  1. How do you win half a game?
  2. I think if McDermott pulls a hammy he'll still be able to coach.
  3. They have Garrett Wilson. We're more desperate. At least we should be.
  4. He didn't know they'd down it at the four. A touchback and you have it at the 20 with two time outs left and 40 seconds to get into field goal range. However, given how poor are passing attack was I'd have accepted the 10 second run off. No matter what decision he made on the run off though he'd receive criticism for either being too aggressive or too conservative.
  5. Oh, absolutely. The faux outrage is just as bad in sports as it is in politics. I do remember at the time though wishing Tua wouldn't miss time because I thought Bridgewater was better. Then he got concussed the following game.
  6. Blindsided? LOL. "Woody, I thought we agreed to wait until the evening so it didn't mess with my McAfee appearance."
  7. Besides the Baltimore game they've been pretty good considering all the injuries. Our offense doesn't have that excuse and they're the reason we lost the Houston game.
  8. Defense isn't the problem. I don't want him even as a consultant as I don't want his shadow over Babich as we need to find out of he's a competent defensive coordinator.
  9. Higher win %. Yes. They perform about the same ATS though. A team may be more motivated if they hated their head coach. Also, usually when a head coach gets fired when they're coming off some games where there's some unlucky statistical randomness (turnovers, unlucky bounces, etc.) and a regression to the mean is bound to happen. You got some of that in the Denver game where the weather was awful and the London game where Rodgers uncharacteristically threw three int's.
  10. Anybody who's watched football over the last 20 years knows there's no way they're overturning that ruling on the field. Even the announcers admitted at the end it wouldn't have been overturned after thinking it through.
  11. The announcers are idiots then.
  12. I know. It's just funny that there's two Connor McGovern centers.
  13. Wait. Connor McGovern is playing center?
  14. I'll never understand replay assist. What's the point of challenges?
  15. He didn't lose a challenge though.
  16. The old McDermott would've challenged both and lost both. See. There is room for growth with him.
  17. I'd hate to take targets away from Mack Hollins and MVS.
  18. No thanks on Tyler Boyd. Cooper or Hopkins would be great.
  19. You really only see QB's talk with offensive head coaches who call plays on the sidelines. It's not uncommon for QB's to talk mostly to the QB coach and offensive coordinator. Brady and Belichick rarely talked for example.
  20. Yeah. If I was a Fins fan I'd be kind of ticked off right now. If that happened in a Prime Time game it would be more of a story.
  21. I'm not saying you're wrong because I think he was concussed. However, have you ever gotten the wind knocked out of you? You can't move.
  22. So, it's basically a coin flip in one score games (28) and we win 93% of non one score games (27). I can't tell if this is a McDermott endorsement for being awesome half the time or an indictment for being average half the time.
  23. He's basically 2022 Aaron Rodgers when he lost Adams. Yards are down. TD passes are down. Don't let the lack of interceptions fool you either. His turnover worthy play percentage (a PFF lover's stat) is the worst since 2018. The Jaguars game was a mirage because they really suck.
  24. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5764056/2024/09/12/what-is-nfl-concussion-protocol/ Who has the final say about the player’s status? If a player doesn’t exhibit one of the “no-go” symptoms, then each step of the league’s concussion protocol is determined by a team physician in consultation with an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant on the sideline. https://static.www.nfl.com/image/upload/v1665264248/league/moexjmdzy2kvjtqsdpbx.pdf Regardless, the responsibility for the diagnosis of concussion and the decision to return a player to a game remains exclusively within the professional judgment of the Head Team Physician or his/her physician designee responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of concussion For the avoidance of doubt, the responsibility for the diagnosis of concussion and the decision to return a player to a game remain exclusively within the professional judgment of the Head Team Physician or the Club physician designated as responsible for the diagnosis and management of concussion.
  25. No. Head team physician still has final say.
