Mixed economic numbers today. And .... (ASDP is a typo, should be ADP). The "recession" question is sarcasm from him.

Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread

More polls. Tulsi isn't at the next debate, however: -
Wow, that is some reason to not have to pay - I filed a police report but didn't think they'd really investigate it so well. I still am not sure this should happen (law of unintended consequences and all that), but the defense's reasoning is Jussie Smollett lawyers: Even if actor faked attack, cops didn’t need to investigate it so vigorously SNEED EXCLUSIVE: The ex-”Empire’’ actor’s latest court filing, while not admitting he staged the incident, pins the decision to spend so much money on the police probe squarely on law enforcement. </snip> “We contend the city is wrong,” Quinlan said of the city’s assertion that Smollett should have known the city would spend nearly 2,000 hours investigating. “ ... The mere fact somebody filed a police report doesn’t presume the investigation will be done and certainly not to the extent of what the city is claiming. </snip>

"offending a whole community" A new restaurant in New Mexico has sparked controversy over menu items named after popular phrases used by President Trump. Urban Taqueria, located in Albuquerque, is the talk of the town after some customers complained about the use of terms like “The Wall,” “The Immigrant” and “Lock Her Up” on its menu. Critics say the terms are offensive to certain communities and perpetuate hate speech. "The way things are right now. It's not good," customer Juan Hernandez told local TV station KOAT. "We need to have respect for others and have limits." </snip> -
Trump Wants To Regulate Google
Buffalo_Gal replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Google emerges as target of a new state attorneys general antitrust probe More than half of state attorneys general are preparing to announce an investigation into Google next week. More than half of the nation’s state attorneys general are readying an investigation into Google for potential antitrust violations, scheduled to be announced next week, marking a major escalation in U.S. regulators’ efforts to probe Silicon Valley’s largest companies. A smaller group of these state officials, representing the broader coalition, is expected to unveil the investigation at a Monday news conference in Washington, according to three people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss a law enforcement proceeding on the record, cautioning the plans could change. </snip> -
Ummmm Omar feels the heat - </snip> In the past three weeks I have circled back to interview sources whom I have found to be highly reliable in the Omar saga. They open a window onto the scandals from the perspective of Ahmed Hirsi, her long-time partner and the father of her three children. According to sources, Hirsi is telling friends: • that he will not go to jail for Omar; • that while Omar did indeed marry her brother (Ahmed Elmi) for fraudulent purposes, Hirsi did not know at the time that she had married Elmi; • that Omar is threatening Hirsi he would be in trouble along with her if the truth were to come out; • that Omar has asked him to state publicly that all is well with their marriage even though it is completely done and finished; and • that in fact they are living apart and have been divorced under Islamic law (although they remain legally married). </snip>

Third complaint. I gotta say, China certainly has hutzpah. All China has to do is deal fairly and honestly with the United States (hahahaha) and the tariffs go away. But nooooooooooooo... China lodges tariff case at WTO against the U.S. China has lodged a complaint against the United States at the World Trade Organization over U.S. import duties, the Chinese Commerce Ministry said on Monday. </snip> The lawsuit is the third Beijing has brought to challenge U.S. President Donald Trump’s China-specific tariffs at the WTO, the international organisation that limits the tariffs each country is allowed to charge. </snip>

I'll slap it in economy too. -
I am not certain they are all uninformed (some are), but others are willfully ignorant, still others see themselves as gatekeepers of information, and yet others are merely talking heads reading, and only "knowing" what the TelePrompter tells them to say (and think). Sometimes I worry that what has happened is too much for the average person to grasp, especially with a complicit media keeping the main details away from the average citizen who does not actively seek out the source documents.

I think I have a different definition of "friends" than the rest of the world. Just because you work with someone does not make you "friends". It could, but it could just as easily make you enemies. Those two very well could be friends. They could also have been merely work colleagues. Or, they could have had just a nodding acquaintance. It could very well be extrapolation to call the two friends.

This latest one will be memory-holed quickly as a Bernie supporting Buddhist does not fit the narrative.
