Closing everything under the sun. Many businesses will not survive due to their overreach. Unemployment will skyrocket , which is right in their wheelhouse.

The last one ? Sorry but this hasn’t happened in our lifetimes.Obama faced nothing like this at all. Can’t compare a virus to a banking collapse. The overreaction by Dem Governors is ridiculous. They want everyone on welfare and unemployment.

No one in their right mind is going to think a Biden or Sanders could leadthe country out of the economic fallout that’s sure to come from this. They’ll turn the USA into a wasteland where everyone is on some kind of government benefits and there is no work; as that’s exactly what they want.

Absolutely 1000% yes.

The main mover will be all the draconian restrictions on business and daily life for the healthy and ( relatively ) young that cause the economy to tank . As has been brought up , the question perhaps should be why we aren’t just restricting the movement and activities of the aged and vulnerable. It doesn’t add up, and the economy is being destroyed for everyone else going forward.

Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread

Yep, in fact the term I see thrown around now is “ migrants”. As if they’re just birds flying south for the winter. -
Between LA and Tampa, I think he’d choose Tampa. He’s not going up vs Mahomes twice a year, so he’ll take his chances vs anyone else.

Free Agency News and Updates - around the league
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All deals are tentative based on passing a physical , so thats nothing new. There’s no reason a team and player can’t get a physical conducted in short order. Teams have private jets, players can get first class seats on commercial flights or even a row of seats for less $$ than that. No need to rub elbows or anything else with hundreds of other people to get things done. So much ridiculous overthinking and mindless panic over this stuff right now. The virus isn’t going away because the NFL pushes its offseason back a month. Certain things can be done “ remotely “ or whatever and then a physical to wrap things up. It doesn’t have to be 6 weeks from now either. The league could say no physicals can be completed until X dare , then no one gets an unfair advantage etc. -
CBA voted and APPROVED by players/owners
Boatdrinks replied to BillsFan17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe Ross Tucker said all players making the minimum or thereabouts would see a boost. He said that was over 60% of the NFL last season, so this CBA was targeted to the lower on the food chain players. I’d have to think that would include players on rookie deals drafted in the lower rounds, but not certain. -

True, and Raiders won it as a WC team in the early ‘80s , though I don’t recall the record. Anyway, if a 6-10 team manages somehow to win the Super Bowl it would be hard to argue that they didn’t deserve it. They would have to do it entirely as a road team , and then win a neutral site game vs another team with a superior record. If some team manages to pull off this feat, they’d be a worthy champion. -

Not a lot of sense in delaying it. No huge congregations of people are needed to have free agency conducted as per usual. It should start as scheduled. -

St Maarten just restricted all flights from USA for next two weeks. The order cam e from The Hague, so Aruba probably included as well. -

No surprise there. Many were brought home from Europe so it was bound to show up. My guess is some of these folks tested positive, but who knows? -
The response was fine, cutting off China early was the proper step. The last thing the country needed was mindless panic. Have you seen the stores since the declaration of a SOE ? So doing this any earlier would only have hastened the onset of panic and overreaction. That’s where we are now, and CNN et al are the biggest cheerleaders of this nonsense. Since when is the stock market taking a nosedive a good thing ? It makes sense for Trump to be reassuring.

Bills re-sign Jason Croom to 1-year deal
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a timeline of when certain things can be done in the league year, and this signing simply follows that timeline. Free agency hasn’t even started yet. The GM has to cover all his bases. Don’t confuse actions taken just because they can be done now with actual priorities and their place in that hierarchy. -

A TE will be targeted in free agency. Franchise tags have impacted the available selection ( they always do) , but the interest in Olsen shows the need is going to be addressed. If FA is unsuccessful the draft is another option, but it seems they would prefer a veteran here. With Allen entering the all important third season, a ready made target is a necessity. Croom is just covering the bases if all else fails. -

Amazing that people don’t realize these moves were made in the name of liability, not actual safety. As soon as one individual gets Coronavirus at one of these places, it’s “ somebody else’s fault”. -
Yep, although it was not corroborated by other players on the field that day. NFL found no evidence.
