Letting Josh coach himself was the incorrect decision
Boatdrinks replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall
So if you strip away the things that make Allen a unique athlete, he looks more ordinary ? Great analysis. Amazingly , the entire offense -and its components -look more ordinary too once you remove elements that made it difficult to defend. I think you may be on to something here ! -
Do You Want Jets or Chargers Tonight?

Pegula isn’t going scorched earth after one non playoff year ( since Allen’s rookie campaign). -

Maybe, but maybe not. -
They’re pretty much just cliche filled blathering.

Craziest stat shown last night's broadcast.

They mentioned the TD’s . QB’s often have the most fumbles as they touch the ball on every play. You’re correct though. Some see that number and immediately think it means this season too. It doesn’t. He had a lot of fumbles his first few years when he ran constantly. I doubt it will change, but it’s also not the reason for the current offensive struggles. I think he’s always been aware of this reputation , but it’s pretty much been an interesting factoid amongst a lot of scoring - and winning. -
Well, if he does have such plans he’s certainly not talking about them at a press conference.

Is 10 Wins enough to make the playoffs? What is the path to 10 wins?

Imagine that. Rooting for the Zack Wilson led Jets to lose so the Bills playoff chances improve. Yet here we are -

When you have Josh Allen at QB , you’re not playing for a draft spot. -

So they should try to lose then ? Not try to fix their issues and get back to playing good football ? Not sure what the point of that would be. -

It’s also pretty much a home game for any visiting team. -
You may not be far off.. first downs are now a struggle to come by .
-
Poor scheme , poor design, poor execution. Offense is a complete mess at this point.
-
It was a very good defensive play. Once airborne , Kincaid was vulnerable to having the ball knocked out. He tried to do too much and got burned.
-
Yes, plenty of blame to go around. They just aren’t very good right now.
-
This season isn’t about what the Dolphins do, or anyone else for that matter. The Bills are just not very good right now. The defense ( while beat up) isn’t reliable at all. The offense is stuck in 1st gear for about 3 quarters per game. The Bills aren’t going anywhere right now, even if other teams lose games or fade down the stretch.
-
I’d suggest ignoring that guy. Not even a Bills fan anyway. Probably not. Best you can hope for is a top flight OC hire and hope McD realizes that the “ complimentary football “ stuff is outdated thinking. Need elite offense in todays NFL.
-
Turn Josh loose- don’t rein him in. The results are obvious when they do it. McD just needs to realize his preferred style isn’t going to cut it in todays NFL, and with his banged up D. You’re overplaying it a bit with regards to the supporting casts. Regardless, this offense as constructed gets going when Josh runs tempo and is involved in the ground game too. It’s obvious. Have to let it rip with Allen. Maybe, but it’s likely a 4 point game with around 10+ minutes left. I’d like their chances to pull out a W.
-
I expect just about how they’ve been playing : awful. Mc D needs to be realistic here , before it’s too late.
-
Exactly . Hopefully Sean sees the light. Soon …
-
Josh can and does play great in a certain style. It’s just not one that McD is particularly fond of. He’s low risk to a fault. The defense is awful , gives up first downs and big plays routinely. They need a score on every possession mentality and that means more of Josh being Josh. Not handoffs to RBs that run sideways.
-
This. He probably thinks the other way hasn’t gotten them to where they wanted to be yet- so why not take some of the risk out of Josh and turn him into a more conservative QB? He also thinks it would be better for his beloved defense.
-
He is what he is - and very consistently too. A WR3 or even 4 at times .
-
They’re intertwined. I’m not sure if it’s Dorsey who wants to keep the reins on Josh for large stretches of games or if he’s just following orders. I think it might be the latter. McD is conservative to a fault, and I don’t think he always got along with Daboll- who seemed like he didn’t care if the Bills offense ever gave the ball to an RB.
