  1. I think it was more so the "I was just waiting for Bernard to get hurt and Kirksey to take over" wording that I objected to. Also, Kwon Alexander is 227. Fred Warner is 230. Lavonte David is 233. Matt Milano is 225. Bernard is a bit slight, yes, but he's not tiny. His size compares reasonably well to some top flight linebackers around the league who have managed to have good to great careers.
  2. Respectfully...it's hard to overstate what an awful post this is.
  3. As for my own prediction: The Bills will win the game, but it won't be the easy, runaway, blowout victory that some are hoping for to ease everyone's pain. I predict that Maxx Crosby is going to so badly eat Spencer Brown's lunch that it's going to lead to some stalled drives, sacks, and a boneheaded Josh Allen decision or two. Overall, as has happened a fair amount since the middle of last season, the win will look labored and difficult for the Bills. I won't believe this team is still capable of regularly blowing inferior opponents out until I start seeing it again.
  4. I haven't read the 10 pages of this thread because I don't hate myself, but... Has anyone mentioned the four turnovers that Dorsey committed? That was BY FAR his most egregious contribution to the loss on Monday. Until Ken Dorsey stops throwing into double coverage, we're screwed.
  5. This oughta fix what ails us.
  6. Your thread title is rather vague, and the post itself surely could have been put into one of the many already-existing discussion threads about Monday's game. Aside from that, great job.
  7. I bet he has a hose like a baby's arm.
  8. This thread was a riot. Thank you to all who participated. I think my award for Best in Show goes to the guy who said the reason Josh played poorly is that he "cares more about pu$$y than winning". Top notch stuff.
  9. This. These are the growing pains of a second year middle linebacker making his first NFL start after missing all of preseason. This may seem like pouring salt into already gaping wounds, but...I have a feeling that if Aaron Rodgers had been healthy all game, the Bills defense might have had a loooong night.
  10. I agree. I definitely wonder if Dorsey is the right guy for the job. That said, the problem is that I don't see an easy way out of this one in the short term. Short of firing Dorsey and promoting an underling like Joe Brady, I don't see how they could make any meaningful change this season that wouldn't completely disrupt the offense and make things even worse. Furthermore, Josh likes Dorsey and personally advocated for his being hired as OC. Dorsey also presided over a top five scoring offense last season, so any kind of dismissal of his services this early would likely not be met kindly. That means riding with Dorsey for this season, at least, and seeing if things improve. One very bad Josh Allen game, on the road against an elite defense, in week one of the season (see: Chiefs, Bengals, Giants) is not enough for me to close the book on Dorsey yet. But yes...absolutely starting to wonder about his abilities as a COACH, more so than as a play designer/caller.
  11. I agree with @Success. It's hard to make judgements on the play calls or play design after last night's game. The main reason for me is that when I go back and re-watch negative plays -- interceptions, sacks, throwaways -- I often see open receivers. It's hard for me to fault the OC too much when players are open (often short, yes) and Josh is refusing to throw it to them. If the plays Dorsey is calling have open receivers and Josh just isn't hitting them, it's hard for me to call it a Dorsey problem. What I AM beginning to question is Dorsey's ability to coach Josh Allen the way he needs to be coached. As buddy-buddy as Josh was with Daboll, Josh would be the first to tell you that Daboll didn't hesitate to chew him out when he was being dumb. I think Daboll had a great feel for reigning in Bad Josh and harnessing Good Josh. Dorsey doesn't seem to have that feel. I'm starting to feel like Daboll was a very big reason that Josh had an all-world stretch of play in 2020 and 2021, and that Dorsey's lack of understanding of how to harness Josh's abilities and limit his negative tendencies in the same way are going to continue to mean that we see less Elite Josh and more Roller Coaster Josh, and that he's going to regress back to being the player the haters always told us he was. THAT'S my concern. Less the play design and play calls, and more the actual COACHING of Josh Allen.
  12. I'm just glad Bills fans are finally starting to actually hold Josh accountable for the offensive struggles sometimes. Too often last year, I saw every single thing that went wrong blamed on Ken Dorsey. Don't get me wrong, I had problems with the playcalling and play designs at times, too. I'm certainly no Dorsey apologist. But time and again, I'd go back and look at the All-22 and see open guys that Josh just wasn't finding or getting the ball to. If you go back and watch the first two interceptions last night, for instance, you will see an open receiver underneath for a short gain on both. When guys are open and Josh is refusing to throw it to them, instead opting to force the ball downfield into tight coverage again and again with complete disregard for the situational context of the moment, it's a Josh problem, not a Dorsey problem. My biggest problem with Josh Allen right now is his lack of situational awareness. Knowing WHEN he needs to take the risks and push the ball downfield and when he needs to play it safe, take a sack or a checkdown, and live to fight another down. Had he simply shown situational awareness last night and played within himself, the Bills would have won the game.
