  1. Also...are the "Waaaahhh, we didn't get a WR!" people at all appeased by the two stellar UDFA adds the Bills made? Easley and Sills are legit.
  2. For anyone saying we don't have any "star" WRs, only average guys: I'm not sure there was a star WR AVAILABLE in this draft. Certainly the fact that only one went in the 1st round is telling. Hollywood Brown maybe has star potential, but he would have been a redundant addition given that we already have Foster and Smokey Brown.
  3. Wow. Really strong UDFA signing so far in Jackson, Sills, and Easley. Love it. History tells us at least one of our UDFAs will make the roster.
  4. I love both of the guys we got so far. Hell, I love UDFA signing frenzy. It's like a second draft. And history has shown that some of these UDFAs have as good or better a chance to stick on the final roster as the 6th/7th round guys.
  5. If we are able to season Tyree Jackson on the practice squad for a season or two, he could absolutely be a long term backup option for Allen. Why? He's one of the rare people on planet earth that has the near the same level of arm talent and athleticism as Allen, and thus, you wouldn't have to change the playbook once he came into the game. Here's hoping this is an awesome camp story and he sticks around. What a great thing it would be to have him to back up Allen.
  6. I'm fine with it. The way the draft played out, the value was never right. No sense in drafting one just to draft one. Next year's WR draft class is stellar. We'll get a few then. We'll be fine in the meantime with Foster/Brown/Beasley/Jones/Williams/McKenzie/Roberts
  7. I mean...in terms of actual drafting average, I think if you get THREE solid starters, you've done well. Very few draft classes, over time, produce 5 solid starters.
  8. I'm just waiting for someone to come along and say the Bills messed the pick up because they didn't take Anthony Johnson, then claim to know a bunch about this Darryl Johnson kid and how he stinks. Any time now...
  9. Meh. I'd say reaching for WRs in a draft where there weren't any great ones just because it's a "need" would be more of a Bills-y move. Drafting linemen because thats the strength of the draft and its what the value dictated and waiting until next year when there will be better WRs available makes sense to me. Another thing that makes sense to me? Having Foster and Brown on the outside, which is a "pick your poison" speed double threat that not many teams will have an easy time handling. Then, in the open space underneath, you have slot machine Cole Beasley and matchup nightmare Duke Williams (what nickel defender can match up with this monster?). And don't forget what should be a much improved running game and the danger that Josh Allen's legs present, as well. Basically what I'm saying is that defenses are darned if they do, darned if they don't. If they bring a safety down into the box, Brown or Foster will light 'em up deep. If they don't, Shady and Gore and Motor will run wild. Drafting a mediocre wide receiver wasn't going to make a material difference. Time will tell the tale.
  10. Bills seem to follow the old draft adage: Day 1 is for immediate starters. Day 2 is for year 2 starters/contributors. Day 3 is for taking swings on athletic upside. Smart drafting.
  11. So you're saying Josh Allen is gonna make Joseph his b i t c h?! :P
  12. Matt Miller just said he had him as a top 100 player.
  13. Don't sleep on Joseph. The last 5th round undersized linebacker we took worked out pretty darn well.
  14. Bills about to get their next Matt Milano. Vosean Joseph? Let's see.
  15. Logan Thomas came into the NFL as a QB. His very first year as a TE was on our roster, in the NFL. Knox has already been a tight end for two years in college. Not apples to apples.
  16. I just hope people aren't still stuck on a WR when the next Bills pick comes up. I get that people want to add to that position, and maybe the Bills will, but the odds of a 5th rounder beating out Foster, Brown, Beasley, Jones, McKenzie, Williams, and Roberts for a roster spot seems low.
  17. They changed that rule. This is the first year that you CAN trade comp picks. Amen.
  18. Again, I meant 2020. McCoy and Gore's contracts are up after this season. Singletary has the goods to start once they leave. Knox is raw, but will quickly prove to be the most physically talented tight end on the roster.
  19. Fair enough. Our offensive coordinator is a former tight ends coach for New England, and our current tight ends coach Rob Boras is a good one. I happen to think we WILL develop Knox into a quality TE, and sooner rather than later. Their development of undrafted WR Jason Croom into a contributing TE adds to my belief that they will have success with Knox. I respect your opinion, though, and time will tell the tale.
  20. Not in 2019, no. In 2020? I think that's absolutely on the table.
  21. Sometimes you have to respect the value of what's on the board. By the time the Bills were on the clock in the 3rd round, a tremendous run on WRs had happened, and the value was no longer there. I, for one, am glad they remained true to the value on their board, picked BPA, and would up with four players in the top 100. I also think that Knox and Singletary will be starting for the Bills offense next season (2020). Time will tell.
