  1. Beane just said he's going to wait until after the draft to work on any long term extensions when asked about Cook.
  2. If you remove nostalgia from my brain the one's we currently have with the white helmet are superior to the 90's look in my not so humble opinion.
  3. Veach trading up one slot with the Bills to select him so Beane can get an extra 6th rounder and........this board might explode.
  4. Agents will push for these deals too because of the risk aversion aspect. I wouldn't want to spend a whole season praying my client won't tear an ACL or something.
  5. The new team would then have to pay the $22.85m bonus right away so good luck with that. They're stuck with him.
  6. All our worthy players were extended before it was even a consideration with mixed results (Dawkins, Brown, Poyer, Hyde, Milano, T. White). I could easily see Cook going the Edmunds route next year. If some team wants to overpay for you, so be it.
  7. It's why you have to hit in the draft and sometimes be aggressive. If we traded up for Brian Thomas Jr. last year fans wouldn't even entertain the thought of trading and paying for a DK Metcalf. We still could've re-signed all those guys and acquired/paid Metcalf with some cap gymnastics.
  8. Yeah. It's almost like having a competent GM and HC matters even though they have an elite QB.
  9. Most of what he said is nonsense. We just locked in a top 10 CB (age 24) and a top 20 DE (age 24) for below market value. Those two contracts will look like highway robbery three years from now. The common main criticism of Beane is that we lack truly elite difference makers come playoff time. Beane's like the Pete Rose of the NFL draft. Lots of singles and doubles but very few home runs. Benford was pry his best draft pick besides Allen. However, the one big missed opportunity this off-season was not trading for DK Metcalf imo. He's the only elite player (imo) at a premium position in his prime that the Bills could've easily obtained (2nd and a 5th?) and signed for $30m. We obviously weren't getting Garrett or Crosby as they just wanted to stay where they were with fat new contracts. It worked. I like the Bosa signing because given his injury concerns it's only a one year deal and it's the best option we had on the free agency market. Metcalf is a true #1 freakish athletic WR in his prime that can beat you at all levels of the field and would open up the rest of the offense. I really wish we could've seen Josh throw to someone like him. PFF has him a the #6 CB in 2024 in both wins above replacement and overall grade (79.3). He should've made the Pro Bowl but he's not a big name given he was picked in the 6th round.
  10. If Trump goes through with this you're about to find out.
  11. Because they're Democrats. There's no regulation they don't like to impose. Even they knew how stupid a Tariff War would be though.
  12. No injury occurred twice though and all of them aren't long term concerns (besides the two concussions). I'm not sure if he's injury prone or just unlucky.
  13. A lot of skill position players would pry be opposed to that because they're heavier. Plus, I don't want to watch a bunch of real life bobbleheads playing football.
  14. It's not complicated. All Trump had to do was slash regulations put in under Biden through executive order. Then just golf for four years and let the free market do its thing.
  15. They aren't that important unless they're elite bellcow backs (Barkley, Henry, McCaffrey). Even then you need a strong foundation to maximize their value. For example, Barkley averaged 3.9 ypc behind a bad o-line, poor WR weapons, and poor QB play in 2023. You need to have all those things in place for a RB of his caliber to shine like he did with the Eagles last year. You saw the same thing in Baltimore with Henry.
  16. The guy who doubled the amount of yards Cook gained last year. Great example.
  17. About 90% of Americans use the standard deduction and don't itemize their taxes. A few hundred a month you can write off won't move the needle as the standard deduction will still be the better option. So, this really only positively impacts the well off.
  18. The bond is players after three years don't want to bet on themselves the fourth year so they'll take potentially less money to ensure they're set financially for life. I'd do the same thing too knowing I'm only one injury away from only making around $4m my entire NFL career.
  19. In all fairness to Cook, the NFL's rookie salary wage have negatively impacted RB's the most. Assuming you're not in the Barkley/Henry tier then it's really hard to get top of the market money on a second contract. I get why he's trying to rally people around via social media to put pressure on Beane. It's not working though and pry is counter productive.
  20. The fact that they didn't put out the guaranteed money makes me think it's lower than expected. Maybe around $40m guaranteed. Just a guess though.
  21. That's it? Kid needs a better agent.
  22. The channel is geared towards women and the movies main character is usually a woman. This usually makes the male lead one dimensional and fall into a typical male archetype. Plus, Hallmark saves 25% hiring mostly women.
  23. Both Diggs and Allen realize there's no benefit in them starting a public feud. The relationship clearly soured enough though as Beane strongly hinted at Diggs demanding a trade. Eating $31m in cap space sucked but getting a 2nd rounder for him was impressive given that's apparently ALL IT TOOK TO GET METCALF.
