What position does Beane prioritize in FA?
Boatdrinks replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably right . Then maybe TE and OL. Not a ton of quality there at WR, so it will likely have to be a trade situation there to get immediate help. They still need to draft a WR, but they’ve got a bit need there and just a draft pick won’t cover it. -
A Haters Guide for Rooting for Remaining Teams
Boatdrinks replied to KingBoots8's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have to disagree. I’d love a Titans / 49ers matchup. Still teams that can pass, but have a physical edge/ element to their game. Not enough defense from a team like KC. I still want to see big hits and physical play, especially when they’ve tried to legislate most of it out of the game. Hard to argue with this. The Titans will force the Chiefs to play a physical type of game, and I’m not sure that they’re up to it. They’d like a track meet, but I don’t think the Titans will let it happen. -
Titans used Bills defense as blueprint to stop Ravens
Boatdrinks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree. Jackson’s passes outside the numbers are a weakness, and his offense is built to cover that up. Even the beat reporters at the Baltimore Sun pointed this out, noting his lack of arm strength on those throws after Saturday nights loss. There’s a reason they’re built the way they are and focus on those seam routes. No plan is fool proof ( need the players to execute it) , but Jackson has been figured out by the league’s defensive coaches. The game plan was formulated around his weaknesses, not the WRs. Bills D did a better job containing his running though. -
Who’s the one FA you want in 2020?
Boatdrinks replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure who the FAs will be yet, as some will sign last minute before hitting the market. Pretty sure of one FA signing that won’t do much of anything to propel the Bills closer to a championship ; a new backup QB. -
Can someone explain the Tyler Kroft love to me?

Pretty decent cap savings by cutting him, with little dead cap. A nice , low risk signing by Beane that didn’t pan out. Bills should move on. -

Every Titan win should be a reminder of what still needs to be done. -
I think Seifert was a defensive guy, and that era the 49ers weren’t known for their defense.

Another nice tip of the cap to Rush
-
Yeah, and he was getting arrested with guns and drugs in his car. Dill hole was a giant headache, and one that you wouldn’t want to deal with because he was an RB.
-
Who’s saying they’re “ closer than we think” ? The OP, maybe not me. I think they need offensive talent added. A top WR, physical RB2, and a reliable TE would be nice. That may be close , considering they didn’t have them this year. But it’s not closer than I think. It’s just about as far away as I think, and that’s not quite close enough.
-
I don’t think there were a lot more moves they could have made, maybe another WR. To get better than a WC.I don’t think they would have gotten by New England with that though, because JA is still young. Not many young QBs get by Belichick early in their careers ( heck Mahomes is just 1-2 with his arsenal of weapons) and Josh needs to get better at beating the blitz. He’s not there yet, and I think he struggles vs BB defense until he improves. Not sure , and I don’t care. We will see what they add in the offseason. At one point, Brady and BB were underdogs in the Super Bowl Vs Rams. It didn’t matter.
-
What you do in the regular season is erased once you’re in the playoffs. That’s been shown many times already. WC teams have won Super Bowls and so have other teams that didn’t have the #1 seed. You do need to have some offense to go with the defense in most cases, and the Bills are not quite built up on that side of the ball. They went from garbage to respectable , with another round of talent needed.
-
They don’t need multiple pass rushers. . They need a WR or 2, an RB 2 and maybe a reliable TE. If a WC berth is an opportunity that takes another 20 years to materialize this franchise is really doing something wrong. It won’t. The Pats* and Brady are coming to a close. Look at the NFC SB representation over the last 20 years vs the AFC. That hasn’t happened in the NFL before and likely won’t again.
-
Yeah, JJ won multiple SBs and had a very high winning %. Cowboys were kind of a joke when he took over. Think he was a quasi GM there too.
-
JJ seems a bit more choked up than Cowher did
-
No RB does, but TEN already beat KC this year with Tanny. It won’t be the same kind of a game as what occurred with the Texans. The TEN ground game will have something to say about that. Why do you say that ? Do Bills fans have some deep seated hate for KC ? I get if some fans don’t like the Titans because of past history, but I don’t recall any debacles vs KC aside from a bad MNF loss or two a long time ago.
-
Hawks are really lacking imo. I think their close games with SF is one of those quirky division game / matchup type things. They’re not Super Bowl caliber now, and gave away a championship to the Pats* last time they were. Yeah, but Lamar actually grabbed it.
-
Should be pretty good. Better than this , for sure.
-
That’s not a penalty Bad call
-
Not sure how far McD goes in dabbling with the offense. I agree he should have had more touches, but McD may be a delegator when it comes to that side of the ball. Perhaps his trust level in Daboll is misguided.
-
Yeah, lol. I like some defense, but just find these two teams boring as a whole. That’s just me, though. I’m sure they have lots of fans out there too.
