. I'm 99.9% sure we're drafting a QB in the first round to replace him and eager to see who that might be (Please GOD don't let it be Josh Allen!!!), but good GOD, can you just imagine the uproar here the night of Thursday, April 26th if the 1st round ends and in the 1st round the Bills didn't trade up and, instead, spent their 2 1st round picks on a DL and OL!!! -
Bills to explore trade market for tyrod

You seriously couldn't figure out what game he was talking about? If you actually thought his post before was dumb, it's (sorry to be so blunt here) because you lacked common sense. -
Bills to explore trade market for tyrod

Probably because of the other side of this coin. It's likely a simple "If/then" statement: IF the Bills are considering keeping him past the March 16th deadline, paying him the $6million bonus in an effort to trade him for something better THEN they are also considering keeping him on the team in 2018 if they don't get what they feel is fair compensation for him. Well, that's the point I just addressed. They wouldn't cut him if they kept him after March 16th. If the Bills are considering keeping him, paying his bonus, and exploring trade options between March 16th and the draft. They're also very likely considering keeping him for the remainder of his contract if they don't get what they feel is fair value for him. -
Bills to explore trade market for tyrod

I think it's March 16th... but it sounds like the Bills are considering keeping him, paying him the bonus, and continuing to explore trade options approaching draft time, likely in an effort to move up in the draft to get a QB. Once the Bills pay him the $6million bonus, other teams are not liable for that money. -
Bills to explore trade market for tyrod

I mean... really people... of course the Bills are going to explore trade options for Taylor. March 17th isn't the definitive date we know whether Taylor remains a Bill in 2018. It's after the draft. I anticipate the Bills are considering packages they can put together to trade up into the top 5 so they can land Mayfield/Darnold/Rosen and I expect the Bills would like to make Taylor part of that package in order to keep draft picks while the leap up to draft the guy to replace him. It's amazing this has to be reported considering how obvious it is that a team would be exploring all options in the offseason -

Well duuuhhhhh.... someone actually needed to report this? -
Why are you such a Sesquipedalian as of late?

No.

Ladies and gentlemen... hypocrisy at its finest... stay on topic in my own thread even though I'm free to wander any damn way I please in any other thread. "Well, actually, no. This is a general thread and not Transplunts Alternate Truth - Hoyer or Tyrod argument. So I rescind my OOPS" The answer is obvious. 2015 was when Taylor had the best weapons... it's a yuuuuge reason that was his best year. And I still think this is what's most likely to happen. Man... some people here will just EXPLODE if that happens! Most QBs depend on weapons. Is your definition of a Franchise QB an Elite QB? What a weird statement.

Break Fitzgerald? Ummm... why? I could see an argument that Taylor just wouldn't throw him the ball, but you seem to imply Taylor has a habit of putting his WRs in positions to get injured. Is that what you're saying? If so... it just seems a strange take that flies in the face of reality. Of course, it wouldn't be the first time that you've done that. Hey look at my absolutely insane lack of any objectivity everyone!

MMQB's 2018 Top 100 Draft Board
transplantbillsfan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fair enough, but talent only gets you so far. Drive. Determination. Competitive fire go a long way. Rosen might be the most talented, but a lot of the "reports" question how much he loves the game. That, to me, is a huge red flag. No one questions Mayfield's love for the game. -
MMQB's 2018 Top 100 Draft Board
transplantbillsfan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting. Rudolph isn't even in the top 50. I still think Mayfield will be the best of this bunch, but other than Allen, I'll take any of the other QBs on that list -
Weird... Taylor was 12th in the NFL on 3rd down passing plays out of 37 tracked QBs at 42.7%. Oh... and before you try vomiting any narrative about how that doesn't factor in when he pulls the ball down and runs... he was even better when you factor that in at nearly 46%. But let's all keep saying things that twist reality.

"He's bad folks, real bad." "He's a dunce at QB. How can this not be seen?" These are the types of asinine posts that will buoy this ridiculous antagonism on this message board as long as Taylor remains a Bills. Some of us are sane and realize Taylor is okay to good, but not great. And some of us make absolutely stupid statements like "He's a dunce at QB."

NFL Draft QBs Stats based on Defensive Rank
transplantbillsfan replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty much all for anyone but Allen. But I think Mayfield is the most sure thing at QB in this draft if he's in Buffalo.
