Nope. They don't always... for sure. That doesn't mean they're wrong. And it is, notably, such an overwhelming response, though... with some pretty well respected "film guys" (Miller & Prisco) thrown in there, as well. With his very first throw tonight Peterman convinced me he's either out of the starting job already or will be yanked absolutely no later than mid-season. Dude's clearly not an NFL starting QB.

Oh wow... I legitimately thought that game would have turned the corner for you, but you're just clinging for dear life, aren't you? Peterman's very 1st pass tonight is exactly the reason he's going to spend the vast majority, if not all, of this year on the bench. And even after that throw Peterman was still awful for a drive or two... he was close to fumbling getting hit from behind a few times there. His stat line looks good courtesy of a massively busted coverage. What he showed to me tonight is that the narrative that his arm strength is improved significantly enough to make a difference is a false narrative. Allen will start this year. If not in week 1, it's going to be at some point probably in the first half of the season after Peterman collapses, which very well could be in Baltimore, who is probably salivating at the notion of jumping routes and collecting INTs from him to start off their season.

Bills injury updates - Training Camp/Preseason

McCarron with a hairline fracture on his collarbone. Peterman is clearly hurt in the knee(s) at the end of that game. Allen is going to start, but who do we get to back him up? -

He's big, athletic, tough and mobile. Peterman and McCarron are guys you don't want QBing behind a bad OL. I think Allen is showing he's going to take some rookie lumps, but seems to be able to handle it. -

You guys see the background McDermott going up to Taylor and giving him a hug before the game while the Cleveland reporter was being interviewed on NFL Network? Classy... both guys. -

A couple questions on QB week 1 starter
transplantbillsfan replied to MTBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It should be the best QB who gives us the best chance to win who can handle what's thrown at him and not fall into the same quicksand mentality Peterman seemed to fall into last year against the Chargers. Personally, I just think that's the guy who's clearly the most talented guy on the roster right now. I'll be fine with McCarron, but reports are he's just taking a crazy amount of sacks. I don't know if that's more on him or on the OL, but I don't really get the sense that Allen would be rattled if he started and got some pressure. The fact that Allen is the most talented QB on the roster by a mile is the reason I want him to start. But the fact that he seems extremely mentally and emotionally tough is the reason I also think he should start. -
I'll refer you to a post from the last page where I responded directly to play: This tells me you clearly didn't watch the breakdown. Allen actually looked off the up front defender enough to get him to hesitate so that Allen could fit that ball in that window. That had nothing to do with NFL starter vs. NFL backup because NFL starters are affected by QBs looking off defenders, as well. Yeah, the middle read in the EZ was open, as well. And it would have been an easier pass, for sure. But again, the video breakdown that you watch gives an explanation for this, as well.

Look at Happydays thread with the Cover1 breakdown of Allen's final drive and watch the part where they break down that TD throw: It's really not at all that "Allen just stared down double coverage" considering the subtleties of what he did to get that CB to be just late enough to dive for the ball and it's broken down pretty well in that video.

Really? I'll respectfully disagree. That was just a spectacular throw by Allen. Another poster said that the throw looked "ill-advised" when he threw it--and it did look that way--except for the fact that Allen escaped pressure and threw the ball about as accurately as he could have to Lee 40 yards in the air while going backwards off his back foot. It didn't look like a pass that should have been thrown, except that it was an extremely accurate pass. Like I said, Lee had great awareness because of the body he put into the defender so he had the space to catch the ball. That part of the process of the catch was fantastic. The catch was a pretty standard NFL catch.

It's the slow burn approach. I love it. Great acting is absolutely necessary for it to work. But it's what makes scenes like Kim blowing up at Howard or the final scene of the last episode that much more effective.
