Holding or doubling the wrs is irrelevant if the kick was performed properly. The would've had less than 8-9 seconds to go 50 yards. Did you not read the OP. There have been 0 tds returned out of 1200 when the ball is popped up. Yea the defense was embarrassing but it should never have come down to 2 plays. Maybe 1 long hail mary to get into fg range. Hill wasn't even back there on the return.

Mic'd up: Kelce outsmarted McDermott/Frazier
LABILLBACKER replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
You mean the same Sean McDermott who has never admitted he's done anything wrong? That guy? Last year we're all screaming during the afccg, for the love of god jam this mother f er at the line. And we didn't. This year does Sean learn from his mistakes, NO. I'm telling you it will never be Sean's character, culture or process that loses you a game. It will be his ineptitude in close game management situations. We saw it in Houston. We saw it last year and it reared it's ugly head last Sunday. Do you see a playoff pattern here? -
Mic'd up: Kelce outsmarted McDermott/Frazier
LABILLBACKER replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
For every mistake Sean learns from, he makes 2 more. At this rate he'll be as good as Andy in 2038. -
If we play in Buffalo (thx Jags) and Tre is playing we win comfortably. I think Levi will test FA. Dane is nice depth like Taron but I'm almost 100% sure we pick CB2 in round 1. Tre probably won't be back until November.

The myth that the Bills roster is better than the Chiefs
LABILLBACKER replied to Hermes's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Mahomes fails again to win a SB and Josh has a MVP season next year (which I know he will), then the narrative will quickly flip over to JA17. What he did last Sunday and the week before against Hoody is already legendary. -
The myth that the Bills roster is better than the Chiefs
LABILLBACKER replied to Hermes's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. Kelce you could argue is the greatest TE of all time. Hill is the fastest WR in the league and impossible to cover. Their RB's and DL are better than ours. And Mahomes like Allen is a witch. And their HOF HC is better than ours. Now when 87 and 10 come off the roster, things will change rapidly for Patrick. -
Sullivan: Bills' McDermott choked away Super Bowl-caliber season
LABILLBACKER replied to QCity's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't find or read one wrong statement by Sullivan. Not a fan of his snarky personality but he is 100% right in this article. -
McDermott end of season press conference
LABILLBACKER replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
We need better pass rushers. We need to apply a more aggressive style of defense then Frazier likes. If Leslie leaves, which I hope he does, sign Fangio immediately. We should've not only jamed both Kelce & Hill on those 2 plays but we should have doubled them both. Force Pringle or Hardman to beat you. Rush 3, drop 8 dbs. And stop trying to seal the sidelines when you know they have 3 timeouts. -
McDermott end of season press conference
LABILLBACKER replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why is everyone obsessed with the squib. That's not the type of kick you use. You kick the high pop up inside the 10 forcing Hardman to at least run it out as far as he can burning 4-5 seconds at the very least. If he Immediately fair catches it on the 10, KC now burns 1-2 seconds and they're pinned way back. No way I risk a squib. -
McDermott end of season press conference
LABILLBACKER replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
His brain didn't execute in those 13 seconds. No one on the planet can question his character and love for this team. Clearly his early process/culture goal has been accomplished. He now only has to find a way to stop being so damn stupid in game management decisions. He's got literally one of the greatest qbs in NFL history. Stop making dumb mistakes. Pride yourself on not being dumb. Or else the mafia will have to go all Nancy Kerrigan on Patrick's knee. -
I get it. Keep him and keep continuity. That's fine, he's an above average HC. But can we once and for all pump the brakes on all the process/culture yada yada. Our chances to win a championship depends 100x more on Josh then anything Sean is going to do. When we needed an intelligent HC with 13 seconds left, we got the same confused game management issues we've seen from him in the past. And a younger Andy Reid would coach circles around McD. I hardly want him run out of town with pitchforks, but if that lightbulb doesn't start going off we will waste Josh just like the Angels have wasted Trout.

If Brady retires, would you want Gronk for one season here?
LABILLBACKER replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Considering it seems like we've had only 1 TE on the roster for the last several years, sure why not. Get Tre to sign off and give Gronk a reasonable 1 yr deal. -
Daboll to Take Dorsey if Named Giants HC?
LABILLBACKER replied to wettlaufer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Daniel Jones will literally be a backup in 2 years. Dorsey would have a top NFL QB for the next several years. He can't be that stupid. -
You pretty much can't butcher 13 seconds more than that. Let Frazier and Farwell walk. We can do better. McD cannot ever have a blunder like this again.

Sullivan: Bills' McDermott choked away Super Bowl-caliber season
LABILLBACKER replied to QCity's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen's career is hardly wasted but a huge opportunity to win a Lombardi this year just went down the toilet thanks to stupid coaching. We have probably 12-15 more cracks at it. The question is will McD stop being an idiot in game day management? -
I'm over 89 and Ronnie Harmon. Josh is 10x better than Jim but with less HOF tier weapons. That's why he tries to do it all. And although we had Bruce, our defenses during the 90's were hardly dominating. Josh will need a better running game. Maybe 1 more speed WR. And especially a defense that can actually get to guys like Mahomes and Herbert. Even the GOAT needed Beli and some dominant D's.

Super quiet night for both Knox & Diggs. They combined for 5 catches/ 16 yards. Terrible

Upon further review...was Bass supposed to pop the kick up?
LABILLBACKER replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well we may never know unless Tyler admits it? -
Alot of guys today on LA sports talk shows agree the current OT has to change. That game last night needed to keep going. Most say just play an additional 10 min OT. You can't decide it on a coin. Something like 10 of the last 11 playoff overtimes have been decided by a TD from the coin winner. I think a new OT format will come because of last night.

Even Nick Wright gave props to Josh Allen.
LABILLBACKER replied to Joe Ferguson's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh so outplayed State Farm last night it wasn't even close. I loved Nick Wright in the movie Die Hard. Josh won that game last night as far as I'm concerned. With your top 2 receivers Diggs & Knox combining for 5 catches, 16 yards. Are you kidding me Nick Wrong. Josh over these last 2 weeks has been Hercules. When Kelce retires in a couple years we'll see just how amazing Patty is. -
Conspiracy Theory 1..Josh Allens Future in Buffalo…
LABILLBACKER replied to thronethinker's topic in The Stadium Wall
No....will Josh try to do a few more commercials, yes. But the marriage of Josh and the community of Western NY is a match made in heaven. Even Rich Eisen said as much today. Besides he's under contract for 8 years. No one is catching Mahomes and his 10 different advertising commitments. -
Upon further review...was Bass supposed to pop the kick up?
LABILLBACKER replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm hearing murmurs that Tyler was supposed to pop it up and hit it too hard. Maybe Bass should step up and take one for the team & Sean by admitting it? If this is true it changes everything. Unfortunately the defensive scheme for those 2 plays still sucked.
