Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
Doc Brown replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Defense isn't the problem. I don't want him even as a consultant as I don't want his shadow over Babich as we need to find out of he's a competent defensive coordinator. -
Higher win %. Yes. They perform about the same ATS though. A team may be more motivated if they hated their head coach. Also, usually when a head coach gets fired when they're coming off some games where there's some unlucky statistical randomness (turnovers, unlucky bounces, etc.) and a regression to the mean is bound to happen. You got some of that in the Denver game where the weather was awful and the London game where Rodgers uncharacteristically threw three int's.

Not challenging Dalton sideline catch or Cook TD
Doc Brown replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Anybody who's watched football over the last 20 years knows there's no way they're overturning that ruling on the field. Even the announcers admitted at the end it wouldn't have been overturned after thinking it through. -

The announcers are idiots then. -
I know. It's just funny that there's two Connor McGovern centers.
-
Wait. Connor McGovern is playing center?
-
I'll never understand replay assist. What's the point of challenges?

He didn't lose a challenge though. -

The old McDermott would've challenged both and lost both. See. There is room for growth with him. -
Raiders are open to trading Davante Adams

I'd hate to take targets away from Mack Hollins and MVS. -

No thanks on Tyler Boyd. Cooper or Hopkins would be great. -
How was Josh able to finish the game with a concussion?
Doc Brown replied to JakeFrommStateFarm's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah. If I was a Fins fan I'd be kind of ticked off right now. If that happened in a Prime Time game it would be more of a story. -

I'm not saying you're wrong because I think he was concussed. However, have you ever gotten the wind knocked out of you? You can't move. -
So, it's basically a coin flip in one score games (28) and we win 93% of non one score games (27). I can't tell if this is a McDermott endorsement for being awesome half the time or an indictment for being average half the time.

He's basically 2022 Aaron Rodgers when he lost Adams. Yards are down. TD passes are down. Don't let the lack of interceptions fool you either. His turnover worthy play percentage (a PFF lover's stat) is the worst since 2018. The Jaguars game was a mirage because they really suck.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5764056/2024/09/12/what-is-nfl-concussion-protocol/ Who has the final say about the player’s status? If a player doesn’t exhibit one of the “no-go” symptoms, then each step of the league’s concussion protocol is determined by a team physician in consultation with an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant on the sideline. https://static.www.nfl.com/image/upload/v1665264248/league/moexjmdzy2kvjtqsdpbx.pdf Regardless, the responsibility for the diagnosis of concussion and the decision to return a player to a game remains exclusively within the professional judgment of the Head Team Physician or his/her physician designee responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of concussion For the avoidance of doubt, the responsibility for the diagnosis of concussion and the decision to return a player to a game remain exclusively within the professional judgment of the Head Team Physician or the Club physician designated as responsible for the diagnosis and management of concussion. -

No. Head team physician still has final say. -
Worst (regular season) coached game in the entire McD era
Doc Brown replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott didn't know that Martin would boom a punt from the back of his end zone that resulted in the return man not getting them in field goal range even with no time outs left for the Texans. It was a tricky situation but run, run, roll out pass/qb eat it if it wasn't there was pry the correct series of calls there. However, there was no guarantee whatsoever that Houston doesn't get a FG attempt just because they used all their time outs. -
And ignore the 2018 and 2019 seasons before we traded for Diggs.

I think it's the head team physician that makes the final decision of whether to put him back in the game with input of the unaffiliated neurologist. -
I think it takes another week. If we get humiliated on MNF with a similar WR performance then Beane might sell the farm for Cooper or Hopkins.
-
The fact that I read this and didn't outright dismiss it shows how hopeless my feeling is at WR right now.

You can't disprove it though. Two years ago and Tua's a shrimp. -
Looks like he said "Jump ball four" and then "jump ball that." I'm not an expert lip reader but I'm pretty close.
