How would you construct the 2024 Bills WR Room?
LABILLBACKER replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
Boyd would also be an appropriate signing and one I would welcome. Not to mention the fanbase would probably embrace him for a year thanks to him helping us out of the drought. -

I don't know why you're spooked over Thomas Jr or Mitchell. I think they're both going to be solid receivers. Guys like Worthy, Franklin & Coleman are the ones that worry me. Trading up in the 2nd round for Legette or McConkey would be amazing. Then sign M. Thomas to a cheap 1 yr deal. I think BB Gospel 2014 has a solid scenario. -
Beane has had his hiccups but for the most part he's been a very good GM. He'll make the appropriate moves later this month to land us 2 quality wrs. And I'm sure Dawson & Von will be June 1st casualties next year. Remember there will be several quality wrs hitting fa and resetting the market next March.

Media coverage of Diggs trade before and after
LABILLBACKER replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's because the media need a new yet not necessarily truthful narrative that promotes Stroud. I think deep down they know in their hearts Stef could underperform or even "demand" targets but they're too afraid to admit it. Jones on "Speak" had the conviction yesterday to say this trade doesn't necessarily make Houston better and he thought the Bills made the right move. -
New Buscaglia mock has Bills trading up to 7 for Malik Nabers
LABILLBACKER replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would be a very aggressive move and it has it's merit but personally I'd rather hope Mitchell or Legette fall to 28 and trade up in the 2nd for another wr. That's just way too much draft capital for me to risk. -
Marvin Harrison Jr wants to be a Bill

I thought for sure I saw him in Rashee's car. -

I think the odds of us trading up after the Diggs trade has risen. I too would prefer a less costly trade up for Odunze (10-12) or Brian Thomas (20-24). Going after MHJ or Nabers will be just to expensive. I like the idea of Michael Thomas for a year. And then Burton in the 4th? -
McDermott needed to grow a pair over a year ago and nip this Diggs tantrum completely. Coaches like Belichick or Parcells wouldn't tolerate this crap. At least they did the right thing yesterday by trading him now and at least getting a 2nd. They be no cap impact next year. And if Houston thinks his diva personality won't rise up a 3rd time, they're dreaming.
-
So who do you want and why?
-
Dude if Brian Thomas makes it anywhere in the early 20's we're getting him. Guarantee it!
-
Yup draft 2 wrs early. Hope you hit on one to supplement Samuel, Shakir & Kincaid. Then use all that extra cap money in 2025 to sign a younger fa wr.
-
I could live with McConkey and Legette, but deep down I'm still hoping Thomas falls to the late teens so we can make a move.
-
Game day coaching will always hold this team back.
-
I'm sure Josh to some degree is relieved. He's probably tired of the drama outbursts, diva attitude and having to feed Stef at the expense of not throwing to other players. Yes Diggs will go down as a great Bills receiver. But ripping off the bandaid and freeing up cap for next year makes perfect sense. Now let's really do something bold and draft wrs in the first 2 picks.
-
Yup, the bottom line is his impact for the team basically disappeared after week 9. His last 10 games saw 1 td and his 2 playoff games were irrelevant. Stef's impact to Josh's development is undeniable. But these last 2 seasons saw way too many unnecessary distractions that justified today's decision.
-
As long as Josh breathes, the window is open. So by my calculations we have 10-12 more 1 year windows. Is McDermott a great game day coach?....No, but Pegs is in love with him so any upcoming change is highly unlikely. The key to staying relevant will be this April's draft and minimizing injuries.
-
Stop kicking the can down the road. Do your homework better on guys like Knox, Von etc. Start drafting more offensive players on 4-5 year cheap contracts.
-
Yup, he won't be a cap problem next season also allowing us to June 1st 2025 both Von & Dawson. We will have money available to spend on more wrs if necessary.

[POLL] Should The Bills Trade Up For A WR?
LABILLBACKER replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would trade up to 10 for Odunze or 15 for Thomas. MHJ or Nabers would cost too much. -
Completely agree. The time was now. 3 straight years of playoff disappearances. Turns 31 in November and all the diva drama. Getting someone to give us a 2nd is gold. We'll survive and it wouldn't surprise me to see Beane trade up for Odunze or Thomas.
-
I would've preferred a 2nd this year but considering his age, cap hit and production drop off, this was good value trade.
-
Stef's playoff performance in the last 3 years is terrible. 0 tds and catch% of 58%. If we can somehow come away with 2 quality wrs in this draft we'll be just fine. I was personally tired of the diva drama and constant inuendos. Time to get young "wr wise" while JA17 is still young. Thanks for trying Diggsy.
-
He's a great architect, just a lousy building manager.
-
Wouldn't shock me...
-
I too like Thomas, Mitchell, Legette & McConkey in that order. Guys like Coleman, Franklin & Worthy concern me? Maybe a Dez Walker, Pearsall or Burton later??