  13. I mean...the people he's referring to were BORN here, as were -- most likely -- their parents and grandparents and great grandparents. But sure.
  14. To be fair... Not being racist toward people of Asian descent does not mean that he can't be racist toward black people.
  15. The thing no Bills fan really wants to admit is this: Terry Pegula is probably one Josh Allen/Sean McDermott combo platter away from presiding over a coaching carousel and being despised by the fanbase. For whatever acumen he may offer in the business world, he does not seem particularly adept at operating sports franchises, nor does he seem particularly emotionally intelligent with regard to social interaction or relating to players. Yes, he has opened up his wallet, allowed the Bills to build a world class training facility and spend to the limit on coaching hires and team building, and the Bills have a new stadium deal in place. However, when it comes to the teams themselves under his ownership...everyone knows the Sabres have been an absolute tire fire. And the Bills? The Pegulas started out their tenure of ownership by hiring Rex Ryan and retaining Russ Brandon. They're lucky the McDermott hire worked out so well and that Beane followed, and that Josh Allen was drafted. Does anyone want to imagine what the Bills would look like if, hypothetically, Beane and McDermott were fired and it was up to Pegula to start from scratch? Does anything about the job he's done with the Sabres instill any kind of confidence that this process would go well? Add these latest comments -- if true -- to the pile. Pegula is lucky he has Beane/McDermott/Allen, and I hate to think of what the Bills might look like if he didn't.
  16. Ya know what would definitely help you feel a little bit more benevolent toward me and all your other fellow brothers and sisters? Some acid.
  17. If anyone needs a way to pass the next 8 hours without thinking too much about the Bills game to come, may I suggest a hit or two of acid?
  18. I feel like people seem offended that I said he's not gonna be Travis Kelce. Zach Ertz is/was still a HELL of an NFL tight end. I conceded that I think he'll be very good or great, and that I'm excited to see him play. I just don't see him as the physical presence/alien freak show that Gronk and Kelce are/were. I could very well be wrong in my prediction, but saying "I don't think he'll be Kelce" -- a guy who may go down as the GOAT TE -- isn't meant to be disparaging. Players can win in lots of different ways. Kincaid being a smooth, brainy technician instead of a physical freak doesn't mean he can't still be highly effective.
  19. Physical presence, I guess. Travis Kelce is 6'5", 256 lbs and ran a 4.61 40. Dalton Kincaid is 6'4", 240 lbs and ran a 4.71 40. I think that what makes Kincaid special is his brain and, as you said, his spatial awareness. I see him making a living making 8 yard catches in 3rd and 7, the way Ertz has for years. I DON'T see him regularly making huge downfield catches, being a RAC monster, or generally being the physical freak that it seems like Kelce/Gronk are/were. This is only my opinion. I think he'll be a very good player, but I see him more as a technician and security blanket than as a gamebreaking big play threat.
  20. I'm really excited about Kincaid, but I don't see him ever being a Travis Kelce/Rob Gronkowski type, or a Tony Gonzalez/Antonio Gates type. Not a surefire Hall of Fame level player. To me, he's more of a Zach Ertz. Now, that's nothing to sneeze at. Ertz has had a nine year career that's still going strong. He has posted 7200 yards 45 TDs -- including a five-year run of posting at least 800 yards every season -- and made 3 Pro Bowls. If Kincaid has an Ertz level career, he'll help Buffalo win a lot of games and maybe go down as the greatest Bills tight end ever. In any case...I also expect Kincaid's arrival to push Dawson Knox, and for him to have a really good year, as well. I can't wait to see the first installment of the DK2 offense this Monday night.
  21. Chiefs win going away.
  22. Benford is looking like the Kyle Williams to Kaiir Elam's John McCargo. It stinks to miss on a first round pick -- and make no mistake, failing to seize the CB2 job in his second season and being passed on the depth chart by a 7th rounder and a 6th rounder indicates that the Bills missed on the Elam pick -- but hitting on a late round guy at the same position takes the sting out a little bit. Now lets hope that Benford goes on to have as good a career for the Bills as Kyle Williams did! For what it's worth, I've really liked what I've seen from Benford every time he's healthy and on the field. You can sort of FEEL his presence out there. He's a physical, intense, hard hitting guy, and he seems to be one of those "always where he's supposed to be, natural zone instincts, sound tackler" types that this coaching staff loves. I think he's a better, stronger version of Levi Wallace. Excited for the youngsters to show what they've got. Go Bills!
  23. I happen to think that Greg Rousseau is going to be a star, and a perennial top 10 edge rusher, regularly posting double digit sacks. He was on his way to a breakout season last year before the high ankle sprain. Still just 23 years old. This will only be his fifth year of playing defensive end EVER! One year in high school, one year in college, two in the pros. He's been learning the position and filling out his frame. It's Greg Rousseau breakout season.
  24. I didn't get any further than "Dolphins 15-2". Amazing.
