I've said this before but if Trump doesn't back down and do his usual artificial trade agreements with other countries this policy we'll have a lot of short term pain in order to have long term pain.

Trump’s glorious Golden Age of America is here
Doc Brown replied to Homelander's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's literally the only reason I voted for him. -
It wasn't a draft day trade but Beane traded Cordy Glenn to move up from 21st to 12th before the 2018 draft. There were some late round picks involved too (I think we swapped 5th and 6th round picks).

Bills halt contract negotiations with Cook
Doc Brown replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
They just re-signed Ty Johnson . That's my take on it too after Beane's comments. Especially considering they paid Ty Johnson and Allen called him the best 3rd down back in the league. He may have already requested a trade for all we know considering the drafts in a few weeks. Should be interesting. -
Lamar Jackson Wants to Trademark #8
Doc Brown replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a little premature as it'll take three more seasons to get to 8 playoff losses.- 77 replies

Bills halt contract negotiations with Cook
Doc Brown replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's the same agent that screwed a lot of people in fantasy and said Cook would play against the Jets on that MNF game. I wouldn't be surprised if he suggested Cook be active on social media and put his house up for sale. -
I only care about the government screwing me over financially no matter who's in office. That's all I care about. I'd rather the president be Ted Cruz or Rand Paul because they wouldn't be dumb enough to start a tariff war for no flipping reason whatsoever.
-
I'm joking. It was just funny to me with this is why I voted for him. I voted for him too but am pissed off at the moment with his incredibly stupid tariff policy that was all bark and little bit his first term in office. All he had to do was cut regulations, secure the border, extend the TCJA, and get out of the way to let the free market work its magic.

Weird. I had you pegged as a Harris voter.

TSW 1.0 Poll - Who should the Bills select at #56 ? (closes 2pm EDT)
Doc Brown replied to Ralonzo's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with this but what I always have trouble with was Elam and Kincaid the two last first round grades Beane had within striking distance? We'll pry never no. I remember being alarmed when Beane commented about giving up a 5th to move two spots up for Cody Ford in the because their were a run on tackles. So maybe after the run on CB's and WR's in the 1st round Beane could've panicked and picked Elam and Kincaid because we needed a CB and another pass catching option for Allen. On the other hand, he traded back for guys like Coleman and Cook they didn't have 1st (Coleman) or 2nd (Cook) round grades on so maybe he did have Elam/Kincaid as first round grades. I just wish a reporter could give him some truth serum for a press conference one day. -

I love how every year we do this we hate the Bills picks despite this being a Bills message board. LOL. -

What team in their right mind would want Cook who's going to demand $15m/year on a contract extension? Especially with an extremely strong running back class. The GM who makes that move should be fired on the spot. -
If the Patriots had any doubts about Maye or any belief that Milton would become a competent NFL starting QB they wouldn't have dealt him.

I don't think the majority of voters took him seriously with tariffs because he was mostly all bark and no bite in that area in his first term. About a 10% drop in the stock market in a day in a half is not what they voted for. The only way he can attempt to put the toothpaste back in the tube the best he can is to cancel every tariff. Trump will never admit he was wrong so what you'll see is artificial trade agreements with individual countries, highlight any companies that make investments in America (ignoring the one's who lay off workers), and try and shift blame to the federal reserve.

There will be an NFL Triple-header on Christmas (a Thursday)
Doc Brown replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
No. You're right. It's that old saying that hogs get fat and pigs get slaughtered. Even last year tv ratings were down 2.2% compared to 2023. The NFL is still obviously king by a country mile but if they keep pushing the envelope interest in the league will wane. -
Definitely man. These tariffs are absolutely unfortunately necessary to sacrifice a lot of short term pains in order to eventually achieve a more stable long-term pain.

Rasul Douglas Wants to Stay in Buffalo
Doc Brown replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's simpler than your three scenarios. McDermott's going to start the players that he thinks gives them the best chance to win with the personnel he's dealt. His job depends on it. He easily could've started Edwards ahead of Torrence in his rookie year. On the flip side, he easily could've handed the job to Elam his rookie year because he was a first round pick. The evidence just isn't there that McDermott is reluctant to play rookies if he deems them ready. -
Good practice if Cook gets traded.

I'd be shocked if Hampton fell this far in the real draft. I wouldn't be surprised if three RB's go in the first round (Jeanty, Hampton, Henderson) with the way the NFL is trending.

With the 44th pick in the 2025 NFL draft the Dallas Cowboys select... Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina You know what they say. Take care of the skill positions first and then build your o-line. After taking a WR in the first round we were thrilled that Humphrey dropped to us here as he reminds us of a cross between Emmitt Smith and Zeke Elliott. We will probably pay him top of the market value on the day of our season opener in 2028. The Colts @CNYfan are now on the clock.
