Calais Campbell *update beane said no visit scheduled
LABILLBACKER replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, 37 doesn't bother me. Reggie White played at a high level at 39. Sign him to a 1 yr/ 1M deal. Let him rotate in. Besides it's doubtful Von jumps in week1. Hopefully next year there will be better DT's available in the draft. Ed us likely gone. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
LABILLBACKER replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. I'm drafting a RT early as insurance against this convoluted theory that Spencer's slow feet was due to the injury. Spencer has always had slow feet. -

This would be amazing. He's practically the same age as OBJ yet without all the ACL's. Do we dump Oliver's contract in this deal? Do we save Shakir? -
It was a joke....jokeman

Jamison Crowder Signs with the Giants

Yup, keep snagging them Dabs. -
I honestly didn't know he was ever on the Bills. Wasn't he Jack's grandson....

How do we guarantee no more concussions?
-
There's no way Kromer and this Bills organization can be dumb enough to think Spencer is a starting RT.
-
This would be a dream draft. Trading down for 2 second round picks would be ideal.
-
Agree, the Oliver era is over. Find another big 320# DT to compliment Daquan. If you can get a 3rd/4th and get rid of that 10M, do it in a heartbeat. I don't see any place for Basham on this team. Not big enough to be a DT and zero moves to be a DE.

Draft Prospect Interviews with Bills - Post 'em here

Bijan and Avila as our first 2 picks would be spectacular. -
That happens when you go 6 years without improving the OL while you draft defensive busts.
-
Yup....emotionally, physically and psychologically. We were lucky to survive Miami and their 3rd string qb. Too much drama & injuries. We didn't stand a chance.

Should we trade Ed Oliver?
LABILLBACKER replied to Floridagatorsbuffalobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm sure they're trying hard to trade him right now. His highest trade value is probably a 3rd but more likely a 4th. It's the cap savings that is valuable. Use that money to find a RT and just use (2) 1 tech DT's. Oliver just doesn't generate sacks. -
True....a 3rd round pick is probably the highest we'd get. I think we're kind of screwed and are going to just ride out Ed and Gabe's final "contract" year. Maybe by some act of God they both play out of their minds and we go to a SB. Or they both play like they always have and we wave goodbye in FA. I doubt anyone's giving us a 3rd for either.

Suitable Edmunds Replacements in the draft
LABILLBACKER replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
As the clock ticks the price will go down on both of them. -
Suitable Edmunds Replacements in the draft
LABILLBACKER replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jack would probably be a 2/12 guy and Wagner a 2/14 guy. We'd have to restructure more contracts. I have no faith in Bernard or Dodson filling Tremaine's position. And that leaves drafting Sanders or Campbell in the 2nd round? Those are the remaining options. -
Both Brown and Quessenberry are bad. There's no arguing this. David led 2021 in sacks allowed (11) and the following year as our backup almost destroyed JA. Spencer never improved or showed even small gains with foot quickness. Unless JSN is sitting there at 27, you gotta take the best OT on the board. Yes I know we need an MLB or WR2, but protecting Josh should be top priority. I'm sick and tired of seeing his pocket collapse in 1.8 seconds.
-
Just saw a bizarre stat. In 2021 Quessenberry led the NFL giving up 11 sacks. Yet PFF gave him a 81. How is that possible?
-
I didn't need to see that tape. Just reminds me how terrible he is. If you wanna get Josh hurt, he's your guy. Earth to Dorsey Earth to Dorsey Come in Dorsey

Offensive outlook post Free Agency
LABILLBACKER replied to HaldimandBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hopefully they use Shakir properly on mid level downfield routes. If OL is the first 2 picks I'll be happy but somewhere in there Sean will be looking to draft Campbell. We desperately need a future replacement for Spencer. He can't possibly be the future RT of this team going forward. Is Bates going to be the starting RG? Will Gabe have the obligatory uptick contract year? -
Completely agree. Quessenberry damn near ended Josh's season. I don't like him backing up either side. We better land 2 OL guys in the first 4 rounds or it will be a big middle finger to Josh.
-
I love it....nobody wants him near the field but he's a good backup? Which is it?
-
Alot of heart while Josh is getting his right arm torn off. Not thrilled with this.

Our OL was ranked 28th over-all last season Shaw. Of course you're going to look great (8th) in sacks allowed because your " run for his life" qb left the pocket 10min ago. Saffold & Brown were abysmal. Morse is good but 1 concussion away from retirement. Davis' 51% catch rate was embarrassing. We didn't even bother throwing to Knox the first half of the season. Dorsey looked like a typical rookie OC. I'll give him a pass but this offense is 1 dimensional. JA to 14. They must find that identify where one play sets up another.
