  1. Benford was an outlier given his draft position (we drafted a punter before him) and about half of first round picks are busts. Odds of that happening again are slim. Just because Elam was a swing and a miss doesn't mean you take another swing. I think they draft at least one with their first three picks and then one in the later rounds.
  2. Start the social media watch like olden times..
  3. For those interested. He's been consistently awful if you lend credence to PFF scores. First four years PFF run defense grades starting in 2020 - 39.1, 40.7, 37.9, 40.7
  4. Four seasons with Arizona - 89 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and 7 QB hits. He'll fit right in.
  5. If he sets the floor than we're living in a basement at CB2.
  6. What? There's an abundance of research out there that victims of rape are significantly less likely to report it than other forms of assault. I would maybe do a little research or just sit this one out.
  7. I'm not saying that's better or worse than rape so don't strawman me. Never experienced either. You're more likely to report being beaten a pulp and your car stolen than being raped though. I'm just going by the research man.
  8. You just answered your own question.
  9. I never thought I'd say this about the Patriots but beggars can't be choosers. Also, say what you want about Diggs the person but I never questioned his work ethic when he's locked in. If there's anybody that can come back from an ACL tear even in his early 30's and still be at least a serviceable WR2 it's him.
  10. There's a better shot he signs with the Toronto Argonauts than signing back here.
  11. Patriots front office saw him play against them twice every year and burn their CB's on multiple occasions. They also saw the year two to three leap happen with Allen when we traded for Diggs. When Diggs is in the right frame of mind he can be a QB's best friend and be a leader among the young WR group they have. Giving him a one year contract with all the cap space they have is pry worth it in their minds when it comes to developing Maye.
  12. He might have to make amends with about six fans though.
  13. Another scenario I rarely here mentioned is that Diggs was going to be traded by the Vikings that year likely to a team ahead of in the draft for their first round pick. Vikings still take Jefferson and we pry take Brandon Aiyuk or Laviska Shenault.
  14. We already blew it by not trading for Metcalf. Let me know if there's a WR who's a 6'4" physical freak that runs a 4.33 40 time in this draft.
  15. NFL is where 31 of 32 fan bases are disappointed at the end of each year. You have to enjoy the season in the moment. It was a really fun year to be a Bills fan.
  16. Andrew Luck averaged getting stacked 2.02 times per game. Joe Burrow has averaged getting sacked 2.96 times per game. He's going to have to play through a lot of pain if he wants a long career.
  17. I'd rather this administration just raise our taxes at this point because at least they'd be honest with us.
  18. He was on pace for 114 catches for 1204 yards and 7 TD's last year before tearing the ACL. I never questioned Diggs work ethic when he was "locked in" and I wouldn't bet against him.
  19. I get where you're going but you need the offensive roster similar to what we had in 2020. Three receivers like Diggs, Beasley, and John Brown still at their peak physically and a top five o-line in pass protection. Led to the most passing yards and lowest running yards of Alllen's career.
  20. It's absolutely not nonsense. He could've said $70m per year fully guaranteed or I'm asking for a trade. The Bills wouldn't have flinched in giving it to him.
  21. He's playing. Keeping him in the spotlight by saying stupid crap and then complaining about the media focusing too much on him is what he lives for. Plus, making $30-$40m year is just dumb to turn down. I don't care how rich you already are.
  22. I agree with most of this but I took the question more literally. I'd give Beane a C- during this period because we didn't trade for Metcalf. Just a 2nd rounder for him blew my mind. We could've offered a 2nd and a 5th and Seattle pry trades him here. It was the only move that would've moved the needle for me because we weren't getting Garrett or Henderson. Neither was a real possibility imo. You're right in that the only path we have now is for our young guys to develop. I'd also add that we need whoever we draft at DT in the first two rounds has to be an impact starter and better than DeQuan Jones.
  23. Don't you think that can happen again though? You listed some negatives so I'll just give you the half glass full look. -Continuity with offense and defensive coordinators who theoretically should be better at their job. I think your point about EPA on defense was a good one and maybe Babich should be on the hot seat. I know everyone loves his personality and believe he can grow on the job. However, he has to prove it or I could see McD taking over play calling permanently next year. -Continuity on offense with the same starting five offensive lineman. Has that ever happened here before? Anderson included. -We've seen young players grow in their 2nd and/or 3rd year (Cook, Shakir, Dawkins, Milano, Brown, Knox, T. Johnson, Benford). No reason to believe one or more of Coleman, Kincaid, Torrence, and Carter can't do the same. Players in contract years usually perform well so Cook and Benford should ball out this year. -More competition at safety with signing Darrick Forest and pry drafting another one. I don't think Hamlin's the week one starter. -Again, this is glass half full but Bosa could be the player we all hoped Von would be when he signed here. Do I think he can stay healthy? No. Do I think the Bills will do everything possible to make sure he's a 100% come playoff time when we have to likely play at least two of the three elite QB's in the league (Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow). Yes. I've never been a big free agent guy because there's usually a reason these players hit the open market. It's kind of sad when the best free agent that wasn't re-signed by another team was Jevon Holland. However, Palmer and Bosa intrigue me. You also make a good point about trying to acquire difference makers which is why I'll always be sour that the Bills didn't offer more for Metcalf than the Steelers did. Same goes for not signing Hopkins a couple years back when he went to Tennessee instead.
