The fact is, McDermott isn’t going anywhere until Pegula says so. That probably means missing the playoffs or several one and done’s at a minimum. Hoping for that to happen must be a weird neighborhood to live in as a Bills fan.
He’s talking about what Josh Allen is capable of doing on the field , not the outcome of a single game between two different editions of teams that have played in the past.
They may need him to. Each season is unique. This year has already been beset by the injury bug on defense. If Josh needs to resort to more Super Josh type plays then so be it. The goal is to win it all, whatever that requires.
And KC is not the KC of 2021. Past years are just not indicative of this seasons outcome.
Oh , it certainly will. Going forward they will definitely need to rely more on the offense. That’s probably the best approach as the defense has lost too many key parts to stay among the leagues best.
Well, he’s not wrong. They didn’t establish it. They got beat on the LOS, which is why many of the plays were unsuccessful. There were other errors as well, ( drops etc ) but the line was not as impressive as they were vs MIA.
Maybe, but those types of deals are rare at the deadline. If the Bills are able to make a trade for a CB or WR it will likely involve draft picks. Swapping contracts is difficult in season.
Plenty of very good to great College players flame out in the pros. It happens. Sucks when it’s our team , but Elam may be one who just never “ gets it”. They can’t give him too many chances if the results are similar to last Sunday’s. The season will be off the rails in a hurry.
Maybe if it brought a quality CB or WR2… player for player trades are rare at the deadline though. Usually all about the draft picks. Could be a deal of AJ for a pick , then trade that pick plus others for a WR2 or CB. See what the big picture is closer to the deadline.
So do the Bills … but again he knows the defense. They don’t have a month to get someone up to speed . Just a fail safe in case of yet another injury. Shows how they feel about Elam as well.
Miami backup I mentioned was referring to Thompson. The defense did a good job Vs MIA in that game. Offense gave them ridiculously short fields with turnovers and MIA mostly kicked FGs.
Someone put up a list of available FA corners last week after Tre injury. It was slim pickin’s and Norman was on it . Gotta have a warm body ready to go in just in case. Still a few weeks to go until trade deadline . Any stopgap type guy out there right now is going to be underwhelming.
I’m not sure if they have zero chance , but I wouldn’t pick the Bills vs any of those teams this week. Fortunately the Bills don’t play any of those teams this week , and if they face the 49ers I’d love it because it could only be in the Super Bowl. It’s a week to week league and the Bills have a lot of injuries to figure out right now.
If you’ve ever attended a game in FLA - Miami and especially JAX you’ll see the fans are largely POS. Mostly foul mouthed jagoffs in my experience, so it’s not surprising.
I like Murray on those types of runs more than Cook as well. He doesn’t need as much space and hits the whole quicker. I don’t dislike Cook , but I don’t see him as that type of RB.
