I really don't get the Moore hype and that would be disappointing if Coleman wasn't the week 1 starter. His rookie year he was basically tied for the lead in snap count percentage per game started with Hollins among WR's. I'm guessing it will be mostly a three man rotation (Coleman, Palmer, Samuel) for our outside WR spots in 11 and 12 personnel formations.

Purdy and 49’ers extension. 5 years 265 million
Doc Brown replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
You called him a pretty good and mediocre QB in the same post. Which is it? He had the 7th best QBR in the NFL last year despite all the injuries. I know he went 6-9 but the 49ers defense had its worst year of the Shanahan era finishing 29th in points allowed. He doesn't look like a prototypical NFL QB but he's a really decision maker, throws with anticipation, is accurate, and can even make some off script plays. This helps make up for his average arm and smaller stature. I think he's a very good QB (obviously not elite though) and the 49ers won't regret this contract. -
I agree that you'd pry need a three term president with a majority in both houses throughout. However, to your point about China with Trump. You think he'd welcome Apple moving its manufacturing plants out of China to India. Instead he publicly chastises Apple telling them they should build here. He seems to want to have his cake and eat it too.

I think they have a nebulous end goal in mind but don't know how to achieve it without freaking out the markets. Their messaging and execution sucks. Trump just warned Wal Mart not to raise their prices because of the tariffs. That's like someone warning a car insurance company not to raise my rates despite two at fault car accidents in the same year.

Guys. I know. I was imitating Beane lecturing the fan base.
-
Hey. That game got Gabe paid $2.1m per catch playing for the Jaguars.
-
This is like 2018 all over with you guys again. You pry wanted Josh Rosen and Beane took Josh Allen. Now you have the gull to question Beane when it comes to constructing an offense? Again, this isn't fantasy football.

A year ago I guess I get it. I just don't understand it now. We lead the league in points when you include postseason. No one scored more points than us last year though than us, including the Super Bowl champions. We did it last year without Stefon Diggs. How is this group not better than last year's group? The offenses job is to score points. I get that we need something to fight about in the off-season but we need to stop bitchin' about WR's.
-
I think Brady's system is more dependent on having an X physical WR2 who can block and has decent ball skills despite not being the best separator. The problem is we don't have a 2020 Diggs on the other side giving D-coordinators nightmares taking the pressure off Coleman. I just wish somehow there was a guy available this Offseason that we could've hypothetically traded for without having to give up a 1st round pick.
-
I don't know but why are we talking about WR? We scored over 30 points in eight straight games last year. This isn't fantasy football. Talking about WR is one of the dumbest things we should be doing right now.
-
True and I guess at that point in the draft you have to bet on traits. McConkey would've been an even bigger head scratcher at that spot and we would've spent months debating whether he could play on the outside if Beane drafted him. Lol.
-
Which was the prevailing thought at least on this board to my recollection. I remember going into round 2 thinking Adonai Mitchell made the most sense at pick 33 because he was a faster guy who played on the outside who had a chance at developing into a WR1. I was even prepared for Franklin. I definitely didn't expect Coleman given Beane's comments in the past on what he learned about the WR's Josh excelled with. I hope Coleman develops into a true outside weapon but his rookie year was exactly what I expected.

Purdy and 49’ers extension. 5 years 265 million
Doc Brown replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tua's never won a playoff game. Purdy's 4-2 with a 94.3 passer rating in the playoffs. I know he doesn't look like a typical modern franchise QB but he's better than people are giving him credit for imo.. -

I get it but I’ve seen enough off script plays from him where I think he’s a little bit more than just a good system quarterback. I’d take him above Tua, Love, or Lawrence if forced to pick. He has a high floor and can win with him at that salary if you consistently nail the draft. -

FWIW with Purdy. He's an above average starting QB and this contract won't look as bad a couple of years from now imo. -

Like I said. I wouldn't give him that much but the Lance example is why you at least need an above average QB even in Shanahan's offense surrounded by all pros. Baker's $33m (maybe $40 to 45m with inflation) per year contract makes a lot more sense. -
You think Beane added defensive backs focusing on speed because he drafted a WR last year more known for his size and high end ball skills than his route separation due to lack of speed? Including Bishop who was drafted 30 some odd picks later in the same draft? This is going to be a long couple of months.

I think Trump Derangement Syndrome is just an easy label for someone to use in order to nullify the intelligence of a person who has any valid criticism of him without having a retort to their criticism. However, you have Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Purdy and 49’ers extension. 5 years 265 million

I don't think they make the Super Bowl with Fields as the starting QB a year and a half ago. Purdy is a faster processor who can go through his reads quicker avoiding negative plays. Would I have paid him that much? No. A Baker Mayfield contract would've been more appropriate. You could say the same thing about Love, Lawrence, Goff, and Tua. He's better than Fields though. -

They gave up three first round picks for Trey Lance and he couldn't thrive under the Shanahan system. I'd say he's above average but nowhere near elite. I wouldn't have given him that much but he's done more to deserve an extension than Tua, Love, or Lawrence ever did. I read your post as saying you'd rather have Fields at that price then Purdy and Goff. It makes more sense now but Purdy has been far better than Fields. -

If he's paying California taxes on that he might be able to upgrade from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom apartment. -
You've got to be kidding me. I don't even know what you're trying to convey? You think so little of the American Constitution and people that you think we'd let Trump have the power to become someone akin to a Turkish autocrat? Dude couldn't even get money for a wall his first time term. Is the reason his approval rating went down and then back up was because he's becoming less of an autocrat and have nothing to do with his idiotic trace policy.....and I'm the one living in a bubble?

I knew you meant that. Just thought it was funny because my feelings towards Black Friday aren't that fall off from Black Monday. Historically, a Democratic presidency with a majority Republican House and Congress led to the most gains in the stock market. The markets hate uncertainty and they know no major legislation will pass with a divided government. My frustration with the tariffs is the lack of Congressional involvement where they're supposed to have power of the purse. They know it's dumb policy but will be chastised if they criticize him unless you're popular in your state because of your libertarian principles like Rand Paul. I laugh seeing the rest twist themselves into pretzels trying to defend it. My main criticism of Biden was forgiving student loans before the Supreme Court called it executive overreach over Congress. I don't see how the tariffs are any different. You'd think people who criticized Biden would also criticize Trump if they were being intellectually consistent. Of course that would mean the politicians who supported Biden's EO's on the left shouldn't be criticizing Trump right now. That's politicians for you though.

NFL to Have Vote That Would Alter Playoff Seeding

I can see Terry Bradshaw explaining it to us in the studios come week 18 next year. -
I give Trump credit for at least recognizing why his poll numbers went down and fixing the problem. It's not a sign of weakness.
