  1. Even in a post in which you are attempting to clarify that you weren't insulting me, you felt that need to mention that I might be irretrievably stupid. Cool. Let me know if you want to talk about football. I have no interesting in carrying on a conversation based on personal attacks.
  2. Ah, DC Tom. I know I can always count on you to make personal attacks in posts that don't warrant them. Also, it's 2018, maybe you could come up with some form of criticism other than calling things "retarded"? I guess I was operating under the mistaken impression that this is a message board built for discussion of topics. I missed the part where anyone who disagrees with you automatically has "retarded" opinions and is illogical. For your original post with the list of names to have any merit, we'd have to compare the success rate (30%, as you stated) with the collective success rate of all QBs taken OUTSIDE the top 10 picks in the past four decades. Want to guess which list has a higher rate of success overall? But forgive me, there I go again, DARING to have opinions that differ from yours, for which I must clearly be illogical and "retarded". Some real mature, high quality rebuttal on your part, as usual.
  3. Yes, there are a lot of misses on the list. There are also a lot of hits and a few Hall of Famers. You miss all of the shots you don't take. Yes, the Bills could wind up with an Akili Smith or Jamarcus Russell. They could also end up with a John Elway or Peyton Manning. You've got to fire your gun at some point and hope for the best. Lord knows we've got enough bullets this year.
  4. Darnold- Face of Franchise Rosen- Solid Starter Allen- Bust Mayfield- Hall of Fame Pace Jackson- Face of Franchise Rudolph - Backup
  5. Baker's my top choice. I believe he'll be the best QB from this draft. I hope the Bills take him but am not feeling too optimistic about it.
  6. Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, and Tom Brady are three of the least athletic, most "statuesque" passers I can ever remember.
  7. I sincerely doubt that the Colts didn't give Beane a chance to beat the Jets' offer. If the Jets beat the Bills to the 3 spot, it's because Beane chose not to agree to whatever it was going to take to beat the Jets' offer.
  8. Yes. Kyle Williams being rewarded for years of hard work, his reaction...pretty much that whole day/night....all the reaction videos, the universal jubilation of Bills fans...the fact that we no longer see the name "Buffalo Bills" listed in the "longest playoff drought" graphic. In every way, shape, and form...it was worth it.
  9. McDermott needs very specific things from his cornerbacks. Ideally, they should be long, strong, have a big wingspan, good "zone eyes", and be willing tacklers. Whether you agree or disagree, McDermott and co seem to have concluded that Darby didn't fit the mold, so they moved on and got what they could in return. Me personally? I'm fine with the trade. Getting a 3rd back for a guy of Darby's caliber -- when players like JPP and Marcus Peters and Robert Quinn got traded for less -- seems like great value.
  10. Accomplishing in their first season (playoff berth) what the previous 17 years worth of coaches and GMs couldn't wasn't enough for you, eh? How about completely clearing out a bloated salary cap situation such that the Bills are now flush with draft picks and have $100million in cap space for 2019. Still not doing it? Just out of curiosity...what WILL convince you?
  11. You're totally right, actually. What I SHOULD have said is that he's not the cookie cutter prototype for a successful DT. It's why he lasted until the 5th round. Strange build, short arms, etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Kyle at all. As I said, he's my favorite Buffalo Bill of all time. Him running in a touchdown in the Dolphins game actually caused me to get choked up for a minute. Told everyone I was having allergy issues.
  12. a BAD defensive lineman? REALLY?! I suppose you watched him play a bunch before you came to this conclusion? Also...I hate to tell you this, but if you honestly thought the Bills could fill all of the roster holes you mentioned in one free agency period, then you're being unrealistic. Let's see what the draft and UDFA period bring. By the way, They're spending about HALF on Star what they were spending on Dareus, and they have an extra 5th round pick and a player with a better attitude to show for it.
  13. I don't care if he ever says one worthwhile word again, so long as he keeps occupying double team and pushing the pocket.
  14. Personally, I don't think they gave him $7million/year to be a backup, but we shall see.
  15. A fireable offense?! For slightly overpaying a defensive tackle on a team that has $100 million in cap space in 2019? Well...I'm sure you not overreacting in the least. Nope. The people agains this deal -- when a double-team occupying DT is crucial to the success of McDermott's defense and the Bills had NO ONE that could do that, and when the salary cap goes up every single year, and when the Bills have $100 million in cap space in 2019 -- is cracking me up. You've gotta spend the money SOMEWHERE. Good golly miss Molly, Bills fans are hard to please sometimes.
  16. I'm really excited to watch this guy suit up for the Bills. He's undoubtedly gonna be a big fan favorite in Buffalo. I also happen to think his best years are ahead of him and he might become our most productive pass rusher next season -- especially with Star Lotulelei eating up double teams!
