Mike Mayock has interviewed for Raiders G.M. job

A very “ Davis “ type hire that would be. Doesn’t mean it can’t work, but this guy is a caricature of Al. -
Post-game perorations - Put ‘em Here

Great way for Kyle to go out, a win vs MIA still feels special. Strong closeout for Allen as well. Here’s the thing folks, Josh Allen is just never going to be a favorite of the analytics crowd. That’s fine, he doesn’t have to be. He may always have those off target throws sandwiched around a couple of huge game changing plays. His career should be defined by scoring points and winning games, however that comes around. The numbers guys will say “ only QB type X has won the SuperBowl since 2000 whatever ! “ but the NFL is changing before our eyes. The College game continues to filter into NFL offenses and that’s not stopping soon. What will happen soon is the entire “ old guard” of QBs will be filing their retirement papers. Brady , Ben, Brees et al are down to the last few grains of sand in the hourglass. Fans may just have to change their way of thinking about the game. I believe Allen will improve and has already made strides since his return from injury. Raw numbers may never be kind to him. The glass still looks more than half full to me. Get some OL and WR talent on this team coupled with a strong and improving defense. Winning feels like it’s going to become the norm around here in the not too distant future. Cheers to our Bills ! -
I didn’t care for the play call either, but Allen shouldn’t have thrown it there. He telegraphed it all the way. Not sure what Tannehill has to do with it, but if you want to know I’ve never thought he was very good. After year seven, the Dolphins are still waiting for him to do something. He’s gone next year. As for Allen, he has a long way to go and needs to play better all around than he is now.

Yes, go for the win. Even with that in mind, the Bills may not be good enough to pull it off. Allen needs a strong second half to make up for that shaky performance , especially right before the half. He shouldn’t be making those types of mistakes at this point, including that putrid attempt at a throwaway near the sideline.

First half thread: Wk 17 Dolphins at Bills (CBS)
Boatdrinks replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Putrid sequence of plays by Allen late in first half. Oddly enough his first pick six of the year, but that play is more excusable in week one than week 17. Needs a big rebound in second half. -
The Buckeyes may have inexplicably taken the day off vs Purdue, but I have zero doubt they would have given a much better game to either Clemson or Alabama. ND doesn’t have enough elite talent and Oklahoma can’t stop anybody. OSU should have been the 4.

Top OTs rarely hit the free agent market. The Bills traded away their top two recents at the position. Time to draft a stud OL for the foreseeable future.

Probably true. Everything doesn’t fit into a neat little box, so BPA is probably an oversimplification. Therefore, it’s not a term that I used anywhere in my post. The good news is, the Bills are bad /thin in many areas so it’s likely there will be an elite talent at a position of need available to them at their draft slot. No need to reach for a WR in round one. Maybe a trade down materializes ? Too many unknowns at this point. It doesn’t look like there’s a magic elixir for the Bills WR woes in the top ten of this draft, no matter how bad fans want it to be.

'96 Memorable Bills Game & the NFL Rules then
Boatdrinks replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, although the title says ‘76 not ‘96. The game was more enjoyable and watchable then for sure. Far too many ticky tack penalties that influence the outcome now. The rules changes haven’t been for the better. Most were put in to increase scoring, shorten the game ( lol) and supposedly protect players. It seems every critical passing play is either a catch or a penalty these days. It’s difficult to watch.
