Kelce and Hill are elite talents. Nobody disputes this. Beyond them? The Chiefs WR roster has been a bunch of nobodies and dime-a-dozens for years. Mecole Hardman, Marquez Valdes Scantling, Demarcus Robinson, Justin Watson, Byron Pringle, the ghosts of Josh Gordon and Sammy Watkins... Like...none of those guys are scaring anybody. Journeymen and replacement level players, all.

Day Off at Training Camp Today Tuesday 8 August, per Sal

Literally haven't read one thing about him this whole Summer. This year, it seems to be Shane Rey and AJ Epenesa getting most of the D-line plaudits. -
What team has the best NFL message board in the world?
Logic replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have been to several other teams' forums. No other forum can match the mix of constant/consistent activity, quality posters, quality posts and quality moderation that this forum offers. Any other forum that I've seen that has as many quality posters, posts, and moderation, lacks the activity level. Sometimes whole days go by between new posts or replies. Likewise, any other forum I've seen that matches that activity level of this place, fails in at least one of the other three -- and sometimes all three -- categories. The oft mentioned Chiefsplanet is a good example. Very active, but HORRIBLE posts, posters, and non-existent moderation. I will also echo the sentiment that it's an awful, toxic cesspool in general, and should be avoided at all costs. All factors considered, and having poked around many corners of the NFL message board world, I believe I can truly and honestly say, with no hint of exaggeration or hyperbole, that this is the best NFL team message board in existence. -
Josh Allen goes #1 overall to the Browns in a 2018 Redraft

You're right. You accurately listed the two primary pockmarks on an otherwise mostly sterling upbringing of Josh Allen. You're not wrong. I'd say those missteps represented the exceptions rather than the rule. -

I will say that he's lucky he landed under Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott, too. Everything about the Bills' situation and they way they nurtured Allen, supported him, and gave him time and trust, was perfect. From Beane building a decent (not great, but decent -- good enough to allow him to improve and to function) offensive line, to bringing in improvements at WR (Beasley was huge in his development, Diggs obviously was too), to McDermott giving him time on the job and sticking with him and not pulling him in and out of the lineup, to Daboll building the offense around him, to there being stability at GM, HC, and OC throughout his first few years on the job. In terms of doing just about everything that could be done to help him "become the best version of himself", you couldn't do much better than this Bills organization did. They really ran a master class on how to bring along a young quarterback. One need only look at how badly and how frequently so many of the other teams around the league fail at this to see how well the Bills did, and how uncommon this organizational stability and support is for a young QB. -
Josh Allen goes #1 overall to the Browns in a 2018 Redraft

I vividly remember that the rumor leading into draft day was that the Browns DID plan to take Josh Allen at 1st overall. Everyone made fun of it and said "Browns are gonna Browns", and their fans were apoplectic. The rumor is that the personnel department all liked Allen best, but John Dorsey, the GM at the time, preferred Mayfield, and picked him instead. Crazy what a crossroads moment drafts can turn out to be for NFL franchises. -
I don't think spending a late 3rd round pick in a shallow draft on a player with the intent to have him be a high quality backup WLB -- Milano has certainly missed time here and there throughout his career -- and special teams cog is all that strange. During the drought years, we often counted on 3rd round picks to play immediately and to be core starters by year two. When a team is as good as the Bills have become, I don't think that's always going to happen. As far as I'm concerned, if Dorian Williams turns out to be a quality WLB that can keep the Bills defense humming if Milano misses plays or games with injury, I'll consider it a fine draft pick.

Fair. The only thing I'd point out is that, based on camp reports, Allen has actually handed the ball off to Knox a time or two from this "two TE backfield" formation. Maybe that's the counter if the defense does goes dime formation. You don't want to be handing it off to your TE too often, of course, but maybe it's something they'd employ occasionally to keep defenses honest.

This is training camp. Some days the offense looks really good and we worry about the defense. Other days the defense looks really good and we worry about the offense. When things start to become a trend -- like if we start hearing that the offensive line struggles multiple days in a row or the corners can't cover anyone -- THEN it can become a concern.

It has nothing to do with confusing the defense. I believe the pete was saying that it would put stress on the defense and create advantageous matchups for the offense. Typically, a player lined up in the backfield will be covered by a linebacker. Having both Kincaid and Knox covered by linebackers seems like an advantage for the Bills offense. Then add in, say, Stefon Diggs in the slot, and you're looking at a host of possible mismatches that Allen can exploit in the passing game.

Innnnnteresting. Verrrrry interesting.

Remember when Troy Vincent "accidentally" took out JP Losman's leg? Good times.

HOW DARE YOU?! This detailed and well-reasoned refutation of the unfounded fears mentioned above WILL not stand!

Training Camp opens today! 2023 Season is upon us!
Logic replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can't help but wonder if Taylor Rapp and Taron Johnson will be on the field a lot more often than a second linebacker. Essentially, a three-safety dime package, with Milano as the only true linebacker on the field. Rapp and Johnson are both sound tacklers for defensive backs. Sure, this look would be vulnerable against the run, but should theoretically be very tough to pass against. -
It's hard NOT to be interested in what Josh Allen has going on downstairs.

Brutal. I'm sorry to hear it for Hines' sake and for the Bills sake. Have to think this is probably the end of the line for his time in Buffalo. He'll be 27 years old next year, coming off an ACL injury, and with a $4 million base salary. Hard to think whoever the Bills sign to replace him (from the Kylin Hills and Abram Smiths of the world) won't be a downgrade at kick returner.

That was an objectively good joke, paired with a humorous GIF that made it even funnier. Not sure what you're looking at.

Daboll gonna pioneer the "All slots" formation. Slots on slots on slots. Where do you put your nickel?

I enjoyed the last couple Wolf Bros shows I saw so much! First off, it's cool to see Bobby in a smaller theater instead of a giant stadium where he's as big as an ant. Second, he digs more deeply into the song repertoire than Dead and Co. Third, some of the songs really benefit from the horn section -- assuming they'll be along for the ride this tour. A song like Mexicali Blues, for instance, really shines with horns. Wolf Bros breathe new life and ideas into the songs in a way that other iterations have not. I dig 'em. Enjoy!

Kids in their 20s and Early 30---worse then the panhandlers on the street?
Logic replied to plenzmd1's topic in Off the Wall
I dunno. I mean I could point out that the decisions of Baby Boomers and the politicians they routinely elected led to America being a place wherein most young couples working combined 80 hour work weeks at decent jobs still can't afford to buy a house, obtain decent medical insurance, or to save any meaningful amount of money, so they take up second jobs driving Uber or Lyft and STILL can't afford those things, and thus exist in a reality where things like weddings and unexpected veterinary bills lead to GoFundMe campaigns and fundraising efforts, and that the inability or unwillingness of those Baby Boomers -- who were able to buy two houses and two cars on the income from one factory job 45 years ago -- to empathize with this predicament, and their repeated insistence on harping on the laziness and entitlement of "kids today", is at least as annoying as what the OP describes -- if not more so. But I won't say any of that. -
Wisconsin blog speculating about AJ Dillon and the Bills
Logic replied to machine gun kelly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thank you for sharing the article. I do not believe that it has any truth to it. First of all, the Bills' running back room is pretty full. Second, Beane has spent the entire offseason very purposefully acquiring more draft picks -- playing comp pick bingo, etc. So turning around and trading AWAY draft picks for a position at which the Bills roster is already quite set seems improbable to me. Not to mention the fact that the Bills would then have to pay AJ Dillon to keep him around and make the trade worthwhile, which is something I also don't see them doing. So thanks for sharing, but I just don't buy it.