  17. So after a busy couple of seeks at One Bills Drive, the Buffalo Bills have some new players on their roster. While I'm certain more will be added in the coming days, which signing so far has been your favorite, and why? Vontae Davis? Chris Ivory? Star Lotulelei? Trent Murphy? AJ McCarron? I'll start. It's hard to vote against a potential #1 caliber corner, a 348lb behemoth, or a young and hungry quarterback on an arguably below market deal. But for my money? My favorite signing thus far has been Trent Murphy. My favorite Buffalo Bill of all time is Kyle Williams. Why? Well...to me, he embodies everything good about the city of Buffalo and the sport of football. He is less athletically gifted than most NFL players, but due to non-stop hard work, tenacity, and perseverance, he has been a consistently dominant force on the football field. He doesn't care about stats or glory, he just goes to work doing one of the hardest and most thankless job in the NFL, gutting it out in the trenches year after year for a team that, for most of his career, hasn't won many games. He never complains, he never quits, he just outworks everyone and leads by example. Trent Murphy seems a whole lot like another Kyle Williams to me. Every report I've read seems to indicate he's smart as a whip, tough as hell, a vocal leader, and relentless worker. A warrior on the field who -- the last time he played a full season -- had 9 sacks despite playing only 60% of defensive snaps. A guy whose arrow is pointing up and whose best football is ahead of him. A match made in heaven for the city of Buffalo. From . http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2018/03/why_trent_murphy_thinks_hes_an_ideal_fit_for_sean_mcdermotts_buffalo_bills.html Murphy, who is training in Columbus, Ohio at Westside Barbell, could have taken the first flight from Columbus to Buffalo on Thursday morning. But he couldn't wait to get to his new home. So he jumped in a rented pickup truck and made the five-hour drive to Western New York, arriving at 1:30 a.m. "Drove through the snow and that's about all I could see," Murphy said. "I'm pumped." "Yeah, I mean what I think coach is looking for here as far as blue-collar guys, a scheme, guys that are passionate and trying to build a culture, kind of just that tough, blue-collar mentality, winning, playing together, just competing," Murphy said. "Just was talking to the strength coach about the offseason plans about how it's a little bit more- almost like college again; we're competing and we're getting better, but we're splitting up into teams and everything's a competition. We're just stirring up that culture and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of it." Murphy grew up the middle of seven children on a farm in Arizona. In his bio, it says he used to wrestle a 400-pound steer calf "for fun." Can't wait to see this guy on the field in Buffalo Bills red, white, and blue. So who's your favorite signing so far?
  18. Yeah...the way they brought the Bills to their first playoff game in 17 seasons in their first year on the job REALLY indicates that we're headed for 2-14!
  19. Just wanted to pop in to say that any comparisons to Chris Kelsay are silly. Not just in this thread, but in others I have seen this comparison. Why? Because he's white? Is that like how Lamar Jackson and Tyrod Taylor are identical quarterbacks? Get real. Murphy and Kelsay are nothing alike. One more thing: The 4-man line on 3rd downs looks niiiiice. Hughes and Murphy at DE, Lawson kicks into DT alongside Kyle. Big improvement from last season.
  20. Give me back Preston Brown and EJ Gaines. Both tested their market and discovered that it was lukewarm. Now it's time for them to Trust the Process and come on back to Buffalo!
  21. Reports are that both Trent Murphy and AJ McCarron had offers from the New England Patriots, but signed with the Bills instead. Now you can say what you want about opportunity for snaps, better money perhaps being offered by Buffalo, etc. But even still, I'll say it again: A quality pass rusher and a quarterback both chose the Bills over the Patriots today. A pretty nice change. Combined with Vontae Davis and Chris Ivory both also choosing Buffalo after visiting with other teams, I feel good about our current front office's ability to sell the vision to players. These are not your same old Buffalo Bills. Side note: I predict Trent Murphy will be a pretty instant fan favorite. Massive guy, non-stop motor, vocal leader, smart as a whip (went to Stanford)...he'll fit right in. His scouting reports said he'd need a few years to acclimate to the pro game. Well, based on his most recent full season (9 sacks while playing 60% of the defensive snaps), Bills are about to be the beneficiaries of Murphy coming into his own!
  22. LOL @ people legitimately being upset about the contract of a ST linebacker who gets $550,000 guaranteed! Also, Ramon Humber and Lorenzo Alexander are two recent "journeyman special teams guys" who managed to do alright in Buffalo. Let's see how things go.
  23. His info sheet from BuffaloBills.com says he used to like to wrestle cattle for fun. So...now we know how he came to be on Sean McDermott's radar!
  24. Wow. AWESOME signing! Coming off ACL surgery, but he managed 9 sacks the year prior. Only entering his 4th year in the league. The arrow is pointing up BIG TIME with him! I didn't expect it to happen, but with the signings of Lotulelei, Williams, and Murphy, the defensive line has improved drastically. What makes this signing even better is that edge rusher is very shallow in this year's draft. OL, LBs, WR now up on the docket!
