The Bills biggest problem on offense remains unchanged
LABILLBACKER replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
All last season he was our worst OLineman after Saffold. Now for 3 straight weeks he's still our lowest rated lineman. I guess the only advantage is if your going to get flushed out of the pocket, it's better for a right handed qb to roll away from pressure right. Can't see Spencer starting next season. We'll be drafting a RT early. -
Let's not forget Dorsey had no clue what to do with Hines last year. And it looks like the same now with Harty.
-
I agree, Harty has so far been underwhelming. I'd rather give Shakir & Sherfield more targets. Harty will be the return guy for the remainder of the season till Hines returns. Find a way out of his 2nd year.

When Coordinators get hired to be a Head Coach
LABILLBACKER replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't care if some of their HC duties fall off a little. It doesn't seem to effect Reid or McVay during their championship seasons. So far Sean has this D flying around and Von's not even back yet. I'll trust him to call a more aggressive version of Leslie's gameplan and not lose sleep if a couple negligible HCing details get missed. Too bad he didn't make this change in 21. -
Or let Caleb Williams marinate?

Jets are signing Trevor Siemian to their practice squad.

Eventually that defense will get frustrated and under- deliver. They should've kept White. -
With Josh as our qb, I would never want us to even consider running 40-45% of the time. But the way we're distributing the ball to Cook, Murray & Harris so far seems to be a perfect mix. Singletary & Moss we're way too similar in speed & style to allow a change of pace.
-
It also accomplishes not leaving enough time on the clock for your own offense to run multiple plays for hopefully a td. Sean has done this numerous times over his career. Time management will never be one of his strengths. If it was he would've popped up the 13 sec kickoff.

McD much better D coordinator than Frazier

Nobody knows that nor has it ever been confirmed. -
Stats, PFF grades, Thoughts on Offense, and Miami coming up
LABILLBACKER replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
18 plays that resulted in 2 yards or less. The entire first half felt like 2nd & 10. That's gotta get cleaned up or teams like Mia., KC & Cincy will school us. As long as Torrence protects Josh I'm happy. He can learn run blocking techniques down the road. Bernard looks special and hopefully he can continue to make plays alongside Milano. I want to see more Elam & Kincaid on Sunday and less Harty (other than returns). -

Somehow he had a lightning in a bottle wr in Kupp and Von/Aaron playing dominant. Tonight this team looks like trash. -

That was egregious but the league can't possibly allow Cincy to start 0-3....bad for business. -
Elam should just shadow Hill but he may not be activated? I miss the days when we dominated the fish and Josh ran for 90+ yards.

You can't play soft zone against Chase... -
Hypothetically… Brian Daboll gets the boot….
LABILLBACKER replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dorsey's questionable decision making forces the offense to work harder than it should. The little motion he does call just doesn't create mismatches. The gadget sweeps to Harty have been worthless. And our personnel does not excel at YAC, so why so many throws behind the LOS. Daboll wasn't perfect but he was more creative than KD. -
His cover skills and instincts absolutely blew me away yesterday. Forget about all his flying around, but he was always in the right position to make a play. His speed was also refreshing. Little or no hesitation like Edmunds. Huge find here McB. And I think Dorian will be a great backup to Milano & Bernard. Our LB room looks very good right now.

McDaniel has 2 of the fastest and talented wrs in the NFL. Mostert & Achane are a problem. Until someone brings them back to earth (Bills) they are #1. The Eagles, Chiefs, Bills and 49ers round out my top 5. Lawrence & Herbert just don't have the "it" factor. Jets w/o Rodgers will eventually panic and pu Cousins to no avail. Bills defense is flat out fun to watch. Kudos to Sean for finally taking over. Hopefully bad weather and injuries stay away from us this season.

There will be times in the near future to strike deep or thread the needle. But now it's absolutely critical that Josh continues the course with this shorter passing attack. I'd rather have 3 points then no points at all on a "forced into double coverage" pass. I still have serious concerns with Dorsey, but I'm willing to ride him out this season and hope he mixes in more clever plays.

How many points will the Fish score this week?
LABILLBACKER replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
We need to duplicate the Raider game offense and Commander game defense. Win TOP and keep their offense off the field like Belichick did to us in 1990. Josh will be amped so calm his a ss down and force him to stick to the gameplan. I never thought I'd ask a JA led team to slow it down but this Miami offense is unbelievable. Bills 31 McNerd 27 -
Or maybe Payton is going after Caleb Williams?

Terrel Bernard's future looks very bright. Talking about Edmunds gives me a headache.
