A lot of skill position players would pry be opposed to that because they're heavier. Plus, I don't want to watch a bunch of real life bobbleheads playing football.

It's Obvious Now - He Wants a Recession
Doc Brown replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's not complicated. All Trump had to do was slash regulations put in under Biden through executive order. Then just golf for four years and let the free market do its thing. -
They aren't that important unless they're elite bellcow backs (Barkley, Henry, McCaffrey). Even then you need a strong foundation to maximize their value. For example, Barkley averaged 3.9 ypc behind a bad o-line, poor WR weapons, and poor QB play in 2023. You need to have all those things in place for a RB of his caliber to shine like he did with the Eagles last year. You saw the same thing in Baltimore with Henry.

The guy who doubled the amount of yards Cook gained last year. Great example.

About 90% of Americans use the standard deduction and don't itemize their taxes. A few hundred a month you can write off won't move the needle as the standard deduction will still be the better option. So, this really only positively impacts the well off.

The bond is players after three years don't want to bet on themselves the fourth year so they'll take potentially less money to ensure they're set financially for life. I'd do the same thing too knowing I'm only one injury away from only making around $4m my entire NFL career.
-
In all fairness to Cook, the NFL's rookie salary wage have negatively impacted RB's the most. Assuming you're not in the Barkley/Henry tier then it's really hard to get top of the market money on a second contract. I get why he's trying to rally people around via social media to put pressure on Beane. It's not working though and pry is counter productive.

The fact that they didn't put out the guaranteed money makes me think it's lower than expected. Maybe around $40m guaranteed. Just a guess though.

That's it? Kid needs a better agent.

You asked, and they listened… (Bills on Hallmark)
Doc Brown replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
The channel is geared towards women and the movies main character is usually a woman. This usually makes the male lead one dimensional and fall into a typical male archetype. Plus, Hallmark saves 25% hiring mostly women. -
Both Diggs and Allen realize there's no benefit in them starting a public feud. The relationship clearly soured enough though as Beane strongly hinted at Diggs demanding a trade. Eating $31m in cap space sucked but getting a 2nd rounder for him was impressive given that's apparently ALL IT TOOK TO GET METCALF.

Being a top 3 team in scoring. Does it matter how we do it?
Doc Brown replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Correct me if I'm wrong but the disparity between points scored (2nd) and yards gained (10th) on offense has a lot to do with turnover differential. On offense we were tied with the 2019 Saints with the fewest turnovers of all time with only eight. We didn't even turn it over in the three playoff games. Only two fumbles lost is absolutely bonkers especially considering one of them was on a trick play. There's no way the offense is that clean with turnovers again and if they don't regress to the mean it would be shocking. Combine that with a perfectly healthy o-line (minus one game?) is also extremely likely not to happen again. The defense forced 31 turnovers which was third in the league. I'm just going to assume we regress slightly in that area because creating turnovers has always been a strong suit of McDermott's defense. Defense should be the focus of the draft but assuming this offense is going to repeat last year's scoring production if we just run it back while making some minor moves is highly unlikely. If we take a WR that falls in any of our three picks in the first two rounds I'd be fine with it. -
All true but this on again off again trade policy only adds fuel to the fire. Markets hate uncertainty. An on/off tariff policy fuels panic, panic fuels selling, and selling brings lower prices. Can't wait for Trump to use our tax money to "bail out" farmers again who never asked for it to begin with.
-
That explains the tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
Doc Brown replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Will all the seats have cup holders? That's the only thing I really care about. -
If they aren't allowed to raise prices but their costs go up the only option they'd have is to lay off workers. Either that or they ignore him and raise prices anyways. Either outcome is not optimal. Doesn't he realize a lot of the parts used by American car companies to make cars are imported from other countries? It will take years to move manufacturing to the US and even then it will be less efficient and cost more. This will jack up car insurance premiums too. Also, if you're the head of these companies how can you plan long term if there's no guarantee that these Tariffs will be permanent?

NFL makes the "nose swipe" gesture illegal
Doc Brown replied to The Firebaugh Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall
This doesn't exactly impact the game on the field. I'm guessing there's a lot more paper cuts to come though. -
No. It shouldn't. The same Republicans that rightfully accused Biden of executive overreach in forgiving student loans are now silent because of self preservation.
-
Give the Bills a bye week to get as healthy as possible and have an extra week to repair then maybe they'd have better results. No other team has been as negatively impacted by the expansion to seven playoff teams than the Bills.

Used cars will at least go up in value? Wish I never voted for the guy and I can't believe he has this much power when it comes to implementing tariffs.

Just spit out my water reading this. Fantastic. -
That's fair but I think it would take at least two losing seasons (or one abhorrent) for Pegula to ever consider making that move imo. Pegula growing up a Steelers fan where they've had like three head coaches since the fall of the Roman Empire makes me think he'd be extremely hesitant to fire McDermott. Also, he just had Adams hire Ruff and that's not going so well right now.
-
What do you think it would take for Pegula to fire McDermott and not Beane?
